Pacman Done For Season...and Career?

19 posts in this topic

I dont wish injurys this bad on anyone. It is kinda of his fault though, maybe if the NFL would have suspended him for the rest of the season like they SHOULD have then this wouldnt have happened.

I dont care what anyone says I dont see DALLAS in the playoffs. Especially considering T.O's ****ty attitude after every loss. I couldnt believe in his press conference when he said "Oh and by the way on the interception pass i was wide open." T.O is worried about T.O and I dont see how a player like that can benefit ANY TEAM,Theres a few times I have seen Flacco throw an interception or run for yardage when Heap has been wide open.. Yet I dont see heap complaining.

that's too bad. dude had Deion Sanders type talent, and if he kept his head on straight he could've been one of the greats. I guess you can say there were too many ghosts and dots for Pacman to overcome :P

I think Pacman Jones has pretty much entered the NFL Hall of Shame, particularly the section that includes Lawrence Phillips, Rae Carruth, Maurice Clarett, O.J. Simpson, Michael Vick, and pretty soon Chris Henry and Plaxico Burress will probably follow (Plax sooner than later, though).

Jerramy Stevens, anyone?

Also, I think we should remember that it might not just be his career that is over, his quality of life maybe seriously comprimised.
We should never wish that upon anyone. Pacman wasn't a bad person, he couldn't keep himself out of trouble, and didn't deserve the blessing that was a pro career in football, but he wasn't a bad person.

At least Pacman got to play a few good years. Maurice Clarett has to be one of the most disappointing cases ever in the NFL. What a waste of Talent.

Ah, can't believe I forgot Stevens and his rapist self.

And true, his quality of life may be serious affected...but so is that bouncer who was shot and paralyzed as a result of that strip club confrontation. I know it sounds horrible, but I really do think this is pretty much karma.

What goes around, comes around.

But unlike many of the guys that you listed, there was no malicious intent in his actions. He was just, for want of a better word, stupid. Painfully stupid.

Well, had Pacman actually been the one to pull the gun (the gunman has yet to be identified), then I believe that could be categorized as malicious intent.

But, we could go back and forth all day and still never agree on whether Pacman deserves this.

So, the way I see it: it's another dramatic example for kids to see what happens when you live a life of stupidity and ignorance.

I dont wish any type of injury on anyone. If its a neck injury as bad as you guys are saying then it will effect more then just his ability to play football. Thats something that will have a long term effect on his life. No one should have to live with that. Now do I feel sorry for the guy? No but I dont believe he had it coming.

Most of the major sports sites are reporting that he 'might' be done for the season, and team doctors don't consider the injury career threatening.

If we're gonna create a Hall of Shame I beg you all to PLEASE not forget the piece of scum (In my opinion) that is Leonard Little. He can get drunk on his birthday and take an innocent woman's life and do NINETY days of jail time for it PLUS play football as if nothing happened.

Absolutely disgusting.

Totally, 100% agree about that idiot.

As far as Pacmans career, consider the source. Adam Schefter always reports on the side of "drama."

I wouldnt wish serious injuries like that to anyone... That is a very sad thing, and I hope he can get better. Hopefully this will be a wakeup call to realize how lucky he was to play in the NFL, and if he can play again he shouldnt take it for granted.

Wow...this is really ironic. At first, I was mad that the commissioner allowed him back into the league, but now, I guess karma's come quick for Pacman.

I would normally not wish anyone ill in this manner, but it's hard to say that Pacman didn't deserve this after all he's done to ruin other people's lives (including his own)...[/quote]

I too thought it was Ironic that it was a neck injury and that temporarily on the field he couldn't fill his limbs. I hate to put more negative karma out there but I do think it would have been quite rewarding if he would have found himself paralyzed...

This wouldn't of happened if he was still in Tennese keeping out of trouble. And even after he got kicked out of Tenn, and Deion Sanders took him under his wing? He's been given to many chances the guy is just a bad person. Atleast he can settle down and not cause problems in life anymore i hope finds a career and matures. Unfortanute but its better then him abusing his power and making the NFL look worse, he could really hurt someone eventually.

The gunman has been in custody for quite awhile now. Sometime in early summer if I recall. The gunman also is charged with extortion, and has a sizable record. Of note, one of the dancers who helped to identify the gunman to police was thrown off of the top of an apartment building in New York City.

I'd have to look up the police report, but B.S.PN had it as a .PDF file at one time.

And Adam will indeed play.
