Justin Tucker

191 posts in this topic

On behalf of Bears nation, I just wanted to drop in to give praise to Justin Tucker, and also Joe Flacco for that clutch 3rd and 15 pass to Jones.

Tucker was the man though last night. No doubt.

To be honest, I was saying it was stupid to kick the field goal, and despite the Ravens offensive struggles. I thought they had a better chance of converting the 4th and 7.

Thank the lord Justin Tucker proved me wrong.

That Ravens win last night actually brought me more joy than the last two Bears wins. Not only did the Ravens just give the Bears sole possession of first place, but they also may have sunk the ship of my least favorite team in the NFL and gotten the biggest a-hole coach in the game fired.

I've been rooting for Schwartz to fail for years now. My lord is he an unlikeable and miserable guy.

Regardless, Tucker is the man, and in my book. He's the second best kicker in the game after Robbie Gould (a bit of personal bias, no doubt). If Tucker can keep doing this for as long as Robbie has, I may give him the nod. But not quite yet. lol

Good luck to you guys. You guys have a pretty classy organization, and I find John Harbaugh, Rice, Flacco, etc... very easy guys to root for. Go beat NE and CIN and pull out the division!

Do you guys still remember beginning of Tucker's rookie training camp? First glimpses of his opera singing abilities, too.

Has any other kicker ever hit the cycle?

Not sure. I know that's what Stuart Scott said

ESPN has been saying it's the first time in NFL history.

http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/80636/keys-to-victory-justin-tucker-18-lions-16

"Tucker had at least one make from 20-something, 30-something, 40-something, 50-something and 60-something yards in this game. Tucker is the first player in history to kick field goals in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s in the same game."

Yea he Tucked in right inside of the uprights. This dude is so great at what he does. How he's not a pro blower right now is a joke. But I already knew that.

He's trending big time right now from that Monday night game. Everyone loves him!

That should give him a boost in pro bowl voting I'm thinking.

He should get a lot of votes from Packers and Bears fans as well lol.  Even the players for that matter.

And he's sexy, unlike most kickers! No offense to all the Janikowskis of the league.

Which is exactly why it's a joke. The Pro Bowl is a popularity contest and that's great because you get the fans involved.  But they make it about to be something that defines careers and that's not the case. I think they should just stop making Pro Bowl Appearances a big deal in overall career status and us All Pro voting. Pro Bowl is cool for us fans to see the guys play together, but I'd honestly rather they just bring back the skills challenge. Let guys like Tucker make kicks from crazy angles etc.

But I agree he will start to get a lot of votes but he came up huge on National TV. I think the Pats Kicker is tops in voting so maybe Tucker can win the head to head battle of the Kickers lol

I agree. I don't like the fan voting at all tbh.

The skills challenges aren't exciting enough for the league so they will never bring them back. Shame really. I liked them.

I agree.  All-Pro nominations are a much better barometer.  Not perfect, but I think most of those guys are much more deserving of their status than a voted in by the fans pro bowler would be.

I really use to miss Matt Stover at one point when Graham Gano and Cundiff keep going wide right.  What was Matt Stover is Justin Tucker today.  I know that Baltimore remembering the days that the defense would shut a team down ice cold but offense could not put up enough points to sustain a lead.  The kicker "Matt Stover," would come through in the clutch and that is what Justin Tucker is doing for us Franchise kicker  with a 61 yarder.

Makes sense, considering someone would have to make 5 FGs in one game, which is uncommon enough, AND have one of them go for 60 yards, which has only happened 14 times.  Tucker is just amazing in his power and consistency right now.  I'd wager he's the only one to make both 50 and 60 yard FGs in a single game.

Also, I like the Optimus 9 nickname.  Why do all of his FGs seem automatic?  Because he's an autobot. :bag:

at 92.9% accuracy, tucker is the most accurate kicker ever.
