sooo, you say it's hard to "assess" Tyrod since he's had little experience in a regular season game and then in the next sentence you don't see much potential?" interesting! Smh! Again, I say the Ravens need to release or trade Tyrod so that he can go to a team that really, really needs him (i.e. Raiders, Browns, Texans and Jaguars etc.) cause it is not this one! Cats here don't even like him as the backup! It's a damn shame! If I was Tyrod's agent I'd be trying to get him the hell out of Baltimore as fast as I can man!

I like him as our back up and I think he could have some success in the league if given the chance. The thing I love most about him is he's always jumping up and down and cheering when we do something good. He's a team player and doesn't seem selfish at all.

Not the best passer in the preseason but that don't mean all that much. He's extremely elusive with his feet though and that's a growing trend.

I said it's hard to assess him at this point but that would be my guess. Geno Smith was probably a lazy comparison. He's just fresh on my mind.

I agree that it all might be a smoke screen. Joe has never said a negative thing about this team in 5 years and all of a sudden he is going to go on a rant about a few plays??? We have put Tyrod in before a few times and it did not generate a single comment from Joe.

Tyrod is a very nice passer!  He's just so athletic that he can move the chains with his arm or legs.  I like that about him!

Gotcha! lol!

Somewhere between Troy Smith and Vince Young is a better comparison, albeit still a bit lazy haha.

Definitely not Troy Smith either!  But, Vince Young like...back when Vince first came into the league...but he's better than that!  He just needs to find a team that will believe in him, focus on him and invest in him as their starter.  Baltimore is not the place for Tyrod Taylor.  Never has been imo.

I have no problem with inserting Tyrod into the game to give the team a spark. It did. The play would be more effective by taking Joe out and putting a real WR in his place. Unless they intend to throw the ball to Joe, we are playing 10 vs. 11. There are other things they can do with two QBs in the game though as we all know. Maybe they are setting the Steelers up for something such as a lateral to Joe in the flat and a pass to a streaking Tyrod Taylor. Who knows! At least it gives Dick LeBeau one more thing to think about.

I also have no problem with what Joe said but I would chew him out if he played for me and made no attempt to fake a route.

Baltimore definitely isn't the place for Tyrod. Not just because he will never gett a chance to start, barring injury, but if our OL can't protect a pocket passer like Flacco, I shudder thinking of the hits Tyrod would take.
I have no idea if he is tough enough to handle the abuse he would take...
Besides, the first time he has a bad game, all of Maryland will call for his head and who knows what that would do for a young kid's confidence.

Well, me personally, I don't like the idea of 250lb linebackers and safeties run full steam ahead playing target practice in the open field with my $120M ..... Can you imagine the backlash if Flacco got hurt because he was running a pass route and got smashed by a safety? I mean, I realize this is football and it's a man's game, but some risks aren't worth taking. I don't blame any QB for that. I don't necessarily like it, but I don't blame them.

And to clarify, I realize that the ball most likely was never inteded to be thrown to him, but you never know when a play will break down and how Tyrod would react. Maybe the pocket collapses and Tyrod gets flushed out to Joe's side....he sees Joe wide open, and throws it to him before he eats a sack...now Flacco has the ball and who knows what happens then..

Against the Steelers, having anyone in the backfield who can't block for Joe Flacco is a liability. The Ravens should get back to the offense that they built to defeat the Steelers when they brought Vonta Leach here to lead block for Ray Rice. I would intentionally let Troy Polamalu thru the line so he could get blown up by Vonta Leach. He'll only blitze once. I don't see the wildcat or pistol offense working very well against a Dick Lebeau coached defense but we'll see. The most important thing the O-line has to do is to protect Joe against the blind side hit and a strip-sack. If Eugene Monroe and Vonta Leach can do that, we'll win.

Well if we are going on just preseason stats we should havs cut the whole offense starting with Joe Flacco... we should have all seen it right there that this offense is a JV offense compared to year(s) prior. But I do remember Taylor pulling the team together and bringing the back in the second half to get some wins...

Again not saying Tyrod should start just that Tyrod had played one full game in the NFL and people think he can't make it in the NFL just from preseason stats.

That's why I don't really care too much for preseason numbers. I'm consider myself a Taylor supporter compared to a lot of people on here

Well in my eyes it's not about Baltimore not being the place for Tyrod because the O-line can't block for a "pocket" passer like Flacco; let alone a dual threat like Tyrod Fly.  This just isn't the team for him imo man!  Initially, when he got drafted to the Ravens; I thought the best of both my worlds (my favorite teams: Virginia Tech and Baltimore Ravens) have collided and came together.  Man!  I was so wrong!  Tyrod's skills, athleticism and abilities that could help this team win are wasting away on this squad.  I say enough!  Trade him or release him and let's see which teams would be interested in him cause there are quite a few in need of a QB that has been in the league for a few years.  Tyrod Taylor could be their "answer" cause he definitely isn't Baltimore's and Baltimore isn't his answer either.

I think the difference now is this offense is stalling and Flacco is the leader of the offense and then they bring in Taylor as a way to jump start the running game or offense however it is to be perceived and he took offense to that. Flacco as every qb feels... that he should be playing at all times behind center leading the team and everyone else needs to change, get better, and they aren't the main problem.

Joe isn't the main problem but Taylor should see some playing time somewhere either behind center or in a slot. He is too talented to not be out their helping the Ravens win... no matter where he lines up.

In the past if Taylor was brought it wasn't because we needed Joe to perform better or the rest of the team could get a jolt in the other parts of the game but maybe Flacco (speculation) feels like it was a knock on him.

The biggest problem is that Joe has been the starter since day 1 and never had anybody to push him and compete for the job... we didn't need it. Now we do... let's be honest he is not playing up to par either and even if the problem lies behind inadequacies in other positions... maybe someone who has a different type of skill can overcome that by using their type of skill set.

Flacco has a great arm... it works in the cold weather, or can throw down field when our WRs can beat coverage but struggles to find the open guy and go through progressions... maybe he's not given enough time... but if Taylor with his skill set doesn't have that first or even second guy he is going to take off and get some yards out of nothing.

Against the Bengals last year he played with the same WRs we have now and most of the same line and performed well against a top 5 defense. Our defense played horrible so we lost... this year our defense plays great and Flacco plays bad but because Dalton plays worse we win. Most of these guys minus Smith have played with Taylor so what would it hurt to give him some reps.
