Our receivers are definitely not above average. They can go deep but that's it.

As I've said before this has been a complaint for years. I'm wondering if it's coaching/scheme rather than our receivers. We really need to question our receivers coach at this point.

I would LOVE to see Derrick Mason come back as a receivers coach.

I would gladly contribute to his salary if he did, lol. Can he and Birk both come back as coaches?

Caldwell needs to get more creative with the offense   and I know Flacco was playing hurt but the way he was throwing passes isn't much different when he was healthy. In my opinion the ravens might have to make some changes on offense this season coaching wise

I don't think a good receiving coach could help any of these guys. They're just not talented enough. We need strong big physicals receivers, and an O-line that can do its job. Like someone said, the Patriots dropped eight in coverage because this crap line can't stop a three man rush. Oher gone, Monroe gone (I don't know what people see in him, he's not that good) and please get rid of Shipley and Gino. Neither one of those two should be starting.

Wow! Nothing here is accurate, except maybe Shipley's ineptitude and Oher being gone.

The sad part of it is, I'm still not sure that Cam Cameron was the issue at all...  he was the fall-guy.  He was a college coordinator and QB coach for LSU...  Talk about a successful season... They went 9 - 3

It doesn't matter who the offensive coordinator is, this team has never been great offensively. Granted they are better with Flacco, but still sub par. If Belichick(SP) was the coach here, the offense would still suck because you need to put players on the field with some intelligence. In fact wasn't he fired by Cleveland before the move to Baltimore, and now look at his success. No offensive coordinator can make an offense successful if the team itself doesn't have the IQ for it, and the Ravens have a lot of dumb players playing on offense. How else can you explain the vanilla offenses that have been a trademark of this team since 1998, and with multiple coordinators. It's the only explanation I have. The more I watch this team, the more I start to believe that the 2012 playoff team was an offensive fluke.

I'll mourn our season now. I'd rather not go to the playoffs, let our Qb rehab, and fix the team in the offseason now, than make it postseason and watch mediocrity. Flacco not being mobile isn't good at all for our offense. Someone has to give us a run game, he was the last hope.

You really believe Monroe is that good? I don't, and I don't think our center is any good either. Too many 3rd and short and 4th and shorts that have failed. Yeah we scored a TD today with a QB sneak, but overall, this offensive line has failed a lot when that extra yard is needed.

At this point why isn't Arthur brown playing in place of jameel McClain and why is pitta not seeing the field enough ?

I know. Jameel McClain sucks.

The 3 Game Home winning streak and the Lions game deluded us.

NYJets       7-8

Pittsburgh  7-8

Minnesota  4-10-1

Detroit        7-8

We beat the above 4 teams to actually be selected by the vast majority of pickers to beat the 10-4 New England Patriots.  We never had a chance.

That 4 game winning streak was against losing teams. The only team from that run still alive in the playoff race is Pittsburgh and they have the inside edge vs us at this juncture.

Ok, we "rolled" vs the Jets. On a Flacco to Jones bomb and 4 tucker field goals.

Pittsburgh we scored 1 touchdown and 5 field goals and barely held on due to a Jones Kickoff return.

Minnesota is not a good team and we were life and death to find a way to win.

Detroit we got +3 Turnovers and needed a miracle Tucker kick to prevail.

We've run into a couple good teams this year and we were shellacked.

Some will point to the yardage for and against. Yeah, we got a bunch of garbage yards and they still held us out of the endzone.

We miss certain players to no end.  Errors were made by management, including paying Flacco way too much.  Now they have to build the team they gave away to put Flacco back in a position where his attributes can again make a difference. They can't make a difference now.

This is definitely the worst Raven Team in the "Harbaugh Era".

It is inept offensively.

Oline is horrible. They can't pick up a simple stunt... especially on third downs.

Flacco needs to learn... somehow... some way. If there's double coverage, don't throw there.. your WRs aren't good enough to beat that..

Torrey... your soft, and fail to make tough catches time and time again.

Rice, you showed some fire today. Hope you can get healthy and in shape in the offseason.

Pierce , you're hurt 3 times a game.

