Week 17 Discussion (Other Games)

So apparently Succop should've gotten another try? LOL.

Who cares, let's not worry about that. The Steelers are out of the playoffs and that is all that matters.

Not that I feel sympathy for them, but what was the other one? I know there was the dubious "down" ruling on 4th down in OT.

huh what? who's saying this steelers fans?

The Chargers lined up 7 players on the right side of the line when attempting to block the FG.  NFL rules only allow 6 players on any given side.  Should have been a 5 yard penalty and a re-kick.

Yeah, just saw the thread on the Steelers forum about it. They're having a good gripe atm (which they're entitled to, but that doesn't make it less fun to watch).

With hindsight, today wasn't so bad. We got a good pick, AND we got to see the Steelers get screwed out of a playoff berth.

I shouldn't be as happy as I am about the Steelers being screwed, but I am LOL.

It's funny that the same ref that gave the Steelers the Superbowl a few years ago is the one that took a playoff spot away from them this year.

As PFT put it "Bill Levy giveth and Bill Levy taketh away."

Is this two years in a row that Pitt has missed the playoffs?

And the year before that they lost to Tim Tebow. So basically three years straight.

That still makes me chuckle.  What an embarrassment.

Haha.  The refs screwed over the Steelers not once, but twice!

So, we can finally put to rest the myth that the Steelers get all the calls…oh, wait, I am in the ravens forum…nevermind.

For the record…I don't believe in karma. For the record…I think every single team in the NFL gets good calls and bad calls. For the record…I don't believe the NFL or NFL officials favor or resist any team…not even the Puketriots. All you have to do is look at the yearly stats over several seasons. What causes me to shake my head over this issue is how many people actually believe…truly, literally believe…that the NFL and its refs have intentionally favored the Steelers (or any team for that matter). It is one of the silliest and most uniformed things fans do…and it happens in here…A LOT.

The problem is the officiating actually does suck, some crews being worse than others, and while it may not be deliberate there are those games/calls that seem to go one teams' way over another. If the officiating was at all consistent, there wouldn't be any feeling of favortism, but it isn't at all.

I disagree though that favortism does not exist. Case in point: the helmet to Flacco's knee. We all know that Suggs got a flag for glancing Brady's knee yet no flag for a helmet to Joe's? Then they don't even fine the guy? Yeah, don't even tell me there isn't any favortism at all. Remember that you're talking to a team that received a flag for "malice in his heart". What kind of penalty is that? lol

What I do find just so ironic is Tomlin's anger. Bet he wasn't angry when they missed the flag on him huh? lol

Reasonable NFL fans of every team know there are good and bad calls but not favoritism. Its hard to even have a discussion with people who believe in a bias. Honestly, I find it silly and somewhat annoying. In the heat of the moment of a game…of course people yell about calls…but after the season, in a calm discussion, you are actually going to argue for biased officiating in favor of the Steelers? or any team? Where we might agree is that officiating could improve. It is time for the NFL to make it a full time job, pay them better money, require them to train year round and create a fitness test refs must pass. Also, a review official in the booth should have the right to intervene on penalty calls ( college has a form of this).

good one, I can see how you would think that they cheat seeing how steelers fans are bitter at the fact we put a record asskicking on them with the most mediocre offense we have had in quite a while, plus the fact we have bounced you from the payoffs more than a few times.

First, why are you always looking for love from Ravens fans in here by trolling the Steelers? Weird.

Second, ya, you guys have been our kryptonite, just like Eli Manning and the Giants have owned you when it matters…its one of those NFL match up things…most teams have an opponent like that. Hasn't kept us from winning two rings since your last one.

Third, Brady is the new Peyton Manning from a few years back and the Pats are the new Colts. You rack up regular season wins year after year against the hapless Bills, Dolphins and Jets in a joke division and then fail in the playoffs over and over and over. 11 wins, 12, wins, even 16 regulars seasons wins…then…no championship. So in a couple weeks we can watch Peyton Brady or Tom Manning or whatever his name is and his Indianapolis Patriots exit the play offs again.

I'm not looking for any love i'm just telling another silly steelers fan how silly he sounds all the time. You know like when you said the pats would be an easy game and then we crushed you like a bug with a record score. Packers also cost the steelers a super bowl too but they were hardly destiny teams that no one could stop like the giants teams were they.

The teams you beat for your last two titles were the cardinals who weren't that good the NFC were that bad, and the seahawks which you got more than a few calls your way. If pats make superbowl again I doubt you'll be back here to eat crow. Also i'd rather make the playoffs easy every year then settle for mediocrity like the steelers have the last 2 years.

BWA HA HA HA HA…weak, dude, completely weak. First…false straw man argument…show me where I said the Pats would be an easy game? Never said it. Giants were destiny teams? That's your argument? ROFLOL…freaking hilarious. Maybe Nurple will share his popcorn with you for busting on the Steelers.
