Integrity, Morality and Good Sportsmanship Conduct. The game of football took a Major Slide last night. "IF" the NFL thinks itself as an Example for the Youth, it needs go not further the Game (Steelers and Ravens) last night. The kick off runback with the deliberate interference by the coach (Tomlin) was as disgusting a display of what is wrong as any I have ever seen. Until now only the Jets (Ryan Coaching staff) has been admonished and, fined and suspended for this arrogance. BUT these are the Steelers. The Refs showed this. Otherwise any other team would have had the flag and as the rule says the touchdown would have been awarded the runback team. But as I said this are the Steelers. Fine, Removal from game and suspension are the only actions that can be afforded this type of conduct. Not to mention the ownership owes a public apology to the NFL fans and Ravens in particular.

But none of this will happen. A weak NFL leadership will go silent and sweep this under the rug. WHY? They are the SQUEELERS.

I like how the NFL.com article basically just says "DId Tomlin try to trip him? Eh, maybe, your call. But hey, remember when Flacco joked about it during the Super Bowl?!"

*sigh*

Oh and look, I open my browser to Yahoo and the only football story is about the Steelers "not quite" beating the Ravens, but "OMG look how cool their TD dances were!"

lol they both hurt their teams in the end. Bell got knocked out and Sanders dropped a game tying pass.

Are you serious? Tomlin did not do it on purpose. Will he be fined, sure, but it was not intentional.

I felt bad for bell, but that's Karma. At the end, the Steelers lost two of their tackles, their Center and their RB.

In the end, I guess it was evened out by the non PI call 9n the 2pt try.
Still, the PI at least was between 2 players on the field...it wasn't John Harbaugh jumping infront of him blocking his view of the ball.

The rule is that players, coaches and staff have to be behind the white line. Tomlin was ON THE FIELD! Idk how the ref didn't call the 15 on that one

They usually don't call anything unless they run into a player/coach that's on the very thick white line.

Then he's an idiot for being on the field, watching the big screen and intialing jumping towards the field.

Or it impeeds the ref running the length of the field. Its comical that it wasn't called since the REF had to avoid Tomlin.

Just for clarification.
He was UNINTENTIONALLY standing on that HUGE white line that he is not suppose to be on at all.

Wow.
Got it.

On purpose or not doesn't matter. That was a 15 yard penalty at the least. NO ONE can be on the field or even on the white strip except players and refs. Its the rule. Another one that is arbitrarily enforced.

Look at the tape. He was even impeding the ref from doing his job. We saw a flag on that a few games ago. Why not here?

I'm with you, well sort of. I don't know whether he did it on purpose or not, but I would give Tomlin the benefit of the doubt there. Although in watching the replays there is a definite argument that he did.

He should have been flagged and I'm sure he will be fined. However, it is possible that he just lost his placement in watching the jumbotron and did not realize it until the last second when he saw himself on the screen and looked back to see Jacoby running up to him. Regardless there is no excuse for that, he needs to get his butt on the sideline, the real sideline for coaches and staff. However, calling it intentional, as many are, is speculation. Even is there is a very real possibility that it was.

I agree. I would hope that it was not intentional. I don't think it was, but he was intentionally on the white line. Sort of hard to do that accidentally as far out as he was. And his foot was on the field. And he did hinder the progress of a ref, who had to run around him. Either you are or are not on the field. There is no grey area there. Either you hinder a ref or you do not. Again, no grey. Do you think that all those "12 men on the field" calls were done on purpose?

At the moment when Jacoby gets near him,Tomlin puts his foot out onto the field. Just a coincidence? I doubt it.