Gino, you're GINO.. not a good football player

Monroe, you're not impressive and you miss too many simple assignments

Yanda, you're not even close to a top 5 guard.... get healthy

Oher, you're just not a tackle in this league.. Maybe you can be a guard?

Webb, I like your toughness but either you've lost steps from the knees or your technique is bad. You can't seem to jam anyone at the line.

Graham, you're ok sometimes but your tackling is suspect

Jimmy, you're getting better... you'll peak just before we have to let you go in FA.

I've got more but don't feel like typig

Agree to all of these things.

Nah Monroe is not a difference maker. They happy mouthed him, hoping he was. He ain't.

Not even close to being a difference maker. Average, at best.

Either SD or MIA.

And I doubt Cincy rests starters, they're still fighting for seeding.

The Dolphins are playing the Jets so that is a Dolphin win. The Chargers are playing KC, so they may lose. Unfortunately we need to win for this scenario to work. Does anyone think we are waltzing into Cinci and beating the Bengals?

True that. Man, this is well summarized as stark truth. Honestly, though my thoughts were there was no way that our offense that was moving the ball into the red zone could be kept out of the red zone for so many games. The PATS could be run on, struggling themselves on offense, and lacking safeties that could lock us down, not to mention struggling late in games as well. Plus, we were at home. Bottom line- you are right, our coaching and execution were exposed to be inferior to a team with such post-season success. I am not sure what to think about next week yet, as Cincy lacks that kind of experience nor do I even want to. Ugh.

Tannehill was injured and the players are gonna fight for Rex's job. Don't give the win to MIA so easily.

We beat the Jets. Doesn't bode well for them. Besides we would still have to beat the Bengals to get in.

At this rate I'm kinda rooting for the Chargers to get in. A hobbled Flacco isn't gonna do much in the playoffs.

On an up note:

Chicago decided they wanted to make sure we didn't have the worst performance of a playoff hopeful this weekend.

Philly 54 Chicago 11

I really would just once like to see where we can go with Flacco with a real OC. I am so tired of kiddie pool coordinators.

The 3 Game Home winning streak and the Lions game deluded us.

Not me PC!

I've been saying it all week long that the Ravens lack and inability to score TD's offensively would come back to bite them in the butt!  My statements are due to how I have viewed our team's gameplay through the entire season game after game after game!  Even their 3 game win streak at home and definitely their game vs. the Lions where they went TD-less and survived off of Tucker FG's..  At the risk of losing some more man points....Dr. Phil says it best; "A great judge of one's future behavior is their past behavior!"  What we saw tonight really shouldn't be a shock to anyone!

Yes!  The defense was horrible the entire game!  Yes!  The defense gave up huge yards!  And yet, the Ravens offense has played like trash the entire season!  Their inability to score TD's (for whatever reason you would like to give) has been glazed over by many for the sake of; "Just get the win, regardless of how ugly it may be!"  Sure, I agree...with that to a degree!  I agree that wins are hard to come by and you got to take them as they come...however they come!  But at some point...reality has to kick in!  Cause sometimes your luck runs out and you don't always get a ugly win but a ugly loss instead because of how you've played on a weekly basis.  Tonight's game is case and point for me!

I think we need a new offensive coordinator. This team NEEDS to become more offensively dangerous and as happy as I was to see Cam Cameron get fired last season...Jim Caldwell was not much of an upgrade, he has been around great offensive players and systems throughout his career but has never had the coordinating experience in the NFL. The thing he did differently from Cam Cameron was let Joe Flacco loose give him a long leash and play his game which Cam Cameron always had to run the 2 minute offense and call Flaccos plays through the headset and always stalled our offense in general. And we all saw what happened when you put the ball in Joes hands. But Caldwell is really nothing spectacular...but he is OK and if for some reason we keep him thats fine...I think it is more of a personnel issue and a lack of weapons on offense anyway.  I still think Flacco has some developing to do as well...how tired are we all of hearing Joe's one and only audible "ALASKA!!!" I think Flacco needs to keep obtaining more and more control of the offense and hopefully we can become more creative than just run plays and hail marys all the time...we need a intermediate passing game and obviously that has not been there this year because Im pretty sure no one has had more 3 and outs than our offense...(or we have to be close).

