Race to 4,000 passing yards

The whole "receiver by committee" idea is bad. The passing offense has only been able to improve after Joe started klicking with Jacoby again, who imho is still not a true #2. We really need to give Joe that consistent complement to Torrey to get higher production out of the passing game. All I see on our roster right now is a decent #1 (Torrey) and a couple #3s. Having just 1 1000 yards receiver is not a good recipe for victories.
I am getting so nervous, when I think of the next NFL draft. Oz is so defensive minded sometimes and he really needs to commit to the WR position next year. We just need to find that player to play opposite of Torrey so badly and this season shows it.

As I read this, I completely disagree with a couple of things.
First the "WR by committee" was only deemed that so that people would understand that no one player would replace Boldin's production this season alone, it would take a collective effort from all WRs not named Torrey. The idea of WR by committee isn't bad, because that would be a spread "type"offense in which the ball is spread around ( saints & packers spread it around nicely ).

I disagree that having a single 1,000 yd WR is not a good Recipe. Although the NFL has changed a million rules to make passing easier than ever and more teams are getting multiple 1,000 yd WRs than ever it is not the way to a title. The recipe I've grown up to know is the model of 1,000 yd RB , 1,000 yd WR ( if possible ) and a QB that limits turnovers. Now I'll admit I'd be ecstatic if we had multiple 1,000 yd WRs, but to be honest I'd rather have something like 1,000+ yd RB, 1,000 yd WR, 700yd TE... Because that would indicate we are attacking all levels of the field on offense.

But I do agree, Oz needs to focus on offense. When we were 4-6 I began to think perhaps we might draft high then Sammy Watkins or Marqise Lee would be options for us.

I'll agree with this, based on a point I've made before. Having multiple 1000+-yard receivers obviously means being one of the top offenses in the NFL (probably led by a QB with 4500+ yards). It's simply impossible to win with that level of offense, without having a poor defense. The more you score, the more your opponent throws it around, and the more they score. I'd rather have a consistent, effective offense that isn't breaking any records, and a top defense, than a top offense with a bad defense.
