Matt Elam calls Megatron old

428 posts in this topic

People criticizing Elam's play need to give him some time, especially seeing as he's playing FS when really he's a SS. Everyone said Jimmy Smith was a bust in his first couple of years, now he's probably our best corner. As for the comments though, I agree he probably shouldn't have said anything.

I think Elam just learned a lesson about talking to the media. I'm sure his real quote was harmless but this will be taken COMPLETELY out of context.

Learn from it Mr. #EatGreedy

Seems like another quote taken out of context.

But all in all, I'm a believer of not saying anything, let the play on the field speak. I just got done talking about how we need to throw the kitchen sink at Calvin. Not give him more reason to burn us.

Not for nothing, but the team talked every game until the SB, during the playoffs. I like a little chatter, depending on who its from and what they say. I still remember Boldin before the Patriots. "We'll make it different". "We'll win".

I wouldn't read too much into it.

What is happening to these boards

This is what happens when we let the trolls run wild...soon enough, normal sensible people will be the minority here.

Yeah, especially after the game.

Lol you're screwed now

You don't piss off MEGATRON

I doubt Megatron cares what a snot nose rookie says lol....I fear for Elam's (professional) life though

Ok so within the first paragraph of the article he describes him as "Big, Fast, Athletic, Unstoppable, Freak".....obviously nothing was taken out of context

I agree!

I wish people would wait and stop praying for the downfall of our own (rookie) players! Not saying don't criticize mistakes, but damn! Calling bust already! If he shows up big after some time I hope the doubters own up to their comments. Smh!

I agree with you. His arms are to stumpy to cover anyone. He is more in the 4th or 5th round range, not 1st!

Coverage ability based on arms? LOL

Abe Elam did nothing in this league, why did Ozzie think Matt would?

By that logic, Eli should be a QB that puts up good stats every week because that's what Peyton does.

And Roethlisberger is smart because he has a big head.

Matt elam is an idiot.

My least favorite pick in years

Now he says a 28 year old all universe wr is old?

well..matt elam..you are a bust.

You also said Jimmy Smith was a bust, and now he's tearing it up.  So when you say DBs are busts it just means it'll take them a while to be a stud.

I cant believe all these people trashing Elam. He's a rookie who has stepped right into a starting role. He has not played nearly bad enough to be considered a bust. A sure tackler whose ball skills will come along with time. Jimmy Smith sucked until the playoffs last year, give it some time. And these comments are being blown way out of proportion. I doubt Calvin is going to play any harder because a rookie thinks he is "old". It's humorous because if it was supposed to be an insult (i dont think it was) its a crappy one.

he's a rookie and still learning his role and playing a position that is not his natural position . he did slip on the Patterson td. no rookie comes out of school and play like hof players and he certainly is not a bum .

Not only that, the field was snowy and icy...  no one was able to maintain their footing on that field, hence why the game ended the way it did...  no one was able to maintain footing...    This is ridiculous that people are picking apart a kid for trashtalking an opponent the week before a game...  He was AMAZING at FL...  He will be a great raven.

I'm with you on those first 3 lines.Elam and Brown are my least favorite high picks in years. It's still too early to call him a bust though....

you shouldn't be surprised. After all, there are people that said he would be a bust based on the height of his cleats.

I think when Elam is moved to his natural position of ss he will succeed. Brown I see developing to be a Daryl Washington type lb when he finally starts getting time on the field. Might not see it now, but I think the first 3 guys selected become very solid players. I still don't know why Brandon Williams doesn't get more time.

I like Cleats Elam exceedingly little and it was ridiculous for him to call an All Pro old.  Johnson will take Cleats ball like candy from a baby.  That assumes Cleats will be anywhere near the play anyway.

There are people who watch guys like Flacco play and think he is mediocre....some people are just clueless

Yes, I'm real scared of retribution. Like when Ayanbadejo called the Pat's offense "a gimmick", resulting in them scoring a measly 13 points.

How is he a sure tackler? Not in the NFL at least , so far

Megatron is a different monster.Dez Bryant simply mentioned that he was on the same level as him and he went off for 14 catches 329 yards and a td.It was the second best receiving day in NFL history.

He's hit(literally) or miss in that department lol....

Until this past game, Elam has been mostly reliable as a tackler.

Dez Bryant talked smack. You saw what happened.

All this means is that Megatron will finish with more tackles than Elam bc of all the interceptions that Stafford will throw
