Stadium Seating Help

9 posts in this topic

Diehard Patriots fan here but somehow have raised a rabid Ravens fan. Needless to say, it was brutal in our house last year during the playoffs.

Trying to be a great mom, as a surprise for Christmas I am taking him and his cousin from Massachusetts to Baltimore for the Patriots-Ravens game. I'm looking at seats in Section 130 so he can be somewhat near the Ravens bench to see the players. Does anyone know what row the view would be the best to be close but still see the field?

I didn't realize the tickets were going to cost more than the hotel and airfare so I want him to have a good experience.

We went to Lambeau Field once and thought we had bought great seats but we were so close to the players, we could not see over them or the camera men.

More importantly am I going to be safe wearing my head to toe Patriots gear as long as my 17 year old is dressed head to toe in his Ravens gear? Hey, we all can't be Ravens fans. Then there wouldn't be any competition or fun.

Thanks friends.

You sure he can't convert you? Lol.  also you will not know until Tuesday if the game is flexed from the 830 game to something else. Both teams are battling for the playoffs so hopefully the time won't change. There is no bad seat in the house I sit in the endzone lower bowl and am happy 14 rows up. If you need it the smart vision boards are awesome

You should be able to see the player intros, cheerleaders ( important for a teenage boy ) behind the bench and best of all the game! Honestly if you are not a jerk the people around you will not be either.

Section 130 is great.  We are 230.  :D

Being close to the players yet having a great view is a bit of an oxymoron.  To really get a perfect view of the stadium and not feel down in the trenches, you need to get higher in the first level.  Being low is nice to see the players, but you really don't get to take in the whole atmosphere until you step back and up a bit.

The first level is pretty flat towards the bottom, even more so in the end zones.  You will definitely stand more in the lower levels the closer you get to the field.

I have been all over the stadium and for me would rather be about halfway up the first level if you want to be near the players.  Lucky for your 17 year old son, he will have a group of cheerleaders in front of him all game.   :plus-un2:   The players will come out through the other end zone but will run down to the end zone in front of you.  IMO, the west side end zone is better than the east side (band side).  The fans are more rabid and louder.

As stated before, the fans will be good to you, but you will be heckled if wearing a Brady or Gronk jersey.  Often times the fans that get harassed are ones who are asking for it.  ;)

Thanks EricH and Moderator 2 for replying. I appreciate the great advice. I understand what you are saying Eric....we couldn't see a thing at Lambeau being so low.

Thank you Moderator for the info about the possible time change. Good to know.

Sorry, he cannot convert me. I've been a Pats fan for as long as I can remember. Even survived living in Chicago when the Bears trounced the Pats 46-10 in '86. Finally had some good years and enjoying every minute of it.

He has a Miami fan, a Vikings fan, 4 Dallas fans, 2 Patriots fans, and yes even 1 fan of the Bills, among his uncles and cousins. We love football, passionate about our teams and Sundays are not too quiet, to say the least.

I'll definitely be respectful of the Ravens fans on their home turf.

Thanks again, I'm really looking forward to it. Best of luck with the rest of your season.

My wife is from the Boston area. Born and raised. Been a Pats fan since she was little.
She disowned them after the Suggs Brady incident.
She said she can't be a fan of a team with such a sissy girl on their team.

Loyal Ravens fan since.

Conversions are possible. ;)

Been officially flexed to a 4:25PM start.

Me personally, I have enjoyed sitting in the 500 section for the past two seasons. Though make sure it is on the sideline, best view of the whole stadium.

Yes, we took in a Ravens/Steelers game back in the late 90's from section 553.  We were just a couple rows up.  Wonderful view!

I actually do miss the view from the fifth level.  We had seats in 549 for years.  The skyline at night with the field below... B)

Jo_75 ......Thanks for your responses and suggestions about the 500 section and for advising me of the time change.

Erich H......Thanks for your input on the 500 section as well. It does look like a great view of the game.

Moderator 2......Thanks for your well wishes.

K-Dog ..Thanks for your response as well. I respect everyone's right to cheer whatever team they want. That's what makes football so much fun. I will say, however, that my Sissy Girl sure can play football. :football:
