Week 17 - Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals

Let's just win this. Ugly or pretty, don't care. Just take the win, knock out the Steelers, and give ourselves a fighting chance at the post season.

Its weird....Im already mentally checked out of this season. This offense just pisses me off to no end. Hoping for a win and some help (pathetic), but not banking on anything.

Kinda how I feel.If we want to be honest, despite the wins, it was the Dolphins-game the last time we played really well. Week #5. since then we had one good game (the Bengals) and all the others we only had good moments and a lot of luck - plus a Tucker. Funny how people keep discussing the odds and chances of both the Chargers and Dolphins win - while both are far, far more likely than us winning in Cincinatti. And if that doesn't happen, nothing else matters, we're out - right where we should be, in all fairness. And that's not hating on the Ravens, only the admission of the fact that we are not among the six best teams of the AFC this season. I'll still be happy if somehow we pull the magic and still make it - I just think we won't. No anger, no rage, no losing will to live. "You can't win 'em all." There's always a next season.

Given our history there's no reason to not think we can pull it together and win this game.  That said, I get it. After last week's debacle it's hard to be optimistic. But you never know............

Go    :argdancingravensblueonwkk8:

That's one of the perks of being optimistic: it doesn't have to be based on facts or tendencies. We can be as bad as we were last week and still hope for a win :)

Optimism tends to lead to success and I would hope the Ravens players and coaches are optimistic that they can take care of business today.

There are a few facts and tendencies to support hope for a win;

During the Harbaugh years, the Ravens tend to play well after blowout losses.

Dalton hasn't performed particularly well against us.

We have won big games in cinci in the recent past.

The Ravens seem to thrive in "do or die" situations.

Joe has a week of experience wearing the knee brace.

etc., etc.

Of course there are reasons to think we will lose as well, especially this season. I think many choose not get their hopes up so they won't be as disappointed if we do lose. Expect the worst and hope for the best.  :)

Game day!!!

Hopefully The Dalton has trouble going Super Sayien today. He's got a lot to prove today but I'm not buying him for one minute.

I have a good feeling about today. I think we make the playoffs with a win and Miami loss. I see Torrey Smith having a really good game, same with Joe. Kinda excited. I'm in Delaware, so perhaps that means something lol.

I'd say the win against Pitt was a pretty good game.

It means you've made good decisions. Delaware is a place where people are mostly happy and oblivious to the struggles of the outside world, except Wilmington. That place is a hole. Guess where I was born...

I went to the beach to shop. Are you on Delaware right now? I'm wondering if the game will show here.

Watching espn and the Pats admitted that our offense was predictable to the point that the pats d was calling out our plays. Harbs and Caldwell wake up!

I might miss the game today unless the hotel bar has it, rrrrrrrr damn

Tough luck. Might very well be the last chance to see the Ravens in real NFL action for 9 months :(

Down near the beaches it should be. Up in north DE, the Steelers game is on. All the bars will have all the games, as usual, though.

Well, maybe I'm just harder to please :)

I certainly understand your point, though. I thought that Steelers game was, perhaps, our best game of the year. Better, in my opinion, then any of the games you mentioned, even. Maybe you aren't harder to please, but different things work for different people.

Don't even mention it... We all know how it feels in April or May, when it's been like years, and still 3-4 months ahead...

And even worse: if we really don't make the playoffs, than it's gonna be one month longer than what we've come to experience.
