Next up: The Detroit Lions

I feel like the offense shows up this game and the defense does enough. I think they get up for this game and can't wait to see the Calvin vs Jimmy match up. This will be the toughest game left I think. If they can win this one I say the team wins out, unless they make playoffs by week 17 and rest the starters.

We need to bracket that beast of a man

Man? He's not even human lol. Jimmy Smith will have his hands full against the alien also known as #81.

I'm the biggest Jimmy Smith fan, but it will not be Jimmy v Calvin one on one. I would be shocked if that were the case

Bush might not be ready for us, calf is not trivial injury to overcome. Also Ansah injured his shoulder and didn't come back. Those two are huge for Lions.

Bush, yes. Ansah they can do without. He's missed a ton of games this year.

Even if Bush is out, they don't miss a beat with Bell.

I have a feeling this game won't be close. I'm just not sure who wins. However, since both teams tend to play games down to the wire, I'm most likely just an idiot with a misguided feeling.

Detroit is on a 2 game losing streak and "I hope they keep it up," because we are up next and we are on a 2 game winning streak and Detroit is on our way.  So watch out  motor city were coming to win....

Jimmy vs Calvin.

What I'm most looking forward to.

Hopefully, Jimmy AND Lardarius. Megatron's hard to stop in double coverage, let alone in single...

I think the key to out offensive game planning needs to be the plays where Flacco takes the snap, fakes the handoff, and almost immediately rolls out to the opposite direction with a receiver/tight end/both crossing the middle in traffic. He's made great throws on the move and it would help us avoid the dangerous D-Line that is Detroits from getting up in his grill right off the bat, it would also allow us to hopefully open up some kind of running game. If the pass protection holds up, we could take some shots down the middle.

On Defense, I think it starts with pressing Megatron at the line of scrimmage all day. No reason not to; if we don't, he can and will take over the game. Outside of that, their #2 receiver (in terms of production) is Bush, so that goes to show how well they pass the ball without 81. Sack production will need to come, and we can't call any more prevent defense BS with Megatron roaming the field.

Go Ravens

Make that a 3 game winning streak! Anyway I think we can win this one, I think Pitta will be better for the run today and it will open up the game for us.

This is a tough match up for us.  Jimmy needs safety help basically the whole game on Megatron, and our guys back there aren't exactly sound in coverage.  We have got to generate pass rush and force turnovers.  Stafford is mistake prone, we can't drop INTs and expect to beat them.  On the plus side, the only serious threat besides Megatron is Reggie Bush.

with Pitta back and Rice showing life signs we could take the game to the Lions; now if the D decides to show up to the game too, then we'll have no problems; so 30-19 Ravens win

I hope Elvis is back. We really need a pass rush

Elvis would definitely help, but Sizzle needs to find his stride. I don't know, maybe he's nicked in some way that we don't know about, but he's been pretty much invisible.

For me, this is the key to the game. If we can't get consistent pressure on stafford, we will be in trouble.

Or we can just have Jacoby score a touchdown every kickoff ^_^  :lol3:

Let's hope that he doesn't get that chance too often.

I think some people are putting Detroit on a bit of pedestal.  They are 7-6, just like us.  We have a fire to our back on a three game win streak, they've lost two straight.  They are another team you have to ask the question, can they win the games they have too?  There is pressure on them.

Grant it, Detroit is a much better team at home.  But we all know we can go on the road and beat much tougher teams than the Lions.

Actually we've won 3 straight games... but yesterday's game could be what propels us into our playoff run.

On paper, the Lions' D-line against our O-line is the mismatch of the year, but stranger things have happened... as we saw yesterday ;)

Correct!

I heard a good point.  Lions D-line gets caught up too much in the emotion of the game.  If things are going the Lions way, they play stellar.  But if things are going bad, they check out.  It's a pretty valid point.

Have to get up early and deflate them fast.  Especially since the opportunity is there for a team reeling after two straight losses.

I believe that our defense will play well however it's our pitiful and pathetic O-line that bothers me going into this game.  They have been horrible all season long with pass protection, run blocking and on 3rd downs.  And now they have to face both Suh and Fairley.  Those cats are relentless!  Get your running legs ready Joe!

Exactly!  Detroit can be turnover and penalty machine.  They obviously have offensive talent to put up points, but are undisciplined overall.

Football is all about emotion, confidence, and belief; if all three elements are clicking, we will get the result like last year...

Yesterday game is pretty much locked up the three element engine which is ready to be ignited for a ride to the paradise.....

PS: That was one of our best ever games......My throat is still hurt from screaming at the TV....

I know our track record isn't very good either.  But look at Detroit's home games this year:

MIN : Win 34-24

CHI:  Win 40-32

CIN: Loss 27-24

DAL: WIN 31-30 (Took a crazy drive at the end of the game to do so)

TMP: Loss 24-21

GB:  WIN 40-10 (Against Noodle Arm Flynn on a short week)

Nothing there should have us shaking in our boots.  Three of the wins were divisional games.  Tampa & Cincy were both able to go into Detroit and win.  Dallas could have easily won as well.

If anything, I'm most worried about what Ravens team will show up not about the team we are about to face.

I'm leaning this way as well. I don't get all the Lion love tbh.

They've beat:

Washington

Bears

Cleveland

Dallas

Greem Bay without Rodgers

They've lost to:

Green Bay with Rodgers

Arizona

Pitt

TB

Philly

I'm not seeing the powerhouse everyone is making them out to be.

I see a Dome and Flacco going crazy with a chance to play sans a weather factor.

Ravens 35 Lions 21

agree 100% it's a winnable game It will be nice to play without weather impacting players and the game . I could be wrong but I think we win out and take the division .even if it means I have to cheer for the steelers .

We should just bench Elam now...but talk about a career making game for Jimmy Smith if he can shut down Megatron a little

Who should we start Huff? We should get him back from the Broncos Lmao. Elams a SS playing FS. He wasn't really drafted for his deep coverage abilities. Ihedigbo isn't playing so great either
