Just wanted to say kudos to all the classy Lions fans like Megatron that have dropped by the forums. Here's to a good game and healthy outcomes for both teams, hate to see significant injuries this late in the season for any teams' purposes going into the next year.

There's a lot of facts that make me optimistic for the Ravens chances (Flacco having a 90.5 qb rating in 7 career dome games, Chris Houston and Darius Slay two of the Lions' solid corners missing from the already 25th ranked pass defense) but our team has to go out and execute which they've had problems with all year, especially on offense and 4th quarter defense. I expect a fairly close game, I just hope the Ravens are the ones who come out on top. Good luck to a degree Lions fans, haha.

Btw how bad is your Oline exactly? Unless its absolutely terrible, I think Flacco is going to torch us like you guys havent seen Flacco do all year.

With our top two CBs on the bench, the lions coaches wont trust their backups enough in coverage to dial up blitzes. We are only going to rush more pretty much all game, trust me.

Do you giys have two good TEs or just the one?

1) Lions have seen more max protect by far than any other team in the NFL, I guess other teams think we habe the best front in football. This is why we dont have many sacks on the year.

2) check out Flaccos average release time, he will be getting rid of the ball much much faster than that tonight. Expect to see a lot of slants from your team as our CBs will be playing off coverage, and if your OC is worth his salt, you guys will absolutely kill us with crossing routes.

3) I will be very surprised if you guys get 50 total yards rushing on the day, but you won't need to rush. Now, if Flacco holds onto the ball longer than about 2.6 seconds on average, Lions will win this game and your OC should be fired at seasons end. But the most likely scenario is you guys have a extra blocker and Flacco gets rid of the ball fast all game long, if thats the case, this will be your best offensive showing all year. Our backup CBs are very very bad. We have good safeties but they are playing injured. You guys are going to light us up big time.

We are one of the least penalized teams in the league. Suh has like 4 penalties in 2 years. 1 of which was questionable and only a penalty because of a minor rule change this year, the other 3 honestly were phantom calls. So dont buy the whole "rile up the liojs and they will go crazy and get ejected frkm the game" thing fans of every team seem ti like to say aint going to happen. The media really likes to make crap up and run with it. Obviously you know because of Elam (although that did strike a cord with CJ as i explained in my last post). For some reason the media likes conjuring narratives if the lions are involved its weird.

Well, the middle of our line is atrocious, and Oher can make my grandmother look like Jared Allen, so....I just hope Suh doesn't maim Flacco.

An early Christmas gift would be three TOs by Stafford and a lost fumble by Bush. Keep sendings those wish lists to St. Nick!

I think we can win if he's not our ref looooolllll hes so annoying

superbowl_referee_2013_jerome_boger_more

ha ha!  been annoyed with him for what feels like years now.   my sister and always shudder when he steps onto the field with THAT look, about to utter some mystery penalty.   at any rate, i expect a fair amount of called penalties for both teams tonight. let's hope it doesn't get too chippy out there and we watch the false starts (oher)

Gang, if we look weak tonight and lose. I am going to tune-out for the last 2 games. There is no excuse for poor play this late in the season.

I am so glad I'm not the only one! The BF laughs at me when I moan whenever I see this is the referee! It doesn't matter what game I'm watching either! Can't stand him!

Now, that just made me nervous though because I seem to recall our last meeting with Detroit setting some record for penalties. Ugh.

Kudos to you guys too. I'm a huge Lions homer, and it clearly shows, and you've all been really cool desite having every right to toss me out if you really wanted to lol this being your forums and all. Imo it's cool hanging out with the enemy some, in the end you can really learn a lot about football, and overall makes the game more interesting. I've never been around Ravens fans before, I've never looked at any Ravens forums or anything... I can say you guys are definitely one of the better fan bases out there. I'm glad it was you guys who won it all last year, and I hate the 49ers (you guys have the right Harbaugh brother).

I've been to other teams forums were I have treaded much more lightly than I have here, and even displaying the slightest optimism for my team got them enraged and I was quickly banned. Bears fans are the worst, if you don't think Alshon Jeffrey or Brandon Marshall is the best WR in the NFL and is the 'real' Megatron they'll slap your mother and spit on your ancestors graves haha.

