Yes but you have to adjust to what the circumstance was under, calling a 3 man rush with wide 9 was obviously illogical if you were following the flow of the game.

It wasn't a prevent defense.  See, prevent defenses are stacked three, four, and four.  We didn't stack three, four and four during Minny's two minutes drill.  We stacked four, three and four with one of the four coming back to the three and one of the four coming up to the three.  It was an attempt to confuse the offense.  Apparently it confused you.

Not necessarily. On third and nine, when the pass rush had done zilch all game with four rushers, why bother having a fourth guy rushing? Might as well just drop another guy in coverage because we weren't getting to Caseel either way. Sucks to say it but Suggs, Upshaw, and the whole DL couldn't do a thing on passing downs. Cassel ripped us when he did because there was no pressure, even when we did blitz or rush four.

IT WASN'T A THREE MAN RUSH!!!!  It was a disguised four man rush with one guy dropping back and another guy coming up with the rest zoning in the middle and the back!!  What aren't you getting about that?  We were trying to setup their offensive line to anticipate blocking one guy while another guy takes his place and cuts through the gaps created by the confusion.  We didn't get there, but we DID have guys in place who SHOULD have made the play and they whiffed!!  That's not on Pees, that's on them!

No, tell me what you would do. And two deep actually isn't a bad thing to do. Two deep safeties could stop the RB if he gets through the other nine defenders... which they didn't do. Yawn.

You don't think the sudden decline in pass rush efficiency has anything to do with Pees coaching?

But that draw play call was horrible...

Pees is responsible for more than just scheme.

Practice. Basic fundamentals. He's in charge of teaching them that . Tackling. Something we are lacking....


He's supposed to establish those. Something we aren't showing..

It's on both parts but really it's sad.

Plus he's a little too conservative for me liking.

Pass rush looked great in the first half of the year when Suggs had nine sacks in fewer games... Yawn... Doom almost has ten too. Btw, we're in the top five in sacks. You're out of your element.

If a player can't tackle by the time he reaches the NFL, it's not the DC's fault, it's on the player.

Defense not closing is definitely a serious problem and needs to be fixed if we want to go back to the promise land

IT.  That's my whole point there, Einstein.  You've been insinuating that it's the scheme while I've been saying it is the players.  They had a chance to make the plays with the play call that was put forward and they themselves did not make it.  Not because of the call, but because they missed.  All starters in there, so who would you put in there?   Third stringers would have definitely made the play right?  You're clueless, sir.  Just clueless.

No, but that's what the safety position is designed for. The safety position was invented to be a safety net to stop anything that got passed the other defenders. Hence the name "safety." Come on buddy!
