Anyone else excited that it's over?

I almost need a playoff season off.  The last two nearly gave me a heart attack.  Winning a superbowl gives you the shortest offseason.  This gives us the best chance to succeed next year.  I for some reason think Carolina is taking it this year.  I'm not really a Cam Newton fan but I think they are the dark horse this playoffs.

I could never root for a division foe lol. I'm excited we get the 16th pick. We have a chance to get one of the top WRs in the draft. I hope we get Mike Evans. His 6'5 frame would be awesome to have.

What would be the point of getting him with the 1st pick if the Oline is still horrible and the coaching staff can't compensate for it with competent play calling?

Yes, thrilled to not see negative runs, underthrows on deep routes, poor blocking, dropped passes, not hitting receivers in stride and phantom tackles on Rice for a while!

Never glad to see the NFL season end but it was pretty clear early on that this Ravens team could not defend the title so now it is time to address many needs..especially that pathetic O Line.

I can focus more on other sports lol. We won the Superbowl and we should be happy with that too. We made something out of nothing this year.

I'm a Ravens fan for life, and right now cannot find a good thing to say about this situation.  I'm just going to get ready for this to become the normal type of season for the Ravens as long as they keep up with the strategy of getting everything on the cheap and wasting tons of money on under-performers.  Add to that a pathological devotion to coaches who it seems would be hard pressed to be successful at the high school level, and the formula is set to repeat.

It's sad that something like this could be a possibility. Prior to this year I would have said NO WAY. Obviously, much of what you say describes this season and elicits fears of a repeat for next year, especially if changes aren't made in the coaching ranks.

I'm with most of the other posters here, not really glad it's over, but strangely relaxed.  You never knew which team would show up, we didn't play well, and the games we won were always nail bitters, my poor old heart was getting a workout.

I just have this terrible feeling some key players won't be with us next year because of the salary cap, that's all that worries me.

So you may not agree, but I'd love to see the Bronco's go all the way, I actually like Manning, and he deserves another ring.

Agree with most of what you say. I am relieved as watching this team rely on gutting out many games due to poor coaching or lack of execution (seemed no one was on the same page) was WAY too stressful! Cap issues are of MAJOR concern as you mention too; not sure if we will have as much overall talent next year. Good luck, OZ!

As for moving forward...I haven't quite decided who I am going to enjoy watching this post season, though I don't have much grumpiness towards Seattle I suppose.

I hope Harbaugh has less input on personel decision as he seems to have had this year. I'd rather him focus on how to become a better in game coach and learn how clock management works. He should use this time to study...

I'm cheering for the AFC North for 2 reasons:

  • If the Bengals win a Super Bowl that would make it 3 champs from our division in the last 6 years. Impact free agents and undrafted rookies are more likely to accept lower salaries against the cap to play in our division. We find and sign them better than most. The Bengals winning is highly unlikely, but what if?
  • I would like to see how the Bengals would defend the title after losing 1/3 of their team to other teams, given the toughest schedule in the league and being loaded with big cap hits (I'm thinking they finish about 5-11)

As far as Mike Evans is concerned - I don't know. Although a stud, he'll be really, really, really young, a football factory product that hasn't spent a lot of time in classrooms and has played in a system where undisplined routes and choas long balls is where he's had his most success (his receptions were in complete decline as the season went on - easy to read?). In addition, his agent will probably not get him signed until right before the end of training camp. I think that we would be better off with established WR with a strong work ethic and leadership skills. Someone who can passionately inspire others to play inspired ball and balance Joe's coolness.  We need a possession reciever with smarts and team attitude.

I'm excited that it's over and at most I have to witness the overpaid quarterback  two more years in this uniform before he is cut.

Lmao  Im excited that it is over as well.  Hey supporters( we told you so).  Now nobody doubts that the dumbest move of the off season was getting rid of our Quarterbacks best target.  I hope that doesn't happen this year.  Oh yeah it cant, his favorite targets play for all the other NFL teams.  :268213:

Pats got rid of Wes Welker and randy moss. I like to think our receiving core is better than the Pats...we just lack competent coaching that can cover up an inconsistent 0-line.

Boldin was never gonna be here beyond this year. What are you gonna complain about next year?

I hated the move in the short term but in the long term it helps us see who's capable (hi Marlon Brown) and who's not (hi Tandon Doss).

Really?  I thought Doss did I good job once we brought him back.  And I love Marlon Brown, I see a breakout year for him in 2014.   Now Dickson is another story, didn't really step up when needed.

I just don't see Doss as an impact player, though I think he's an effective KR/PR, which will be a need if we can't keep Jacoby.

I had brought up the topic of flopping cause nothing would be worse than finishing 8-8 or 9-7, not making the playoffs and giving up draft position, while also being able to get the go ahead on coaches fired and was basically laughed at.  Now here we are.  I just hope Ozzie isn't scared to pull the trigger and move up for talent this time.  And yea, I'm so excited the season is over.  Now I get to watch my Knicks...

How far away is the draft?

I am not happy the season is over but I am a little happy . We were in fact out of control so now we take this time to find our way back to the playoffs. for me this time is used to think or dream about OC and DC,,,,,looking at mock drafts ,                       RAVENS FAN TO THE CORE  ,,,,,, but I am rooting for the chargers and panthers

Excited, no. Not shocked, yes. We weren't that great all year long, so sitting this one out now doesn't surprise me. However, I loved seeing how excited my oldest son got on game days, and so I will miss that until next Fall. He's almost 6, and he really got into the Ravens this year. The minute they lost, he asked me for the exact date they will play again. So while that's sad, as a big family gal, I am thankful that the players/coaches will have more time with their families this year before the draft process and off-season work begins. And on a professional side, I am glad the off-season will be longer to address the major issues on the team right now. Stinks to be out of the playoffs, but there is a ton of work to do, and there will be more time to do it.

My 3 yo is faithfully sporting his Ravens purple today and wants to know next weeks color, that's how I have been teaching colors and numbers, 7 months until training camp seems like a long time now hopefully Joe's aches and pains and knee are feeling. I do think this team needs a full offseason to retool and plan and it is a nice problem to have. By next Sunday I will be grumping there is no Ravens football lol

Yeah. More like " releaved "
Joe was getting hurt and beat up WAY too much.

For his health and safety I am glad we are done for now.

Glad it's over. A loss yesterday will create more change than a win would of. Ravens were boring to watch. They had no chance in postseason with that oline and Rbs. I woke up relieved I won't see Oher, gino or Shipley playing again.

Excited...hmm...I've just seen Flacco writhing in pain in Cincinnati. I more curious than excited. Curious, if we can even field an average OL next season.

Am I the only one, who believes we would've made the playoffs with a middle of the pack OL?

Excited ?

Happy?

Are you crazy? We are here to win, and we did not.

I am really disappointed that we couldn't get the W when we really needed it, even with a little help.

If the Steelers were in, I would be even more upset.

I am always sad when football season is over,  now it is a little early.

Until next year...

It will be kind of nice in its own weird way to just relax through the playoffs and enjoy football. I'll be a Chargers fan throughout since they saved the world from Pittsburgh making it.

No, you are not alone.

We saw last year what happens when Joe feels safe.  When Joe has time.

When you lead the league in getting sacked there is something horribly wrong and you WILL NOT have stellar numbers.

I just hope Joe doesnt come out of this with Kyle Boller-itus......
( scared to death and shell shocked from getting steam rolled again and again and again and again )