@flaccopoe, you might just get your wish, we are coughing the ball up like crazy lately. Hopefully for my sake, the Lions hold the ball a little tighter and look passes in a little better while under the bright lights of a must-win game.

The refs have been just crazy this year, I don't know what the deal is. I can't recall a year that has been anywhere near this bad with blown calls, and just plain phantom calls. It's especially odd, and some what concerning, that some games the refs seem to just let the teams play football, but then start throwing flags like crazy at perfect junctures in a game to tip the scales for one particular team. Hopefully we get none of that tonight.

This time last year we got blown out by Denver.

As for tonight, I'm pumped to say the least, I can't wait to see how this one shapes out, with us coming out on top of course.

Lions fans feel the exact same way.

With our road to the playoffs becoming much more difficult with GB and chicago winning yesterday, we actually are in more of a must-win than you guys are. The Lions are going to play hard, the fans are going to be extremely loud (enough to rival Seattle, I'd bet), and you'll notice everybody in the stands wearing honolulu blue as we are going to have a 'blue out,' everybody is really piling on to support the Lions here.

Then you are no real fan. If this team had dropped it's last 4 games and ended up at 3-10 you would still see me here analyzing and discussing the upcoming games. You stick with the team no matter what if you want to consider yourself a fan.

Bleed purple always or don't bother.

He just feels that way, he doesn't mean it, win our lose he will be here I bet ;) A lot of Lions fans are like this.

if we HAVE to drop one of these last 3 games, it might as well be tonight, to a non-conference opponent.  anyway, would rather detroit hand us a L then the *expletitive deleted* patriots.

having said that,  GO RAVENS!

I deal with high pressure situations every day and I'm normally very even emotionally. Just sumthin' 'bout dem Ravens hon!

You can never be sure of any win, but I don't see us losing tonight due to lack of effort. If we get beat, so be it. I just want to see some hair on fire, smash mouth football out of these guys and I think the rest will take care of itself.

I was gonna post this exact sentiment. If we lose, I just hope they give it there all and don't phone in a performance.

Hot damn! If you COMBINED Alshon and Marshall, maybe the result would be something close to what Megatron is. I'm all for being a homer and supporting your guys, but you have to draw the line somewhere. Lol!

That line is real, it's when my Lions swept the Bears this season haha

Congrats on getting Dumervil back, I was really hoping he felt like he needed another week to rest up. We got Ziggy Ansah and Bush who were both questionable. Gonna be a good game!

Well, like many of the other guys this year, lord knows which version of Dumervil shows up tonight.
As a Ravens fan, it's a shame that DET's OL seems significantly better this year than in past years....the DET lines of past would have gotten beaten up pretty bad by our front seven.

Cover your ears real quick....this is to the Ravens fans here......

Suggs is getting two sacks tonight. You heard it here first

I'll believe it when I see it.  I sure hope so.  But like you said this is a tougher match-up.

I think if anyone is getting two sacks its Dumervil.  He gets to go against a rookie RT.

I am more nervous about Joe's health than Pitta. The Lions defense line is very talented. Add to the fact the Raven's suspect o-line play & their inability to pick up blitzes. Could be a long day.

I was just reading where despite Fairley, Suh, and Ansah, the Lions are near the bottom of the league in sacks, it's their run D that's among the best.

If the O-Line plays reasonably well tonight, Joe might just get the time he needs to exploit the Lions' weak secondary.

Last I saw, they were 8th in run D, which is pretty stout.

Fortunately for us, it's not like we count on running the ball anyway..

Actually, I think Suggs has spent more time on that side this season. Dumervil can't play the run well, so I think they put him on the weak side and Suggs on the strong side. They switch sides often as well. I think they'll both get chances to tee off on that RT.

Maybe Megatron will correct me if I am wrong, but DET has a noticeable tendency to roll protection to the right an awful lot, at least from what I've seen...they will pay dearly if that trend continues tonight
