Is that the guy from Napoleon Dynamite? Because THANK YOU!!!

Yep.  They look more alike without Napoleon with the wig.

Ugh... because of the Redskins stupidity and losing to Dallas we are forced to watch the Cowboys in SNF in Week 17 for third straight year. SNF's Facebook confirmed that Cowboys vs Eagles will be the SNF game for Week 17.

Should have been Packers-Bears but NBC has this obsession with the NFC East.

I feel really bad for the arizona cardinals this year, they have been phenomenal this year and they are still gonna miss out on the playoffs at 11-5 I know how that feels. That's why I hate the division system they should make it just the top 6 records get in not the division winners by default and 2 wild cards.

Wasn't that the way that the 7-9 Seahawks got in a few years ago?

Terrible channel loving a terrible division. Match made in heaven if you ask me.

Looking at the score (and the lack of comments about the game), it seems I made the right call for the afternoon. I'm going to feel numb about this game for days, and seeing the Bengals dismantle the Vikings like that doesn't help things. :(

Because it's more about the markets than quality football.  They focus on the NFC East because New York, Dallas, DC, and Philly are the 1st, 5th, 9th, and 4th television markets respectively.  Gotta get those ratings.

Every time I see a headshot of Nick Foles, I keep thinking he looks like someone and I can't figure out who.

Also, please get it together Bears. Seeing one of my least favorite teams lose will make up for the DREADFUL performance we put in today and the Steelers winning...

Go Bears and hears to the Jets finally putting two wins together this season.

Poor Jets... I'm a sympathizer because I feel sorry for them. And they gave us the buttfumble.

Rex's mouth removed all sympathy from me a long time ago. I'm a Jets fan next week though.

Yep exactly and they beat the saints in the wild card, however that was only because they got home field advantage over a team with a much better record. If all four division teams go 5-11 the 5-11 top team can still win the div and get at least a 4th seed and home field advantage for the wild card. In rugby over here we just have all 16 teams go at it and then the best 8 qualify at the end of the season and the most deserving teams get home field.

Right, there were two teams with better records that didn't get in because even a terrible division had to have a representative. I think it was one of those player-strike years they just picked the top teams by conference, which makes far more sense to me.

I assume you're in the UK somewhere, or possibly Australia with the "in rugby over here" part?

Yeah in australia heh, yeah I mean why does it make sense that the awful packers/bears get in over the cardinals who beat the best team in the league in there unbeatable fortress? and cowboys and eagles are both bad too but they get an automatic homefield spot too.

I remember chargers made it 8-8 over the 11-5 pats one year for the playoffs and chargers got home field and pats were left with the off season.

Insert a thousand questions about kookaburras here.

To paraphrase someone earlier, congrats to Dallas, you just beat a 3-11 team, and that was by one point. And yet, they still have a shot at the playoffs because their entire division is, at best, barely decent.

Being the best of the worst shouldn't count for anything...

For the third straight year we get to see them choke away the playoffs on SNF in Week 17!

No way they beating the Eagles after what the Eagles are doing to the Bears.

haha, yeah the best of the worst gets to play in the playoffs at home instead of arizona who are 3rd in their div, however, that division happens to have the best teams and records in the whole league.

Romo has a reputation to uphold. It just so happens that reputation involves throwing directly into the arms of the other team at precisely the wrong moment.

I'm displeased about how this week has gone. We lose, Steelers win, Eagles are gonna win, Bengals won the division... I want week 17 to show up. I'm over this one.

I need to revive my Weird NFL Rules You Hate thread... at least they got rid of the Tuck Rule and that stupid rule from last year where you can't challenge a play if someone scores on it, or else there's no automatic review. Goodell, you listening? Go by top 6 in the conference, dude.

Talk about running up the score, Chip Kelly and the Eagles have no class. Must have learned from the Patriots.

I know we have the officiating thread but if you find it, please feel free to. I'm sure there are many things we could add after the officiating has been terrible this year.

Yeah I don't know if it's because i'm not american so I don't know the game 110% like you guys but i'm confused half the time when a flag is thrown for a holding call or a push off call or a catch being called incomplete because he didn't have full control. I think it would be better if they brought back the brutal 80's and 70's rules and keep the officials out of it as much as possible. And of course a top 6 conference system please.

It's been resuscitated. I thought I was the only one noticing really weird penalties (and a lot that I didn't even know were a thing) but clearly I'm not alone...
