This is just like the Pees question last year - Caldwell does not have the personnel he had in the playoffs - specifically, no Q, no Pitta, Rice is a shell of himself, and the rest of the receivers A) don't know the playbook like Q and Pitta, and B ) have all been hampered by injuries to some degree.  Last year, in spite of all the injuries, only Q went out for a few games on the offensive side.  This year, Pitta, Dickson, Rice, Jones, and Brown have all had some sort of injury to deal with.  With the proper personnel this year, Pees' defense is giving up less than 20 PPG.  Give Caldwell a proper pair of tight ends with a full offseason and I think there would be a world of difference.

Going against that argument, I haven't be impressed by Pees with personnel. While the defense has played well at times, I don't think they're as good as the personnel indicates they should be. We've allowed terrible qbs to carve up the secondary and have been gashed by consistently large runs in some games. Not saying there can't be an off day, I just haven't been impressed. He's clearly not as good as Rex or Pags.

I kinda like the "bend, but don't break" defense. Keeping the ball out of the endzone is the one thing that really matters and Pees excels at it.
