Kenderick Lewis will probably be that guy.

And I hope we don't play zone anymore lol

Lewis has really disappointed this year and has not played very well when you consider the talent around him on kc .

Defense:

As a fan, I'd love to see Daryl Smith, James Ihedigbo, and Art Jones come back. Terrence would be a decent addition after those. Not to keen on Bynes unless it's an indifferent price.

Offense:

This is where it matters.

While I stated above that I'd love to see all of those names return, I would see any of them (maybe besides Daryl) gone if it meant retooling the line with quality players. Quality meaning a solid, road paving right tackle, as well as an intelligent center who can pick up those blitzes and actually read defenses, as well as being physical enough to keep Flacco clean.

That also means signing Eugene Monroe is a priority. Next up would be probably Pitta, then Torrey. So all three would have in house deals before things would get started much off the ground. By that point, Castillo definitely needs to be gone. Needs to.

After that, or before, doesn't really matter, we need a new OC hire.. Chudz anyone? Doesn't matter, just someone with creativity, ability to adjust, and the awareness that Joe Flacco is a superbowl QB when he is cut loose. If he makes a mistake, throws an INT, coach him up, then send him back out and let him do his thing. That OC should be good in helping th next step, which is: The Draft.

Ozzie needs to swallow his pride this year and trade up, regardless of the worthless third, fourth, fifth rounders we lose. Ridiculous? No. Joe needs a big bodies, intelligent, smart, and fast Star WR talent to throw it up to. Someone he can lob it to and will be confident that the receiver will come down with it. Could be another TE, I don't think it's important, just an Elite Talent that he can rely on. That means trading up. No other option. We have to sacrifice if we want a potent offense, simple as that.

For the life of me I can't understand why our fan base is enamored with Dennis Pitta. Every tight end on our roster needs to go unless Pitta signs for cheap, aka less than 4 mil a year. He is not that good. His stats are terrible. He makes an occasional nice/clutch catch, but also showed this year that he also drops balls like everyone else on this roster. The answer is drafting the kid from UNC at TE. He is a freak and will finally give our QB a guy who will actually bail him out which he sorely missed this year since Q was gone. But Dennis Pitta? Torrey Smith? These guys are NOT the answer for a QB who clearly needs better help from his offensive weapons.

I agree nice players hope they stay but the ravens cant over value there own free agents or we will be in cap hell like the steelers rice, ngata, and suggs are bad enough cap hits. damned if you do damned if you dont tough decisions who to keep who to let walk.

For what it's worth. We probably Franchise Monroe.

We will give Pitta a deal. We are desperate for weapons

Huh?! Wouldn't that cost like 10M?!

cut mclain canty and leach ravens could save at least 8 million. and man 15 million to ngata next year that hurts he should have 2 sacks and 5 tackles for loss per game

If you franchise Monroe you lose all space. The cap hit on Tackles this year was 9.5 million

Yeah, I hope Monroe gets a long-term deal before the offseason kicks in.

I would be happy this offseason if all we signed was Monroe since everyone else is somewhat expendable, including Daryl Smith because look at Karlos Dansby when all the teams passed on him, We can always find playmaking ILB for cheap. Quality LTs on the otherhand, maybe not.

Agree 100%. Pitta can't block and he can't overwhelm/dominate an opponent. We need a big bodies at the position. I miss the days of Heap.

you got to be kidding me with the jacoby jones thing. He's as good as gone and in truth we need all the cap space possible for our O line.

I think we need to adress the O line in FA and Our weapons in the Draft

Alex Mack please

$15 Million, but I thought Flacco took up all our cap according to everyone and their mom.

That should be good to sign Monroe, Pitta and Smith. I think we should go after Alex Mack, to replace Gino. I don't want a rookie C again(technically this was Gino's rookie season as a starter) and would like to have a proven C to help turn our o-line around.

Cut McClain and start Brown next to Smith. Move Elam to SS and find ourselves a new FS. Then if we are lucky, sign Jones and that would be it, leave the rest to the draft.

Have you seen the rest of our offense? LOL

Pitta is like the girl who is a 7 that hangs out with a bunch of 4s

I think a team like the Texans, Titans, Colts, Redskins, or Giants bring in Daryl Smith for quite a bit of money.

Elegant metaphor. Probably not that far off from the truth.

LOL fly best comparison I have ever heard you make. I would rank Torrey as a hard 7 too. Hopefully Oz can sign em for fairly cheap

Ozzie needs to drop his "best player available" mantra.  That is the reason he thinks that he needs to hold all of his draft picks.  Cut loose, trade up, and bring in WR/TE/C/T that we need.

Keep Monroe.  He and Osemele will be huge benefits for our O line next year.

Rice or Pierce can walk for some good trade works.  I can't take another year of watching Pierce jitterbug while the hole closes and defenders close in on him.  1 cut and go dammit!

Pitta/Jones need to stay.  Not for talent purpose, but so Joe at least has one year with faces and talent that he knows.

Bring in a solid WR1 that can rip the top off!

32 year old LB don't go for a lot of money.

Just look at what Miami did to Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnett and those guys had productive season. Dansby had a monster season.

1. Sign Monroe and Pitta

2. Please, for the love of god, no Alabama guys

3. a top WR prospect in the 1st round would be nice

Yes, yes and yes. It makes me almost want to cry when I look at all the players that could have been taken instead of Terrence Cody :(

Finding a 1st round, stud WR is the most important thing. Most every team has one, and Flacco needs a guy opposite Torrey.

The Ravens are in for a longer mediocre run than anyone here can possibly imagine.

Massive internal changes would be necessary to avoid it and Bisciotti is not going to realize change is needed until a couple more years of struggling open his eyes to it.

The higher draft position in 2014, 2015 and 2016 could help, but not with the current talent evaluators in place.

Two key waives

Get rid of Ozzie Newsome and reluctantly trade Joe Flacco.

Flacco proved what he really is without a running game or a clutch receiver. He is mediocre. His QBR was 73.1 He threw for more interceptions than touchdowns and it was an all year debacle. He threw to the other team for Pick 6 too often. He threw behind or in front of players again and again.

Flacco can't do it alone and at 120 million is too expensive in this Salary Cap era.  He is Ozzie's baby and Ozzie is responsible for that arrangement as well.

Trade Flacco and we can afford to keep all our free agents.  Not that we really want to keep them all, but Flacco's ability coupled with his contract is the lead weight around the Raven's neck.

Take the lead weight from around the neck of the Ravens and fasten it to Ozzie Newsome. Let him sink into the sunset.

So who is / would be our new GM and QB.

Who is better, available, and affordable?

Seriously-

Some of you really don't know this team.  The Ravens just gave Flacco a $120 million contract last year and now you expect a trade??

This nonsense is not worthy of wasting band width on this board.
