Next up: Bengals part 2

How can anyone say we will beat the Bengals? What is this being based on, exactly?

That the Bengals are The Bengals...

These guys are a great illusion of a good football team but at the end of the day they are still the Bengals. Let us not forget facts.

He looked much more comfortable in the second half, throwing some beautiful passes. I'm still concerned about his lack of mobility though. He makes lots of plays with his legs either extending plays or picking up yards.

First of all, I don't want people to think im knocking Flacco because im a big fan. That being said..Joe is naturally a bit dopey as is, takes him about 3 second to count to 2 if you get my drift..but give him some dopey meds to kill his knee pain and now all of sudden he's even dopier. He finally got his act together in the 4th quarter and my guess is it was due to the pain pills wearing off. Im not playing conspiracy theorist but I actually wouldn't be surprised if this was true. Remember when he stumbled in the first series or 2 and you immediately thought to yourself, his knee blew out? Well, he didn't trip because of his knee. He stumbled because he didn't feel his numb leg touch the ground. Its kind of like walking down the steps in the dark and when you get to the bottom you take one more extra step and don't go anywhere...I remember before a commercial break they panned the camera on joe flacco sitting on the bench and he was just staring off into space all zoned out like he was day dreaming about a looney tunes rerun. Like I said I love the guy but his Qb awareness is just non-existent at times. And honestly, I believe when he's dialed in he's unstoppable. The problem is getting him to dial in every play, every game. It seems to me he only performs at his best when everything is on the line...but then again it's probably just me.

I think I said this in the game thread, but if our guys can't light up Detroit and NE's secondary we don't stand a chance against Seattle and I want to stay the only team to have multiple Super Bowls without a loss.  I'm not worried about the AFC, every team in it has its flaws and we could get lucky against them.  I worry about the NFC.  And I know that's odd because Seattle just lost at their supposedly impregnable fortress, but they're still really really really good and the Cards are really good as well.

This was suppose to be true about The Denver Broncos Defense last year...our offense wasn't even suppose to score a single point... same with the Patriots, their offense was suppose to be "unstoppable offense"...and our defense was "suppose to fall apart"..the only problem is people underestimated the Baltimore Ravens will to win and none of that other stuff mattered. How many times this year did you put your head down at the end of the game because you gave up hope and thought the team lost and then out of no where Joe Flacco pulls off a miracle, or Justin Tucker kicks a ridiculous field goal to win it, or our defense makes a crazy stand and just like that we  find ourselves snatching a victory out of the jaws of defeat? Even as a diehard optimistic fan I sometimes find myself thinking the worst after a crucial play that goes against us late in the game and I start getting pissed off looking for excuses to why we lost and then BOOM this team's resilience pulls through and they find a way to overcome and win. Lets focus on the Bengals and worry about the Super Bowl when we get there ^_<

As long as we've got a chance, we've got some hope. So lets hope for the best!

I don't even care at this point. This team is not legit.

We couldn't move the ball 1 yard against the worst run d in the league. Our Oline gets manhandled by everyone. A run play got blown up in the back field yesterday because Oher got driven back...by a DB! Pathetic. Sickening. Not Ravens football.

We don't deserve the playoffs after giving so many games away this year because apparently nobody has the guts to grab some of these guys by the berries and tell them to man the freak up, get pee'd off and beat the man in front of you at all costs.

I actualy think John had it with Ray rice yesterday. he didnt look impressed with his explanations on the sideline after the failed runs at the 1 yard line

Oh the irony.

Ray rice's unsuccessful short yardage stuffs are a pretty good metaphor for harbaughs coaching this year

I was actually disgusted with Harbaugh yesterday for maybe the first time ever. The desperation field goal attempt was just embarrassing.

Not sure what you're talking about here. Desperation?  37 yard chip shot.

When you're down 20-0 at that point you're just trying to avoid the shutout.

THIS. harbaugh was pathetic last night. He was clueless, and didn't know what to do once he realized cheesy slogans he stole from his father werent going to save the day.

I don't think so. If Tuck had made it we're down 10 after the TD with 9 minutes and change to go. Much easier to get a TD and FG in that amount of time than two TDs.

Deservedly so. It wasn't just last night. It's been a reoccurring problem in every single game.

Failed 4th and 1's, failed goal to go situations have cost us games this season. Even when we bring in the extra tackle and fullback, we STILL can't get a yard.

At some point these guys have be be accountable. Including Ray Rice. All I'm hearing from him each week are excuses about his thigh. Well Ray, if it hurts that bad sit down and stop being a liability to your team.

Flacco isn't off the hook either. His performance was atrocious. I'm not talking about the 2 interceptions either. I'm talking about not making the plays that were there right in front of him that would have impacted the game.

play calling has been equally terrible. This offense is painfully vanilla.

Early in the first quarter it became clear that we were getting hosed by the officials. What is Harbaugh supposed to coach up when Ihedigbo gets called for a BS PI that gives the Pats the ball near the goal line?

On our next series, Torrey Smith was turned around by Talib over the middle and no call was made. It was definitely illegal contact if with in 5 yards, and PI if after that.

Holding called, ACTUALLY CALLED and ANNOUNCED, on the field and then negated on the Brady sack. That happened twice in this game. The head official and SJ were throwing everything they could at the Ravens in the first half.

The final insult, magically in the 2nd half both teams suddenly started playing legal football. The same team that couldn't get out of its own way suddenly playing flagless football.

We got jobbed at M&T. What do you want Harbaugh to do when he has to beat Belicheat, the refs, and the Patriots?

Not even going to get into the Pats D falling down all over the field anytime we got momentum going. What a smart way to stop your opponent from gaining momentum. Be watching for this crap in the playoffs!

I'm really hoping that the Bengals turn out to be the Bungles and we can beat them, but it's a tall order considering they play very well at home.

Bengals are riding an emotional high right now.  Crowned AFC North Champion with one game left in the season, playing for a 2nd seed and first round bye in their house where they are unbeaten all year.

And then there's the Ravens...

As bad as last night was the Ravens still have a  chance of winning. Enough with the bombs on play action. We're not catching anybody by surprise, especially with two safties playing deep. Mix it up please, get the ball out of Joe's hand quickly, find Torrey on some crossing routes and Doss for that matter. I expect a close game and a Ravens win!

More importantly, Can the Chiefs beat San Diego? Will the Jets play hard to keep Rex's job and BEAT the Dolphins?

Just a thought, but the Chargers play the late game, and if either the Dolphins or Ravens win, they have nothing to play for.

It's sad that a game where I won't go insane I will miss because of working.

If we beat the Bengals and make the playoffs, that's great! Anything can happen once you make the post season as we all know.

If we lose and make the playoffs (that can actually happen) great!

If we lose and miss the playoffs, I'm alright with that as well.

It's healthy to think that way......

PS: I am leaning toward that perception too....

Will Cincy even play their starters?  They have the division and highest seed possible locked up dont they?

No. They can get #2 if NE loses, and NE doesn't play until 4:25.

I would!

To hell with worrying about injuries or the you have nothing to play for notion.  The Ravens are wounded...mentally!  If I'm Marvin Lewis, I am getting my boys amped up even more than what they already are after watching the Ravens embarrassing and pathetic performance vs. the Patriots.  I would have the Bengals lathered up and foaming at the mouth and ready to finally put the Ravens out of their playoff hunt misery!  IF, I was Marvin Lewis!  But I'm not and I hope he rests them all!  LOL!!

They're also playing the only team in the AFC playoffs with no implications surrounding their game, so IDK how much that helps
