WR Cordarrelle Patterson

Cordarrelle Patterson was the guy I thought we should have traded up for in round 1.

His line from the Ravens game, you may have seen it.  Looks like the real deal to me. He would complete our receiving core.

I was just as scared of facing him as I was AP heading into the game.

Don't know how he fell that far. His potential is big.

He was considered a boom or bust prospect, due to how raw he was coming out of college. He was by no means a safe pick, but it certainly has worked out well for the Vikings thus far.

To be honest, I didn't agree with the boom or bust label on Patterson. He wasn't a finished product at Tennessee, but I considered the tools he flashed on a weekly basis to be translatable to the next level. His open field vision and elusiveness were already at an elite level, and while he wasn't natural pass catcher, he put enough on tape to show that he wouldn't be a liability on the down field throws. I'll give all the credit to Ed_Reed20 for putting him on the map for me.

MUCH RATHER have Keenan Allen had him in all of my mock drafts last offseason...legitimate rookie of the year candidate. 61rec 961yds and 5TDs with 3 games left and we could have had him for a THIRD ROUND PICK.

I'd say Ozzie missed on that one and I'd much rather have him than Elam right now, but at the same time we need to see how his career progresses.  He dropped because of serious injury concerns, and he certainly hasn't cleared that label yet.

Yea Ozzie has missed out on a lot of talented WRs the past few drafts and hopefully we take a more talneted one this year instead of wasting time developing players and taking risks on UDFAs although Marlon Brown was a steal. Our $120M QB just needss the weaponry
