Playoff bandwagons

68 posts in this topic

Well, it's officially over for us. We probably didn't deserve to make the playoffs with how hopeless our offence was, but we as fans are now faced with the prospect of either finding a bandwagon to jump on during the playoffs, or sticking to the NBA.

So, which team(s) are you hitching to for the next month?

For me, I'm following the NFC. I think the Seahawks deserve a Lombardi, and I quite like what the Panthers have managed to do this season. But as long as those 9ers aren't playing in New York, I'm probably gunning for the NFC representative in the Super Bowl.

Assuming the Steelers don't make it, I'm basically rooting against three AFC teams (I know, sucks to be me):

*I hate the Patriots, especially after last week. Pats here and one person I know IRL excluded, I find their fans obnoxious and generally unbearable and I just hate the team.

*I also want the Broncos to lose. Peyton I don't mind as much, but I hate watching their receivers act like star QBs on every single play. And I'm sick of their fans

*And what Ravens fan doesn't want the Bengals to lose their first game in the playoffs again? It won't put us in the playoffs and it won't help our draft status, but it sure as hell will make me feel better.

So yeah, go the Chiefs, Colts or Chargers.

Anyway, who's your pet team for the next month? Or are you giving up on the NFL until the draft?

Don't have one yet. Maybe the Eagles if they get in? Not sure

Because it's ok for their supporters to boo them?

Don't believe me, watch one of his press conferences.  He's one of the fastest talking guys I've ever seen.

I guess I'll pick the Chargers and Panthers. After all, the Chargers represent the "1st team to play the Eagles at home" streak, while the Panthers represent that other streak (someone here posted after Carolina beat New England, a couple of weeks back).

That Super Bowl is going to be like "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object"!

I'm rooting for Packers.

I still have an uneasy feeling the Patriots win somehow.

It would be nice to see Peyton add another even though I hate him and that fan base.

NE,SF,GB,INDY or Denver.

I believe 1 of those 5 will win. In order....

Seattles too much of a favorite. I like going against the grain even though they're the best roster. I wouldn't be surprised to them win though.

So he's almost a cliche'? Fast-break offense, no-huddle press conferences? LOL

To be honest, I thought he would flat-out fail in the league with the hype he received but he's got the Eagles primed for a playoff spot.

He really is, it's quite comical.

Kelly is one of the most fascinating coaches in the NFL IMO.  Everyone thought he was going to reinvent the wheel, but he didn't really.  His route combos and a lot of other aspects of his so called offense changed when he came into the league into typical NFL routes combos.  He's still using speed, but in a slightly different way from other no huddles.  He's getting defenses to second guess themselves and slow down their reactions.  Other teams are running up tempo, but Kelly's managed to utilize that and tweak it just a bit.  But then again, Belichick kinda brought that into the league and based a lot of that 2007 spread on Kelly's offense.  And most of his QB decision making happens after the snap instead of before the snap like Brady and Manning.  He's smart enough to realize how things work, and I respect how he looks at the 'problem' differently.  It's certainly something to be admired in a coach.  I will never like the Eagles, I will never support the Eagles, but I do like Chip Kelly.

Same but not necessarily for the same reason. I just want to see Rivers get his even though I don't like him as as guy. I also hate them and the Panthers the least of all the teams left.

One question I hope I don't have to answer (but probably will) is who I'd be rooting for in an AFCCG between any two of Denver/NE/Cincy. I'd probably cheer for the three in that order, but has anyone figured out how I can go for neither? Hoping the Bengals edge through but with a season-ending AJ Green injury or something?

I'm not sure where all this Broncos hate on this forum comes from. I've never found Broncos fans obnoxious (definitely not like the Steelers), and Ravens have always had lots of success against them. The last 2 SBs the Ravens won, they had to go through the Broncos, so I can understand Broncos fans disliking the Ravens though.

I also wouldn't mind if the Bengals won it all. Their poor fanbase deserves something lol. I guess my only problem with that would be that Andy Dalton would become even more overrated than he is now.

The only team I absolutely don't want winning anything are the Steelers.

Would love it if the 49ers won it all because of Q. Back to back SB rings for him would be awesome.

For me, it would be the 49ers. If John can't win it, then I like to see Jim do it. Keep the Lombardi trophy within the Harbaugh family.

I was conflicted on this one. I don't necessarily mind the 49ers, but Jim's constant freak-outs on the sideline, along with Kaep's ego and all the whining after they lost the Super Bowl make me annoyed, at least.

Seahawks vs Chargers.  The last few years the Super Bowl Champs have had to play a game in Philly's home opener so the Chargers will win the Super Bowl!
