Real nervous about this game

Simply have to win

OL and safeties are two biggest areas that need to step up

Can we all remember that this is a nationally broadcast game, so lots of fans will likely be viewing this thread if we are losing?

I suggest we stick to the following rules:

  1. No blaming the refs
  2. No getting mad at Joe unless there are egregious mistakes
  3. No referencing Calvin Johnson's age

That is all.

If you can get the rabble to follow one of those rules, that's progress.

If I can get myself  to follow one of those rules, I'll consider it progress :P

I hate having to wait through all the games on Sunday and all of Monday to get to a Ravens game.

Gah i hate time!

Vote to end time?

Yeah, consensus is that we all hate the wait. Just imagine what the teams are feeling. I'll bet they would all play right not for 60% of their game check just to get it over with. Well, maybe 90%.

This game has me incredibly nervous. It is the fact that we control our destiny but have to go on the road to do it. I really wish I had enough faith in the team to know that this will be a close game. I think if we get down it is going to be one hell of a long game. The last few games we won we have not had to play a guy that no matter what you do can just take over a game. One thing is for sure our defense can not have a fourth quarter lapse. If we let them in it I am not sure Calvin will be so gracious as to not merc us. Our offense has to come out like men possessed and just take them out early.

As with any game win or lose though if we go down swinging than I will be proud. If we lose conservative I will die inside let's take our shots and if we lose so what. We went down as fighters which is the true identity of this team. We fight no matter what.

I'm feeling really good about tonight.

Pitta & Suggs have huge games. 27 has his best game.

Let's do this

I really wish I could swap. I would love to feel really good about it, god knows I hope you are right.

Believe ? After last week I just started breathing a few minutes ago. That was the Vikings offense, this is a whole different animal. I mean I think I am pretty even keeled about joe. I think he has some moments of true shenanigans, the. He is capable of things I have never seen. If he plays like the last 4 minutes of the Vikings game than we win by 50, if he does not we are in for another game that my heart does not have the starch for. This team is capable of putting me through terror and rewarding me with jubilation.

I think it is comparable to having to pick a number between one and a hundred and if you get it right you breathe one more day if you don't you dont. The sheer manic state I am about to be in is indescribable,

12:40pm (Tuesday) game here. Which means I'll still be at work for it, sadly.

Normally I'd put the game on the tv in the office kitchen, as I can see it from my desk, but sadly the game's on cable here, so will have to resort to the drive chart on the NFL site, and this thread.

Hoping for a big effort today. If we can put on a 4 quarter version of our first half in the Superbowl, we should win it hands down. Considering that Pitta's back, and it's in a dome, I like those chances. It's time to go out and take the respect we deserve.

That said, like many of you on here, I'll take a win, no matter how pretty of ugly it is.

The Lions have dubbed this a playoff game for them and that's just perfect for our guys. We might have our struggles on the road in the regular season, but come playoff time we are true road warriors. So I hope that Doom is ampped up and ready to rock because our guys love creating those moment where as Ray said....You could hear a rat piss on cotton.

Matt Stafford much like Ryan and Romo is one of those guys I just don't trust in pressure packed situations and this game is just that. We we have a chance to get a fumble or int off him we have to take full advantage because the opportunities will come.

I also love the fact that nobody seems to be giving us a chance to win this game and we definitely respond to those odds. I've seen tweets and comments from Calvin and Nate suggesting that Elam made a huge mistake and how they'll prove a point on MNF. But you gotta love Jimmy Smith's response. "If they're gonna take that and say oh it's poster board material and now we'll play even harder....they don't have the right mentality coming into this game anyway".

I love it, the words don't matter, just play ball.

I only hope Doom respects the snap count. I do NOT want him gifting this team 5 yards trying to anticipate an edge.  No penalties today Doom.  None.

I feel good, but I don't see any of those guys (besides Pitta) having huge games.  Lions have played the run very, very well and Detroit is one of the best teams at limiting Sacks.

I see Torrey, Joe, Pitta, and our CBs having good games (relatively speaking against CJ).

Well, my lunch break will be about 20 minutes after kick-off.

I wonder if I can convince my bosss to let me work a half-day, so I can head to a pub & watch the game........?

Hopefully you have tons of company out there.

We will be listening for the O' in the National Anthem and of course the Seven Nation Army chant.

I'm surprised everyone is picking the Lions. I'm almost certain we win.

Really?

Are you a new fan ?