Since 2008 the Ravens have always been a pretty mediocre offense and have never had grade A talent to work with either..Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Boldin and D-Mase didnt hurt though. But I just think we need to build around our offense and become more explosive and consistent.

Im not saying we are rebuilding...I still go with reloading moniker  because we have a great foundations to build around-Flacco, Rice, Torrey, Pitta, and on defense we have some young rising stars accompanied with a couple great vets. We just really need to tune up our offense, we could have won today and many other games this year but we just DO NOT generate any type of offense...I think we have yet to produce any more than 4 offensive TDs this year in a single game. And I would really like to see some protection for our Billion dollar QB, Flacco is a beast and has never missed a game but if he keeps getting dominated like he has it wont be good for his future. So hopefully this offseason we will all see some big change when it comes to the offense.

Fire Juan Castillo. He's managed to make Marshall Yanda look pedestrian. That's how you know his philosophy needs to be replaced. And our offensive line lacks discipline.. Which is unacceptable. It's one thing to have a bad o-line bcuz of injuries and rookies but to constantly have costly penalties that kill drives and hurt out ability to move the ball is a clear sign that these guys aren't being coached the way they need to be.

Demote or fire Jim Caldwell. He's just not the right play caller for us. He's too generic. He underutilizes his playmakers. He has trouble adjusting. He never gets Joe Flacco in a rhythm. He just doesn't dial up the right plays, especially in crucial situations. Look at today when we had 3rd & 1 inside the 5yard line against the Patriots 28th ranked run defense. He called two pass plays, one of which joe audibled into a run. And its a shame what Ray Rice's role has become in this offense. He may not be effective running behind this offensive line but he use to be a major factor in our passing game. Why he doesn't receive more targets is beyond me. I think this is a prime example of Jim not being the right guy.

The Chargers are easily the best of the 8-7 AFC teams. Plus I love the whole Eagles home opener rule thing lol.

My goodness this game was frustrating in so many ways.

1) Why are we so predictable and so inept on offense? Run on 1st, If more than a 3 yard carry, run or screen pass on 2nd, if not, pass on 2nd, pass on 3rd. Every Single Drive! Also, the Patriots lost McCourty, Arrington, and Gregory at one point, so WHY WEREN'T WE THROWING BOMBS? ALL THEY HAD WAS TALIB! Jacoby would destroy the #3/4 CB's! And why don't we use Leach? We spend all these weeks trying to solve the running game but don't use the obvious option of putting in THE BEST BLOCKING BACK CURRENTLY IN FOOTBALL. THE ONE THAT LED RICE TO 3 1,000 YARD SEASONS??

2) Elam and McClain on Defense. Oh they break my heart. I had such high hopes for Elam when he got drafted but unless he can get it together when we HOPEFULLY move him to SS once Ihedigbo leaves, I'm losing my faith in him. Also,  I just don't like McClain starting at MLB for us. He's always average and can't do anything in coverage. I really just want him to get benched for Arthur Brown. Give the Man some Experience!

3) The Refs. Yes, they made SOOOOO many bad calls, but I was bothered by their overall ineptitude. The fact that it would take them a short while to confer on penalties that they might change their minds on, and that they would throw flags, have a coach complain, and then pick it up made it worse. EITHER LET THE TEAMS PLAY OR KNOW WHAT YOUR CALLING.

4) If Michael Oher is resigned, I might cry. This man is a machine at turning out penalties. Praise the lord we found a LT in Monroe, because I can not stand next year with Oher giving away penalties like he was Oprah with cars.

5) I called for Tyrod Time, I got Tyrod Time, I was disappointed with Tyrod Time. The dude's not cut out to back up Flacco, and we need to find a relatively decent Back-up.

6) The brace is a killer. Hampered RGIII and now Flacco. I don't know if he's gonna where it the rest of the year, but there will be no solid QB play while Flacco has the brace.

7) Finally, Why is New England ALWAYS so good after a loss? Like, all the time? As soon as I saw Miami beat the Pats last week, I knew we were in trouble

Sorry but the rant, but I had to get it out. Best of Luck next week, and if we move on, bless our little hearts from being broken anymore
