Let the Run to 7-6 Begin!

First thing's first: knock the spiraling Jets out of the playoffs' orbit.  SD should lose @ Arrowhead.  MIA should lose to to Bam-Bam Cam.  TEN should lose at OAK.  PIT should steamroll CLE (my favorite insider joke!).  If syzygy occurs, this would be the standings at the end of next week, starting w/ the 6th seed:

OAK
PIT
BAL
NYJ
MIA
TEN
CLE
SD
BUF

BAL would then be able to knock off PIT for 7th place with a win at M&T.  After that, it would just turn into a race with OAK, who has 3 games vs KC, SD & DEN to end their season.  Logic would indicate them losing at least 2 of those last 3 games.

It's sad and hilarious that Oakland is in this conversation.

Unfortunately, they're going to blitz the hell out of us.

I'm scared to see a Rex Ryan defense against our abysmal OL.

Good.  I like 6-3 ball games lol.

Blitz the hell out of Geno.  Unleash Doom & Suggs on Big Ben.  And just suit up against the Vikings.  It is possible.

You need to remind Dumberville not to hand us 50 yards and 3 first downs in stupid penalties!  :banana1:

Yup, the refs would love nothing more than to give the Steelers free first downs and bail them out...

As crazy as this is…the Steelers vs. Ravens game may very well decide the sixth seed. Both teams have favorable schedules. If we come into M&T tied at 5-6 the winner will take a huge step toward making the tournament. Perfect, even in a down year for both teams the rivalry has play-off implications. Things are heating up!

The more Ravens coaches, players and fans believe that ridiculous, foolish, asinine myth…the better it is for the Steelers! I hope Harbaugh, his players and fans keep whining about refs, blaming refs and focussing on refs. It will fill the Bank with a sense of doom and fatalism. Complain away.

Positive thread, I'm here...

We are still in the hunt, and one game at a time...

The Jets have no offense so all we need is a fumbled-on-my butt-Geno thang....

We got this!

PS: quick slant, dump off, or quick throw to a mismatch on one on one situation is Ryan's nightmare.....

I know the NY Giants are not in the AFC, but do you realize they started the season 0-6 and are now tied with the Ravens at 4-6. How bad are we this season??? So bad that even the Pittsburgh Steelers (0-4) have caught us.

PLAYOFFS, you're talking playoffs? It would be nice to win back2back games.

Jets are Jekyll and Hyde….bad news for you guys is they were Hyde last week!

and this is why I love for the steelers to stay down!  cause then their fans are SILENT!!!  lol!  brah!  the Ravens play well at home and the Jets, Steelers and Vikings will fall there.  this is the time that the Ravens become scrappy and one of the most dangerous teams to face down the stretch.  get ready to witness a completely different team beginning on Sunday!

You know what, you might be right. The Ravens certainly put it all together for a run last year so it is possible. However, thats why we love this game…you just don't know until the whistle blows on Sunday! (And I'm rarely silent…been here all year…lol)

same here!

but the reality right now though is that the steelers are not our concern or focus.  It's the Jets!  so, SHHHHHHH!!!

LOL!!

That's why I love this game so much! The 'comeback' story is the best one ever told and we are perfectly aligned to tell it again. It won't be easy being green Sunday. "On this signal unleash hell Ravens!"

Regardless of the fact that the Bears run defense doesn't hold a good stats record this year, I think our O-line has proven that the major, possibly the only, problem with our running game is the zone blocking scheme. As soon as we started pushing people around, there was a light for Ray and stuff looked kind of normal for the first time this year. So, I am hoping there will be even less zone blocking scheme and more power running in every coming game. This will do wonders for us, the Bank will be very loud place (hope it doesn't lose its environmentally-friendly cert!) over the next 3 weeks.

There is no doubt in my mind that we're going to make it.

Interestingly, Rice's big run on the first drive was zone blocking. We used a good blend of zone and man, but our zone runs had good success the other day.

Wow, what wonderful fans BAL has post-SB. Apparently, the Ravens are so bad now that they should should just give up on the season, a la Jacksonville, to secure a slightly higher draft pick. Never mind that the last 3 SB Champions were WC teams...

in case you havent noticed, our team is not capable of winning the big one this year, im all for optimism, and  i was fully optimistic all year until we pretty much sealed our fate with the loss @CHI. sure, were mathematically in the race still, but for what? this is not a super bowl material team, and its blatantly obvious. there are traits that super bowl teams have, and that is good game management, a killer instinct(put the nail in the coffin when you have the chance instead of letting teams hang around COUGH chicago) a clutch defense that doesnt allow that 4th quarter drive for a TD(or a huge play on 3rd and long when we desperately need the ball back), and the ability to effectively run out the clock or at least play small ball to wind down the clock.

those are some of the most glaring strengths you see on legitimate contenders, and we have shown that to be a glaring weakness in almost every game this season, even the ones we won. these are things that the ravens were best at last season, aside from that late season stretch at the end, we were a winning team simply because we knew how to, for some reason, we dont know how to win anymore.

we were on the winning side of those close games last year, but we are lacking something this year that is keeping us on the losing side of these close games.

Any team is capable of winning at any time. If you want parity, there it is. The fact of the matter is if we sweep this upcoming home series and win against New England, we are in the same position we had after last years crushing losing streak. I, for one believe that if we win out in this final stretch, that should put us in the position of a dangerous team to face in the playoffs. You never want to face a team who had a tough time in the regular season but were able to overcome their glaring weaknesses.

I think they'll even beat the Lions in Detroit. I'm saying 8-6! :) After that, I don't know.

IF PIT could do it, so can BAL!

The good thing about this thread is, it's all entirely possible. It's not crazy talk. The Ravens could totally go 7-6! We've got to work hard, I think our hardest game will be Detroit. I could see us going 10-6, it is not impossible.

I've been in the dumps since the loss at Chicago.  But this just brought a slight smile to my face.  :)

Best thread on the site right now.

Im tired of everyone crying about the team and all the expert analysis as to why we're not playing well. The fact of the matter is we're not, who cares why that's not our job.

Our job is to make sure we help protect the home field advantage. Which before this year was the biggest advantage in the NFL. We need to stop the booing, stop letting it get quiet just bc things aren't going our way. Scream even when we're on offense, Joe isn't one of those QBs who needs the quiet. I think he feeds off the crowd noise.

We need this home stand. And its our job to remind the players why they love being in Baltimore. Time to remind Rex and Ed why they loved Baltimore. Time to remind the NFL that Baltimore is not a city you can walk in to and win. ANd yes the players have to do their part, but lets help them get the adrenaline going.

We as fans have a job to do. Call me crazy, but we CAN help affect the outcome when playing in Baltimore. Bring out your best purple and black on Sunday, and no matter what stay loud and proud!

Good points! All I can say is that we're better than the NY Giants even though our records are the same. If they can win four games in a row, so can we. AND we're certainly a better team than the Pittsburgh Steelers. To heck with 7-6! Why not 10-6!! The ending to this story will be written in Baltimore, Maryland --- not in Pittsburgh, not in NY and not in NE!!! Stay tuned!

One little detail that I'm sure others have brought up somewhere on this forum is that if we don't win out in this homestand, Baltimore could lose another primetime game because we could get flexed out of Sunday night in Week 16.  That's not as important as winning games, but it would add further insult to the season if it happens.  However, since I not only hope, but expect us to win out on this homestand, we shouldn't have to worry about this.
