It's winter in the Baltimore/Washington area and the same old story

the Ravens are pushing for a playoff spot and the Redskins are imploding.

- I can't say that i don't revel in this dynamic since i still believe jack kent cooke kept baltimore from getting a football team in the last expansion. the jacksonville decision is rearing its ugly head now.

- i do feel sorry for RG3 though. eventhough these guys get paid a lot of money they are still kids and need mentoring. this guy got thrown to the wolves and now they are embarassing him.

- another thread talked about bisciotte. the difference between the redskins and ravens is ownership. neither owner is leaving anytime soon so i like our competitve situation for years to come as compared to the redskins.

- as a lifelong baltimore fan i recognize we are a small market and susceptible to team relocation. it is important for the ravens/redskins dymanic to continue so that we can gain a larger fan base from the maryland/DC suburbs to solidify our future.

I don't feel bad for RGIII at all.  He tried to be a warrior for a playoff run and I get it, guys do it in hockey all the time.

But the kid was a moron if he thought he was able to come back 100% for Week 1.  He should have told Shanahan to shove it.  As the franchise QB and a guy they surrendered like 5 picks to move up and get, he has that kind of leverage.

RGIII may never be the same kid he was last year.

It's hard to tell who is really to blame about him coming back in week 1.  If we believe the reports from last year, RGIII wanted to stay in the playoff game even though he was already hurting and he paid for it with his knee, so it's possible that he insisted on coming back in Week 1 and since apparently RGIII is Danny-boy's golden boy, he got his way and Shanny said "Fine, whatever."

I'd be inclined to agree if Shanahan didn't have a history of playing guys when they were hurt with no regard for the player.

Also I don't feel bad for Griffin because I hate that damn read option crap those fools like him bring into the NFL.  Absolute joke.
