Depends on Flaccos health. If he is better still think we can win.

Sims made a good point in that he will have a game under his belt playing with the brace, should be more comfortable and play better. I mean my God!  He couldn't put his left foot on the ground and fell down! He did seem to be moving around better as the game went on, but also took some huge hits. Hope he is OK.

Chargers have worse conf record than us. Miami has a better conf record but we win the tiebreaker with them. So if all 3 of finish 9-7, why dont we get that 6th spot?

Sorry, I just don't get it.

Miami gets it because of their better conference record. They only count the conference record in a 3 way tie via we need one of them to lose

When there's a 3-way tie, if all 3 teams haven't played each other, the standings ignore head-to-head and only look at conference record for all 3 teams. It's just how the rules work.

He looked much more comfortable in the second half, throwing some beautiful passes. I'm still concerned about his lack of mobility though. He makes lots of plays with his legs either extending plays or picking up yards.

Yeah.  I've never worn a structured brace like that, but since it doesn't allow for any lateral movement in the joint it has to take a lot to learn how to move effectively. I was thinking maybe he should just leave it on 24/7 this week.

OK, I get it. So we tie with Miami, we win based on the head to head.
We tie with SanDiego, we win with conf record.
But if we tie them both, they look at conference and while we still beat Chargers, we lose to Dolphins.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I'll get negged for this, but it's time to just tank it.  We don't have a shot to make a run, don't make it out like we can go on a magical run like last year.  Yeah things were bleak, but there were at least signs that something might happen.  We weren't as bad off as we are this year.

Flacco's lack of mobility will be a huge issue. He's masked some of our crap run game with his scrambling. He couldn't do it today and it was a problem.

I understand why you say that, but I don't agree. This week was bad, but there isnt a team in the AFC I don't think we can beat. Today was ugly, but I dont think we were outplayed as much as we shot ourselves in the foot.

I think I said this in the game thread, but if our guys can't light up Detroit and NE's secondary we don't stand a chance against Seattle and I want to stay the only team to have multiple Super Bowls without a loss.  I'm not worried about the AFC, every team in it has its flaws and we could get lucky against them.  I worry about the NFC.  And I know that's odd because Seattle just lost at their supposedly impregnable fortress, but they're still really really really good and the Cards are really good as well.

I am not scared.

I see today as a loss not an out of control spiral downward.

The Bengals are a different beast.  We know them like we know the backs of our hands.

I like our odd.

The OTHER good news is, after todays play we unquestionably will be the underdog for this game.

In reality, this is the only thing that makes today's loss bearable. We have some holes, but nothing went right for the Ravens today. The patsies really aren't very good and no one is "unbeatable" this year.

By saying this, I know you mean that the Ravens always thrive in the "underdog" role - by getting fired up with the "no one thinks we can win, we're getting no respect" locker room talk...

But what this REALLY means is that the odds-makers (who are neutral, and not Bengals fans) believe that the Bengals are a better football team than we are... and I don't see that as "good news."

We'll certainly be underdogs.

Sometimes a loss like that one and a full week of reflection and preperation is all a team needs to get back on track. The Patriots were not that good and we know we aren't that bad (the stats were pretty even for the most part). They beat us like they use to in the old days - break our continuity, frustrate us, play our tendencies, force calls, allow us to beat ourselves and clock management (when we have games like that they seem to go by in minutes). We just had a bad day.

Time to get back to work. Without question we can beat the Bengals and the Patriots the next time (if they make it to the AFC Title Game).

GO Ravens! No Surrender.

The only hope I had of seeing this game went up in smoke with today's debacle. If it had been flexed I'd be good.

I will be working.

I'm pretty calm about the playoffs now. We make it, great! We don't, perhaps we'll actually address some of our issues.

no offense with this K-Dog but don't we also know the Patriots like the back of our hands as well?  And how'd that turn out at home?  41-7.  Spare us brah!  LOL!!!!

Bengals 7-0 at home and destroying teams. Ravens 2-5 on road with hurt Qb. Plus Ravens win was against lowly Lions vía 61 yd kick. Oh, Lions just lost 5 of 6 and home games vs TB and Nyg. Ravens look like dead meat.

All of these things could have been said about Arizona and Seattle, and yet...

Bruce Arians is an amazing offensive mind though. We don't have anyone like him.

Is there a remote possibility that the Bengals, with the division already clinched, rest their starters? I personally doubt it, they'll probably want to knock us out right away. That same rationale could be used in KC though, regardless of the fact that they have a playoff spot locked I'm sure they would want to avoid playing the Bolts in the playoffs

Bengals are still playing for a chance to get the #2 seed, so no.

Chiefs can't play the Chargers unless they both make it to the AFC title game...but Reid teams don't typically rest starters. And the Chiefs might play just for the sake of momentum.

-We were on a short week
-We've beaten this team this year (same personnel as right now)
-Andy Dalton can always have a bad game

That's all I got. But I'll wear these purple shades with pride and say I think that they can pull it off.

I have the same concerns as I stated in the New England thread last week; little to no Offensive TDs. We've lacked the ability to sustain a drive that doesn't include a big play or penalty like pass interference. I expect the game to be close but the Ravens seem to lack the offensive firepower needed to knock off top teams at this stage of the season.

no chance we win this game . I predict they drop another 40 points on us and Joe will say well we just didn't make plays  a mistake here and there.

next year a new offensive line and we are back in business.
