lol and whats that speculation?

the whole speculation that they didn't get along???  and it was just that... speculation.  No one knew what their relationship was like.

They'll tag someone to keep someone and get more cap space...  One may not be happy about it, but they will do that.

I think Jacoby returning (or not) will come down to... you guessed it, money.

I agree... otherwise, I think it's a no-brainer.

The tag will actually eat up more cap space in 99% of cases.

Daryl, Pitta and Monroe  and thats it.

Not even sure if we can squeeze those 3 in w/ the cap we has for this comming season

I'm not sure if we can even get two of those guys.  I think Monroe is a safe bet, but outside of that who knows.  Players generally chase the money.

The tag would use up more cap space than an actual deal.

Sometimes;  You are absolutely right... if it were that tight, then we can expect another cap casualty team like last year, but I'm not so sure...  there are other contributing factors that come into play.

We already know who at least one of the cap casualties will be.  Ozzie said Suggs will not be back at his current cap number.  I think McClain is another likely cut, I'm about 95% sure that's going to happen considering how marginal his production is relative to his cap number.  I've done the math though, and even with those cuts it's tough to get all three of those guys back, let alone add some value free agents like Ozzie is wont to do and fill the roster out.

False. Two plays don't make you MVP of the Super Bowl. Especially when one came off the arm of the QB who won the award.

It was widely talked about that Jones was just as, if not more deserving than Flacco. Its okay, I have no agenda to belittle Joe, just sharing an opinion. First response was deleted, so hopefully this one sticks long enough for you to see it ;)

Yeah, even the announcers talked a lot about Jacoby's performance being MVP worthy. Hard not to include him in the conversation. Joe had a great game as well, and it seems that most of the time it is a QB that gets the SB MVP.

Tie goes to the QB!

Joe played one of the best games you will ever see out of a QB. Jacoby was great, but Flacco was better.

It would have been MVP worthy, only Flacco was even more spectacular. Couldn't have done it without either of those two.

Ya I saw that, actually my initial response was as well.  He had impact plays theres no doubt, I just think people hold that notion more so because his was the last TD scored on the kick return and those 7 helped Baltimore hold on.

Id maintain Flacco's 3rd and 2 completion to Boldin was just as important and impactful.

That was more an insane catch by Boldin than anything else. And yes, the ball needed to leave someones hand in order to to get to Boldin, but that catch, as contested as it was and how much he elevated to make the grab, was amazing!

Heres to Boldin coming back (ha) and Joe returning to 2012 post season Joe.

On topic - I would love very much for JJ to be back, for the right price of course.

Yeah... Flacco really tore it up that 2nd half!

I didn't read or actually hear anything(except a couple of comments here) about a rift between Kubiak and Jacoby, but thought it was very interesting that he took the time in his press conference to talk about their relationship. Saying "he's like a son" and that he called to congratulate him after the SB makes it sound like they are pretty tight.

You are so ignorant it hurts...you did see the pass protection completely break down and Rice fumble right? And when that stuff calmed down, he drove us into field goal range twice to score the crucial points we needed. Please just take you negativity and ignorance somewhere else.

Could someone sum up our cap status for me? I've been out of the loop for a while... So do we keep suggs, jones and ngata or no?

Last I checked, the Ravens currently have 47 players under contract for 2014 at a total price tag of $112,025,107. Meanwhile, there is a $4, 410,214 penalty for the dead money that will still be paid to likes of Pollard, McKinnie, Huff, Spears, etc. in '14, as well. Which, as a result, brings the Ravens salary cap to a grand total of $116,435,321, which leaves Baltimore with $12,063,889 in cap room.

Thus, it's expected that Jameel McClain ($3.2 million), Vonta Leach ($1.75 million), Sam Koch ($1.6 million) and A.Q. Shipley ($570 K, with NO dead money) will all be cap casualties, which would result in a extra $7,120,000. Also, while it was initially thought that Terrell Suggs might get cut, it's expected Ozzie Newsome will do everything he can to just restructure his deal. Haloti Ngata, can't be cut (as it would only save the team a million dollars); but, there's also the possibility of cutting him after June 1st, when his 2014 contract can be slip between this and next year. Although, I can't see that happening. Finally, Arthur Jones will only be brought back if the market doesn't value him as much as we thought; luckily, there's so many defensive ends that will be free agents. So, there's a chance the Ravens can keep him if the price is low enough.

Anyways, I would like to think Jacoby Jones has a better chance, now, to remain in Baltimore, regardless of how much another team offers him, since Gary Kubiak is here...

Thank you! looks promising to me

I think if Eugene Monroe leaves (It looks like it after reports of today) I think we can resign Jacoby Jones. Kubiak also being here I think changes things. TEAM JACOBY STAYING IN BMORE!
