Speed Kills

Steve Bisciotti

In the spirit of the Holiday and the eve of our biggest game of the year I would just like to say how thankful as a fan I am that we have an absolutely unbelievable owner that heads our franchise. I saw in the news yesterday that Colts owner Jim Irsay took to twitter yesterday to basically rip his team publicly after getting waxed by the Cardinals last week. Can not tell you how happy that Bisciotti does not do stupid crap like that. Cheers to you Mr. Bisciotti for being the man!

Mr.Bisciotti is the one of the best owners in pro sports and as far as Jim Irsay......He is his father's son.

The best owner, the best FO, the best coaches.

Baltimore got it good.   We are spoiled and I can thank Biscotti for that!.    So fortunate to be a Ravens fan!

Yea Mr. B is the man. No doubt we are lucky and he should be viewed as one of the best owners in the NFL.

Also if he's reading this, can we please get Rave TV away from the Redskin loving Comcast Sports Net crew. Other then that I have no issue lol

Well being outspoken like a Marc Cuban is good when ya team is getting cheated and the media is slinging

I don't mind the speaking out if irsay cause otherwise ESPN is the "RG3" soap opera. Can't watch one first take without a RG3 segment...same with numbers never lie.

I'm glad Flacco gave the media something...we are the defending Super Bowl champs...RG3 ain't won anything yet and is looking like a single scheme type of guy!

Mr. Bisciotti is one of the classiest men I have ever heard of. He is involved in a good way with the draft and coaching personnel decisions. Then lets the FO and coaches run things. He also is very generous to the Ravens organization. What other owner would give very valuable SB rings to all the current staff and some of our great players from the past. He sets the tone of what this organization is. He is a big part of what makes the Ravens so special.

Steve Bisciotti thread. :D

After watching the presser after our SB win, I was under the impression that the guy is basically just like one of us, but with the fact that he has a sickeningly large wad of cash. He earned his billions, and basically did what I can only dream of doing: casually bought an NFL franchise.

I saw a talk president Dick Caas gave to some University of Maryland students, where he talked about the differences between the Ravens an other franchises. One of them, he said, was how Steve doesn't use this as a cash cow. He owns the team for the love of the game and doesn't mind having to pay a bit of extra upkeep. As a result, the team provides the players with a lot of things other teams don't offer (regular free meals, for example).

With that said, he also seems like he knows how to use his experience in business and make the right decisions for the franchise, no matter how tough. Better yet, he knows when to defer to the specialists (not that I'm looking at any cities like Dallas right now).

So yeah, like others have said, best owner in the league. Especially considering the difficulties he faces.

The Ravens are indeed fortunate to have an owner like Steve Bisciotti. From everything written about him, he is apparently a class act and a died-in-the-wool Baltimore fan. The average fan can identify with an owner who felt so low after we lost to the NE Patriots two years ago that he considered selling the team. It spoke volumes about his passion for the team and his true grit for hanging in there. It obviously is more than just a business for him. I hope he got a game ball for the Super Bowl. The organization can look forward to many more successful seasons as long as Mr. Bisciotti hangs around.

I'm just amazed nobody has thrown him under the bus yet

Compared to the Colts owner, he's rock solid.  Something tells me there's a bottle of Bushmills or Jameson nearby with every Irsay tweet.  If they ever got a spark near his blood there would probably be enough fuel for a flambe.

Bisciotti is facing a difficult situation however. His team is under-performing and an owner has to be careful to not dole out too much rope for too long.

There's no reason, he does what he's supposed to do.  Let's his football guys run the show, gives input as needed, and fired Cam when it became necessary for him to step in and do so.  Heavy handed ownership generally doesn't work.

Plus unlike a lot of other owners (the Panthers owner in particular), he doesn't seem like a major dick.

I love B, you are not the only one who suspects Irsay is a raging alcoholic...

There's no reason to bash half the people we do around here, lol...Ozzie is still caught in a shipstorm for his "failures"...this fan base will complain about anything

I'm hearin' ya. Of all the people to blame for this year, I'd have thought Ozzie would be the last one in the firing line.

Steve is great in that he's low-key and decent enough not to get publicity for stupid stuff (Irsay, Jones, Synder, Kraft) and wholeheartedly rejects the spotlight unlike some of those same guys.

He's also a homegrown guy and realizes that what you put into a team is what you get out.

He lets his people do the work and keeps things in-house

Bisciotti is as classy as they come as an owner, Ravens are lucky. But man do I love reading Jim Irsay's tweets haha. I just picture him up in his office sauced on whisky tweetin' away about nonsense while listening to his rock n roll records.

Although we had to wait years, things turned out the way they are supposed to.

We have an amazing organization, totally classy and so supportive of fans and players .

Every time I see or hear about that idiot Irsay, it makes me crazy. He is like his father, whatever anyone says, happy he is far away.

We love our team.

Go Ravens!!!

I so wish he owned the O's.

I had a dream that he bought the Orioles, and they went on to win the World Series. Sure would be nice.

Steve B is one of the best owners in the NFL if not the best. I am not saying that just because hes the owner of my favorite team, I am saying that because its actually true. When the owner actually cares for the product and lets everyone do their job, you have successful franchises such as the ravens. I complain about a lot of in game things, but you will rarely if ever hear me critic the FO and ownership.
