Joe Flacco's Knee

227 posts in this topic

No word from the league on that play.  Harbaugh said he was sure they would review it.  League went out of its way to comment on the blindside block of the Bengals' punter when he got a busted jaw saying he's a punter and a defenseless player (although moving in the direction to cover punt return).  What about the Brady rule and the dirty play on Joe's knee?  No harm, no foul?

The FO can say what they want, but I'm all in that Joe had pictures taken. Probably just a minor sprain/strain or he wouldn't be on the field.

It is what it is.

I think he'll be fine even w/ the brace.  Patriots are actuall pretty decent at getting to the QB (especially Jones).  So hopefully the OL continues their strong pass blocking for their QB.

Major update from Adam Schefter: "MRI on QB Joe Flacco's knee revealed mild MCL sprain that will have him wearing knee brace Sunday but will not prevent from playing vs. NE."

I feel better knowing it's not a tear.

Considering the reports all day were saying that he didn't even have an MRI.  I'm glad guys like Schefter are around.  Someone that actually knows and cares about being correct.

Well this is great news. Was worried a dirty hit by a dirty team would cost us our season. Joe probably won't be able to scramble like he has been.

All well, Detroit will choke away their division, we'll win our division and get the last laugh.

...and that's what I wanted to see... an MCL sprain is nothing to mess with, but at least we're not dealing with someone's speculation.

Since it doesn't appear serious......

Was going to make a Flacco joke. But then I took a defensive lineman to the knee.

No? Ok. -_-

Its a shame because flacco has needed to scramble often to pick up key first downs.we might need to run some wildcat with tyrod vs NE.

Well, both should have been flagged.

Yeah, Joe has been making plays with his feet, and making throws on the move. Don't see how that won't be affected. Good news is the Pats can be run on.

Actually agree with this. If Flacco's scrambling ability is affected that's a pretty big deal. I also hope he's able to step into his throws.

I think we'll see a big dose of Rice first, before we attempt using the wildcat. Ray actually performed well against Detroit and the Patriots have the 31st ranked defense against the run, I believe. I expect a similar gameplan to what we have done with Chicago.

I hope that Joe heals up fast, though. I doubt Rice will have good game against Cinci.

Yeah, I am really disappointed, because Flacco has been showing off his wheels more than ever this year. I don't expect to see any wildcat tthough.

Joe Flacco, wearing a brace on his minor sprained left knee, practicing again. Watched him throw, but it was all stationary passes

I'm so nervous about this.

I think if there was anything that they're concerned about, another QB would be on the roster.  It's a good sign that we only have 2.  If we were planning on adding one, it would have happened already.

The few throws he did make looked "normal" for Flacco this past Monday night after the injury occurred.  It did not seem to affect him, and certainly didn't phase him.

Well, the first two passes he threw sailed high and wide, and even the third throw to Jacoby on 3rd and 15 was a tad high... I think he was definitely impacted by it on that drive, but I suspect he'll be relatively back to normal.

My biggest concern will be his mobility, which has been a huge asset this season.

I really felt like the passing game was starting to gain traction with the red zone offense being the final piece to the puzzle, that needs solving. We are already facing the Pats on short week, so it bothers me to hear, that Joe can only participate in limited training with his receivers.

That injury, as minor as it is, really couldn't have come at less opportune moment.

He didn't look normal to me, he was off target and (understandably) didn't look quite right stepping into his throws. But it was admittedly a small sample size and maybe we're reading too much into it.

Just watched the play again multiple times to see if he was pushed into his knee or not... Levy shot right through the line, barely touched!! The NFL is a joke.

What a joke, the inconsistencies in calling fouls is biased and rediculous, apparently it is more important who is fouled!
How many times have the Ravens had calls on them for incidental contact or they couldn't defie gravity and stop in mid air
from making contact? The NFL is really become a bush league!
