The most disappointing thing this year is how many weeks you looked at guys not playing for other teams which were already struggling in certain areas.

Von Miller, Andre Johnson, Brian Bulaga, Mark Tauscher, Clay Matthews, James Jones, Randall Cobb, Jay Cutler, Lance Briggs, Henry Melton, Charles Tillman, Leodis McKelvin, Jairus Byrd, Geno Atkins, the Steelers were down 5 o-lineman at one point with an already miserable o-line, Woodley out, Jerod Mayo, Vince Wilfork, many others were out or went out during the game and we failed to capitalize every time, even when we found close wins.

Other teams with near last ranked units run or pass defense, 3rd string offensive tackles, so forth, still stymied us.  It's really annoying when you look at our guys on paper and other teams, who are clearly not as talented, and lose many of their best guys on top of it, and we get schooled by undrafted free agent rookies, career backup journeymen, guys who were roasted the week before, and all other sorts of miscreants.

Coaching, leadership, being overrated, who knows the real culprit but we've underperformed so often this year in areas and games, even some wins, this has just been a really hard year to watch.  We all knew the playoff runs wouldn't go on indefinitely, but this year certainly gave the appearance of being largely winnable.  Star Lotuleilei and Luke Kuechly humiliating us in the preseason was an ill omen, losing to the Bills with their rookie QB EJ Manuel and Kiko Alonso's 3 picks (each of which had a bigger impact than Arthur Brown's entire season) and Buffalo's 200 rushing yards, losing to McCown, losing to Jason Campbell.  This latest inexplicable choke beats Jacksonville or Seattle two years ago or Houston or Denver (reg. season) last year because unlike those games it could easily spell the end of our season in one fell swoop.

Regardless of whether you think Joe earned his contract, it begins to really kick in next year.  This along with Haloti, Suggs, and Rice's contracts will cripple us unless all 3 magically perform like they are supposed to on paper.  It could be goodbye Art Jones, Pitta, no Monroe or Daryl Smith back, with zero answers or ability to fill those positions.  We could be seeing some Oniel Cousins, DeRon Jenkins, David Pittman level incompetence in desperate attempts to put a patchwork team on the field.  I really hope I have no clue what I'm talking about and Ray Rice returns to 2009 form, Haloti picks up 7 sacks, Suggs is a consistent guy who always has to be accounted for, Joe doesn't sail easy passes, but things appear to be circling the drain.  We shall see.

Back from m&t @ roll 231. Great fans today. Our stand was loud. You got to be proud of the noise our fans made this evening.

Back on the game...It was a freaking nightmare. Just when you put some faith on flacco that 120m mongrol does the kyle boller/mark sanchez 2.0. Its pretty clear Flacco has no business being on the field. Him and the Oline made absolutely no effort tonight. We need to cut this dud BY NEXT SEASON! Im so done with this overrated QB.

Lol what? The guy is a freaking dud. He needs to get cut anyways before his 35m/year cap hit. His not worth keeping around. Anyone that actually goes to the game will have told you the same thing.

Find a real OC and an actual Backup QB.

Blame the backup QB? and someone who isn't on the field? how about we blame the guys who can't execute for not executing, that includes Flacco.

We beat the Jets. Doesn't bode well for them. Besides we would still have to beat the Bengals to get in.

We also beat the Bengals too.

Seems like both Suggs and Jay Cutler has the same opinion about what to do with the game film in reference to studying it.  Suggs said; "Burn the tape!"  But watching the NFL Network for highlights; after their 54-11 beat down by the Eagles; Bears QB Jay Cutler was asked the question; "What can you learn from this game?"  His response was; "I don't think we'll study this much!  There's not much to study.  We got beat down!  To go back and study it is going to be a waste of our time!"

I couldn't agree more with these guys!

Ravens need a better short passing game to negate these Oline troubles.

Then we complain about the dink and dunk and call him "check down joe" all over again! Joe does the long ball as of last post season like the fans demanded...now we want the old joe back? Lol.

Flacco should re-negotate his contract. Likewise with Ngata rice and Suggs. Oh but they are ever so poor with families to feed ( for 6 future generations worth)

This is what i dont get. If i was playing for the ravens and not playing well and making a tonne that isnt cap friendly I WOULD take a paycut.

No one really loves this team. If these players loved this team they would do it for the better of the team and actually for a chance to be succesfull. But no...its all about the money. Greedy flacco.

They need a better short passing game to sustain drives and become a modern offense. I think we're one of the few teams that tries to rely solely on low percentage deep shots. Caldwell needs to change the offensive scheme completely because it's wrong, not just call it better like he did in the playoffs.

We took the steelers Super Bowl mold like the people wanted.

I would...in particular if I was rice. Id be ashamed to be stealing and stopping us from landing a Byrd this off season.

At my last job I did very little work. I probably should've had a pay cut because the job wasn't as demanding as the salary warranted.

If my boss approached me and asked me to take a pay cut would I? Hell no! The thinking for athletes is the same.

For fans yes. But for players it's still just a job first and foremost.

Caldwell's playcalling in this game was just mind boggling.I was getting

extremely irritated about many of the calls.

This has happened at times this season but nowhere near the extent of this game.

Playcalling last week was suspect too. Even Aaron Rodgers said he wasn't sure what we were doing on that last series before the field goal.

if we can lure any of shields, DRC or vontai davis then i say goodbye to graham. we would have the best corner trio in football. obviously Davis would be the best of the three

A restless seven hours of sleep did NOT make this loss more palatable for me.  I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't believe that our team would be blown out of their own stadium.  I'm usually not so naive.  Arrgghh!
