"PLAYOFFS???? PLAYOFFS????" --------sounding like Jim Mora

I don't even want us to look past this week because our stretch run is extremely tough.....even Jacksonville with a losing record poses a threat...they have too much talent to be looking towards next season......

Truthfully, the Colts pose the biggest playoff threat to us in the AFC because they have wideouts that take advantage of our pass coverage...the key to the Ravens advancing is opening up the playbook, which we are seeing now, and controlling the clock...

...but first things first, lets get prepared for this Steelers game and put the heat on Big Ben....that plus no turnovers will decide the game........

BEAT THE STEELERS!!!!
Well lets not even worry about the colts or playoff yet. The steelers are coming to town and we need to beat them before we can even think about playoffs.
Agreed. The playoffs start on Sunday and the only other team in the league is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
First off, three months ago, we weren't even part of any playoff conversation. I think this is actually a huge step forward! ^V^
Second, the media can't predict the future, but they get paid to try. Based alone on our past performances in the playoffs and against the Colts, it doesn't look "good" for us.

But honestly, how many people thought we would even be above .500 this year, with a rookie head coach AND rookie quarterback that LUCKED (for lack of a better word) into the starting job? 8-8 would have been satisfactory for me, cuz I love my Ravens no matter what. But I'm THRILLED that we're even in the playoff race to begin with! And it's not like we're doomed to the wildcard race either! We can still top the division! This is a new Ravens team! TEAM! I love Coach Billick to death, but he just couldn't get it done again. Harbs was part of the answer, Flacco was part of the answer, Cam squared was part of the answer... IT'S A TEAM EFFORT!

The Media is just a show, and they will flip flop ten times either way in ONE WEEK if they had to. What matters is what goes on during the games. I have yet to see the roof on our potential. No one knows how far we can go, and that's the beauty of it. Weaseling your way through the playoff ranks and picking your opponents for fear of a knock-out punch is not the mark of a great team. Showing no fear, taking on all comers and knocking them down to the ground, THAT is the calling card of a great team. That is the calling card of the Ravens!
I couldn't agree with you more. We are contenders, and who would have predicted that at the beginning of this season? Not me, for sure. I'm ecstatic that our team has progressed this far. I think we can win the division, based on our play the past several weeks. We have finally come together as a team. O and D both producing. I think we are watching a legacy in the making. Joe will only get better, who knows where he will land. I think he has the potential to be one of the greatest QB's ever. We shall see. I think we are primed to beat the Steelers this sunday. GO RAVENS
I love how the bucs lost this week and there still ranked above us. thats a joke, sorry. well if we beat the stealers, every team in the NFL wil fear the birds of darkness. then the ever hating espn-rankers will have to put us in top 5!
I will bet you anything that even if we do beat Pitts, we will still rank lower in the power rankings. We are the Rodney Dangerfields of the NFL.

Because division record is the first tie breaker and by default we would hold that tie breaker.

Correct, so we need to WIN this game first, take care of the Cowboys and Jags and pray the Browns can figure things out in time to upset the Squealers... this game is not a gimme, I actually expect a tough loss :(

only because we havent beaten the browns yet.......so it would be tied

even if you beat us.....we would have to lose another game and you would have to win out

and dallas is going to be tough because its in thier stadium and they are fighting for a playoff spot and its the last game in their stadium

and if you lose that all we have to do is beat free falling browns with a third string quarterback

so its an uphill battle for you guys

If the Ravens win Sunday, they would have a 5-1 division record compared to the Steelers 4-1 division record. 5 is more then 4. Which is why they would be ranked ahead of the Steelers. Hence, "Because division record is the first tie breaker and by default we would hold that tie breaker". I wonder about you Steeler fans sometimes, you guys cant seem to comprehend whats being said to you, sometimes. Either that or your defensive for no reason. No where in my post did I mention anything beyond what would happen directly after Sunday's game.

BTW, you've still got Tenn. on your shedule. We've got a better chance of going to Dallas and winning then the Steelers have of going to Tenn and winning.

Not neccessarily. I am not going to pretend to know all the tiebreakers after that, but there is a good chance that we would hold it.

its common games

which if you lose to cowboys and we lose to titans
and then we win at cleveland and you win and jacksonville

we will be tied

then its strength of victory

your teams to look out for are eagles raiders dolphins

ours is cowboys chargers patriots

it will come down to which of these three have the better record

and right now our group leads

Ok......I have a strange feeling that our playoff run (into it and through it) rests heavily...oh so heavily on the shoulders of...(brace for the pain)...Willis McGahee. Think about it, the run game becomes extremely important in December and throughout the playoffs. Ray Rice is hurt bad enough for us to to sign Jalen Parmele (WHO?!?) off the Miami Dolphins' practice squad to "Bolstering the depth of a banged-up group". McClain and Rice have been been working their butts of taking most of the snaps and most of the hard hits, bump, bruises, and threats to injury with Willis McGahee waiting in the wings. Willis used to do more than impress us, but now he has done nothing but let us down. I am the biggest advocate for Willis MCGahee. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the first time NFL network announced we got him. I was chillin with my girlfriend, a bunch of Steeler fans, and a MD born Rams fan. I jumped up on my white couch with my shoes on singing the "We got McGahee. We got McGahee." song. At the time I was thinking, from Jamal Lewis to Willis McGahee = Upgrade. Now, I'm thinking how can we get Jamal back. (My first pick for RB was actually Mike Turner who was going to be a FA. Not so crazy an idea now is it?). We have some guy names Matt Lawrence who's mind bending speed (4.39) bares my interest.

I found a vid on Matt Lawerence outa UMASS
1:50 is where he shows that speed.

No! We NEED Willis to step up!! No more being a liability, no more being unreliable, it's time be our secret weapon on Offense. What happened to the guy that would break your ankle, then break you facemask with the nastiest stiff arm the league has ever seen. Willis should be in street fighter with Ryu's "Hadouken" (which is Japanese for "surge fist").

It's time Willis got his SWAGGER back!!!
