Are Dallas Clark's days numbered?

17 posts in this topic

Dallas Clark was active on Sunday, but didn't play one snap.  He was also not present at the walkthrough today, and it's been reported that he's not injured.  Is he on the chopping block?  With Pitta back, I don't see any reason to keep him around.  We've been fine using 2 TE's for a majority of the season.

I feel bad for him because he was somewhat consistent and got us some points. Now that Pitta is back tho..

I agree.  I think he came around pretty well after a really rough start to his time here.  But it seems he's the odd man out at this point.

i really don't see who we would be replacing him with; he's on the books, why not keep him until the season's end, there's no value in cutting him now

Taking up a roster spot at this point.  He was active, but didn't see the field once.

As Gordo said, I think he has some value in that he can find the soft spot in the red zone, and even on 3rd down for that matter.  However, we're not using him in either situation now that Pitta is back, so what is his value?

I'd like to see him stick around, but only if we actually plan on using him.

I'd love it if we could only use him in the redzone. I really don't understand why we don't.

Clark > Dickson perhaps?

Why can't we have 3 TE on the field at once?

It might be a good idea to keep him for now, insurance. Didn't play a snap but what if....? Better safe than sorry.

i really didn't understand why we didn't use him at all during the lions' game; he would've been quite good in the slot cross-route through the middle and the red zone situations; there were times when the lions left the middle so open and we didn't attack it at all; the special teams are pretty much set and played really well these last few weeks and there's no skill player that i can see us using a roster spot for

Its not like we need an extra roster spot, and we don't gain anything by releasing him other than a roster spot, so....at the very least he is an insurance policy if Pitta or Dickson gets hurt. I guess we could bring back Bajema instead, but I'd rather have Clark.

The Ravens seem to have a lot of roster spots filled by guys who aren't playing.  It seems like a weird year.

Bernard Scott has yet to even be active.

Ryan Jensen has yet to be active, and he was a prime IR candidate.

Dallas Clark is now possibly going to be inactive.

We have 6 safeties.

Just a weird roster configuration this year.

We will need Dallas Clark in order to reach the playoffs. He is sure-handed and knows how to run routes and get open when the QB is flushed out of the pocket. I'm not sure why he wasn't used at all in the Lions game but he should be used in the next two games, especially in the red zone. We cannot afford to have Dennis go down again to injury and Dallas can still contribute. Ask Peyton Manning.

I truly don't understand why he and Pitta aren't on the field at the same time when we're in the redzone. Diamond Dallas Clark is a play-maker and actually fights for the ball. In my opinion, he's being underutilized in our play-calling. Hopefully this is the Ravens trolling and waiting till the playoffs to unleash Armageddon.
