Week 14 - Baltimore Ravens vs. Minnesota Vikings

They also put the Chargers ahead of us, though. Their sched is not that easy.

That's interesting.  I haven't been watching ESPN so I was unaware of that.  Either way, it comes down to the Ravens.  If we take care of business, we're in.  We can't count on any other team to lose any given week.

Clark hurt? Or just a scratch?

Just a scratch.  Pitta makes him unnecessary.  I guess Pitta will be getting a lot more playing time than most of us thought.

That's probably a good sign for Pitta. It's interesting to see they're putting Dickson above Clark, however.

We'll get to see a lot of Courtney Upshaw (always a good thing, in my opinion), and maybe a little John Simon today with Dumervil out.

Dickson is the better blocker, since Clark really doesn't block at all lol.  It makes sense.  Clark fills the same role as Pitta, so it makes sense that he's inactive.  I expect we'll have all 3 active going forward, but with a higher emphasis on running the ball in this weather, Clark being inactive is no surprise if they're planning on using Pitta as much as it seems.

And yeah, Upshaw was going to see a lot of time whether Dumervil was active or not.  He's been the guy that goes unnoticed this year.  He does all of the dirty work but gets no recognition.

Good point. I don't tend to think of any of our tight ends as "blocking tight ends," but I'd be more inclined to give Dickson that label than Clark.

Exactly.  Dickson is at least adequate.  Clark doesn't block at all really, and Pitta isn't much better.

Don't like Brandon Williams being inactive. Don't like that one bit.

He's been inactive for a few games now.  He's a victim of depth.  Tyson is playing really good football right now.

Yeah, he is. Just think we need to load up on dlinemen this game.

Ugh I hate this weather, puts us at a disadvantage.

I don't know about that.  Going to be slippery out there, makes it harder for AP to make his cuts and drive his legs after contact.

On the flip side, our receivers know their routes, and the CBs will have to make the adjustments to keep up with them.  Slippery conditions = CBs on the ground and Torrey in the end zone.

True - but it's just as hard for the run stoppers... so it's an even I'd say.

This is true.   :bitenails:

I still think we won't be able to stop Peterson very effectively - but many teams have shown this season that you don't have to stop him to still be able to beat the vikings. So, my prediction is that our D will simply overscore AP.

Hmmm...

"Small crowd so far today at M&T Bank Stadium with the snow falling fast. Lot of people were trying to give away their tickets late this week" (Aaron Wilson @twitter)

That's disappointing...

Jamison Hensley

It's 15 minutes before kickoff and there's no one in the stands. Maybe 10,000 fans here at M&T Bank Stadium. #ravens #vikings

Is this actually true?

Honestly, I'd do the same thing. I love the Ravens, but I'm not going to sit in freezing temperatures and snow in order to see them beat the Vikings.

Aaron Wilson just tweeted a similar thing.

Not surprising that a lot of people aren't there.  If it was just snow, I doubt there'd be an issue.  Going to see a football game isn't worth risking your life.  It's supposed to get really icy during game time.

If I lived there I'd go to every game regardless of cold. I will say that the Texans playoff game two seasons ago SUCKED. It was so damn cold, lol
