Chances Jacoby Jones is back next year?

I'd love to keep him, but it's gonna be tough deciding who can fit under the cap. Jones might be looking to make some money.

I really hope we can bring him back on the cheap, if only as a specialist. I don't think his production as a receiver merits a big time deal, from us or from anyone. His real value is returning kicks, as we saw today.

1a.  Eugene Monroe

1b.  Dennis Pitta

2. Daryl Smith

3. James Ihedigbo

4. Jacoby Jones

5. Arthur Jones

The only reason I have Art that low is because I honestly think he's priced himself out of Baltimore.  I love Jacoby and want him to stay, but ever since I started this thread, his price is getting higher.

I dont think we keep Smith unless he is cheap. Arthur Brown and Josh Bynes to start next season imo.

I don't see him getting that much out there.  He's on the wrong side of 30.  Either way, I see this as more of our wish list than it is what I think is going to happen.  I think Jacoby could be higher.

I can see Daryl Smith leaving for some reason.

Could be, but I'm not even sure the Ravens want to allocate any money at that position with Arthur Brown ready to emerge.

For sure.  I'm pretty much guaranteeing that 1a and 1b will be here.  If we get one or two of 2-5, I'd be pumped.

Isn't he #2 in receptions this year? i could be wrong..

Ja-Kobe bails BAL out, plain and simple, especially in the cold.  Last year in the AFCDG, today in the final 90 seconds to help engineer the comeback... BAL needs a Devin Hester, plain and simple.  Their special teams play is what gives them the edge over most teams in the lead.

We better keep Jacoby.....the hell with Gino Shipley Juan Castillo and Michael Oher

wholelotofhaloti said it best.............Jacoby is a TD waiting to happen.

Also, this fan completely disagrees with those that don't think he's absolutely dynamic as a receiver. Will he lose a ball occasionally....yes..........but the big plays more than make up for it.

I want him back but Idk if he's affordable

Well, if he continues to improve and contribute his market price will rise, no doubt. double edged sword.

I'm not saying it will happen, but it would seem if anyone would settle for less to stay for a while it would be a guy like Jacoby.

He's actually 5th on the team behind Torrey, Rice, Dallas Clark, and Marlon.

Jacoby is a stud on ST. As a wide receiver, not so much as he seems to never attack the ball with his hands. That play where it hit him in the numbers and bounce in to the defenders hands was pretty ridiculous. Just like, that ridiculous return where he took it to the house, on that short kickoff. Ravens still need him for his positives out weigh his negatives, two fold. I would sign Jacoby after Pitta and Torrey.

And that's in a season without Pitta.

We need to sign Monroe, Pitta, Ihedigbo and Daryl Smith first (in that order, imho), which will make it hard for the Ravens to sign Jacoby if he draws alot of interest.

No......

Elam at SS..... We need to find a FS this offseason. Draft or no draft, we need to get one IMHO. I love Digs but wouldn't be suprised to see him gone.

Ihedigbo is coming back. As much as I want to move Elam over, the teams loves Digs. He's a leader. He gets everyone in place back there. I honestly do not see us trying to get anything but a backup FS at all.

I think you're right. At 30, he probably has a good 3 or 4 years left in the tank. He fits well with the Team and shouldn't be overly expensive.

Exactly.  He won't be expensive at all, and with what he brings to the table, I don't see them letting him walk.  I'd predict somewhere in the 2 year for $4M range.  He's probably earned a bit above the minimum he's made the past 2 years, but as you said, he's 30 and a SS.  He won't command enough that would keep us from re-signing guys like Jacoby and Daryl if we really wanted them.

This team needs Jacoby right now. What he provides is so valuable .. We don't win the SB without that guy on the roster last year. I think he's got a great attitude, loves the organization and he's not going to be commanding huge money. I'd almost expect the same 2 year 7m contract we gave him originally (I believe  that's what it was).

I think since  Takeo Spikes   received  a  9 million dollar contract from the chargers in 2011 then London Fletcher whom re-signed with  the redskins this offseason received a   two year  10 million  dollar contract   may indicate that Smith could receive the  same  form of contract or slightly more. I'm not sure about Jacoby Jones(he will be 30 next year)  and since kick returners can't enter into the pro bowl any more it makes  me wonder if it decreases their value but Jones  also right now is proven he can be more than good kick returner but I'm still not sure about him being too expensive for The Ravens to re-sign

I doubt he is back , there is a reason he has been a career backup and somebody will overpay for him , hopefully .
