Week 14 Discussion(Other Games)

442 posts in this topic

Week 14 is here, it is a new month of football and we still get crappy Thursday Night games on NFL Network. The lowly scrubs of the Texans and Jaguars face off in Jacksonville in the true Teddy Bridgewater bowl.

Games with Playoff Implications:

Colts @ Bengals: Both teams are 8-4, currently Indy sits the third seed with the Bengals as the fourth seed. As long as the Bengals hold on to win the AFC North(hopefully not), this game will determine who is the third seed. Colts can clinch the AFC South.

Chiefs @ Redskins: Chiefs have lost three in a row but just need one win along with a Dolphins/Ravens loss to clinch a playoff spot.

Browns @ Patriots: A Browns win will go a long way toward Denver clinching the number one seed. On the other hand, if the Broncos lose to the Titans, Patriots and Broncos would be 10-3 and the H2H tiebreaker giving them the number one seed. Pats clinch the East with a Dolphins loss, and a playoff spot with a Ravens loss.

Lions @ Eagles: Foles is this year's Kapernick and Stafford has the Lions primed for the NFC North title in what was supposed to been Jim Schwartz's final year. Both teams are 7-5 and like the Colts/Bengals could determine who is the third and fourth seed in the NFC.

Seahawks @ 49ers: Seattle isn't in Seattle anymore as they travel to San Fran to take on division rivals 49ers. Seattle can clinch the NFC West and a first round bye with a win OR Saints loss.

Panthers @ Saints: Game of the week, then again that's what we said about the Saints/Seahawks. Panthers and Saints are 9-3 each, with the winner getting the first H2H tiebreaker with their second game coming Week 16 in Charlotte in what ultimately may decide who wins the NFC South.

SNF is going to be EPIC!  Will be fascinating to see how NO rebounds from a humiliating loss to another NFC powerhouse at home.

Pitt-Mia is another big game. The loser will be on life support in a hospital that doesn't pay their electric bill.

We have to beat the Vikes this week...  I am torn on this one...  In one scenario, it would make sense to be a Steelers fan for this game...  The Phins are the only other team tied with us for the Wild Card Seed...  BUT...  I think our race should focus on the Division and hope that the Steelers lose...  It would give us more cushion in the end.

I'm definitely hoping the Phins win. We already have the tiebreaker over them, and the Steelers are the scariest of the contenders based on their schedule. Miami still has to play NE.

Don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but I think the only game New England could potentially lose now is to Baltimore. Since humiliating the Steelers, like usual, we've been the #1 offense in the league from that week onward.

Denver could potentially lose to the Chargers and, IMO, the Texans. Maybe the Titans if they capitlize on Manning being Mark Sanchez in cold weather.

Colts v Bunguls going to have interesting play off ramifications.

Jaguars up 7-0 early after a Henne 6 YD pass to Lewis for a TD.

J.J WHAT happened to this Texans D?

What a catch by Lewis. Seems Henne is once again showing he can lead the Jaguars offense but we'll see if this off-season will be different and they will trust him as the starter.

I think that PI play is an example of what happens when your team has no confidence.

Have to give tons of credit to Gus Bradley. The Jaguars have been playing great over the last few weeks.

It's amazing how well they have been playing. They look like a team that just needs that one quarterback to go with that defense and they be set.
