I was just flipping through PFF and decided to turn immediate attention to Calvin Johnson. Only four teams have really limited him (less than 50 yards) and they were Philly in the snow, Cleveland, Minnesota, and the Bears (Johnson was limited in one match up with each, not both). Those teams combined to allow 14 catches on 31 targets for 155 yards and a touchdown. Does anyone know what exactly these teams did, as opposed to Dallas who allowed him to catch 14 of 17 passes for 329 yards and a touchdown? Obviously Johnson has been tremendous is most games, failing to reach at least 100 yards just five times. How did those teams do it and how do the Ravens replicate that success?

Beat the crap out of Stafford and make them sitting on the bench long with our long extending drive with scores....

I'm actually scared of this team. They are athletic, something our team doesn't handle all that well.

Considering how badly this team scared me on Sunday against a 3 win Minnesota team (and the Bills and the Browns and the Bears and the one win Steelers), I'd be afraid of any opponent.

I see a Dome and Flacco going crazy with a chance to play sans a weather factor.

Ravens 35 Lions 21

What does that mean?

Who should we start Huff? We should get him back from the Broncos Lmao. Elams a SS playing FS. He wasn't really drafted for his deep coverage abilities. Ihedigbo isn't playing so great either

I know Elam will start...Im just saying if he plays the way he did yesterday with poor tackling and terrible coverage he will get destroyed by megatron. He has to step wayy up and play harder than he ever has. Calvin had 329 receiving yards in a SINGLE GAME earlier this year he  and Stafford could single handedly  beat us if our secondary doesnt step up. This will also be a career making game for jimmy smith. If Smith holds Megatron the way he held Brandon Marshall a couple weeks ago it will be a huge ego boost for him and finally make a name for himself as a bigtime shadow CB.

They have Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush who are absolute freaks and destroy defenses...hopefully Bush is either out or still hurt from his different injuries...if I was a CB in the NFL there is no WR that scares me more than Calvin Johnson...6'6" 260lbs  4.3 blazing speed with rediculous instincts, route running and overall ability...this a career defining moment for some of the guys in our secondary.

Bell is pretty good too. I have a feeling we'll have trouble defending the run. Which doesn't bode well defending Calvin.

if they don't light us up early, they will certainly light us up in the 4th quarter. Let's just hope our offensive line can handle their interior rush and Flacco is playing sharply

I'm growing more and more confident in our offense. Marlon really stepped it up last week and I'm expecting him to do so again. Return of Pitta. And Torrey should get open more. (Needs to cut the drops though). Jacoby & Stoke could play big roles too if we spread it out.

Detriot's secondary doesn't scare me at all. Only thing that does is their DLine. So I'm confident we'll be able to put up points against them. If we can run efficiently that would be a bonus.

I think it's gonna be another close game that will probably come down to the final minutes.

Means the chance to know the ball is going to go where you aim it with no wind, no rain, no snow.

Again, it will be determined by which Raven team will show up.

Lions have great offensive weapons, let's hope whatever defensive game plan we execute - that we can stop 81 - he is pretty great, always gets clear and actually catches the ball! If we put multiple secondary , that leaves openings for their running game. The Vikes should have NEVER made those end of game plays.

Watch out for Suh. He is big, tough and dirty. O line needs to step up big time and give Joe what he needs most = time.

Can't wait!!

Go Ravens!

could we theoretically drop this game, win the next two and still get in the playoffs?

Yeah.  as long as we have the same record Miami.  Not sure about the tie breakers with San Diego though.

i'm not TOO worried about them. they're already a game behind us and still have to play broncos and chiefs.  i see them dropping out of the race.

Well realistically if we tie with Miami we have the tie breakers.

It means The Flacco gets to play in a dome for once. Last time he did that, we won a SB. Coincidence? I think not!

No. We need all 3 wins. That is how to play like a Raven. I absolutely despise this bend but don't break instead of breaking their back... play not to lose instead of play to win... when we do win we make just enough plays to win instead of kicking the opponents teeth in!

Don't mean to rant but we are better than we display out there. We should be destroying teams but too cute and conservative to just crush the opponent. Hopefully as the chemistry improves with our new and young Ravens, and we add a couple pieces (C, RT, FS, TE) we will get that killer instinct...

We need all three wins.

I think this game will be a shootout. Our pass-rush will have to step up if we want to have any chance against the Lions offense.

Flacco needs to have a big game too, because I can't envision our rushing attack doing much against that DL.

If Bush plays the Ravens are going to have a lot of trouble containing him. If the ball isn't going to Calvin you know Bush is going to get the ball. We need to pressure Stafford and cause TURNOVERS! He loves throwing that ball, Doom and Sizzle need to put pressure , so we can get our hands on the ball which we haven't done enough of. Also if we can run the ball this week. It will open up holes in that defence and will allow for that play action.

Yeah, Bobby seems to fit TB. I keep checking to see how he has done and glad he found a place for himself.

Onto Detroit and hopefully keep using Marlon Brown especially in Red Zone plays.
