Ray Rice is considering retirement at the age of 30?

Sounds pretty par for the course, most running backs last 10 years. He has had a lot of mileage. I would love it if he retired at 30, I don't want to see him gimping around with a walker. Football is a brutal, violent sport and concussions aside, it takes a toll on the body.

Look at Barry Sanders, he left the game early, is a Hall of Famer and is still looking great. You need to know when to stop especially when you are a running back, you are getting hit on every play practically.

Agreed.  He has a ring and life changing money.  If he plays a few more years and walks away I have no gripe.  If flacco retired at 30 I would flip a table.

He will be 27 on Jan 22 so this means we'll get at least three more years out of him. Now those three years can be productive if Ozzie can get the right offensive line in place.

At times this year it has seemed that he has retired in place.

He has indicated in the interview that he has been playing hurt. I will take him at his word.

I agree.  A hurt Ray Rice clearly isn't helping us.  There are obvious OL issues, but there's still a Ray Rice issue.  I hope he takes the time this offseason to get healthy and we get shades of the Ray that we had 2008-2012.

I agree he's been awful but what alternatives do we have? Pierce looks hurt too.

How bout that Bengals player we brought in ? Is he healthy?

Scott is still injured.

He's already 30 in HB years.

Indeed. He had already touched the ball a ton before playing a down in the league.

Hope the team drafts a RB next year.

I'd say that's a definite unless we use a pick or two to move up

If not, next year is a definite

Ka'deem Carey could fall to us in the first, if we're interested in a RB that early, I do not think he will be there after Pick 40. Personally, I'd like Tre Mason, seems he would fit our schemes better and would be a better supplement to Pierce, but we've got no chance at him.
