Let the Run to 7-6 Begin!

97 posts in this topic

As much as I've been pissed off at this team for their inconsistencies and inability to score points on offense and to get off the field on defense and losing all of these close games....they are still my team!  I love the Ravens man!  So, I had to go back and revisit what makes this team special to me!

We have 3 home games starting on Sunday vs. the Jets.  Then we face the Steelers and Vikings! We need these wins!  We can win!  We will win!  We've faced a lot of internal adversity this season but it is not over!  I say; "Let the run to 7-6 Begin!"  Here's a little somethin', somethin' to remind you of the resilience that we have as a team when our backs are against the wall:

Blitz the hell out of Geno.  Unleash Doom & Suggs on Big Ben.  And just suit up against the Vikings.  It is possible.

lol!  yes sir!  I have definitely done my share of smoking these cats in here for their piss poor game play BUT now that we are 4-6 after that loss yesterday on that muddy, gritty and slushy field in Chicago; our boys really need us to be in their corner to make this run!  they are in a 6 way tie in the hunt for that 6th seed.  they can do it!  they need us badly right now so I am done kicking them while they are down!  I say; "Get up Ravens!, Stand up Ravens!  And Shock the World" once again with an amazing run!  Let's goooooooo!!!

Blitz the hell out of Geno.

Unfortunately, they're going to blitz the hell out of us.

I'm scared to see a Rex Ryan defense against our abysmal OL.

I wouldn't say it was abysmal.. We have a week for Monroe to get his feet under him after a couple of tough games. but the interior has drastically improved. I'm excited to see a motivated rush attack with last weeks confidence boost in that aspect of play. Not to mention Marlon Brown will be back, that should open up our passing attack and help finish drives, something we struggled with noticeably without him. It will force the Jets to respect the passing attack.

That isn't to say I'm not nervous, but I have faith in our squad, especially at home.

Been saying it all this time,

Great to see someone else with a positive attitude! It's been frustrating, thats for sure but i still have every bit of confidence in these guys. As Harbaugh would say, There just the men for the job! Let's start out by beating the Jets!

First thing's first: knock the spiraling Jets out of the playoffs' orbit.  SD should lose @ Arrowhead.  MIA should lose to to Bam-Bam Cam.  TEN should lose at OAK.  PIT should steamroll CLE (my favorite insider joke!).  If syzygy occurs, this would be the standings at the end of next week, starting w/ the 6th seed:

OAK

PIT

BAL

NYJ

MIA

TEN

CLE

SD

BUF

BAL would then be able to knock off PIT for 7th place with a win at M&T.  After that, it would just turn into a race with OAK, who has 3 games vs KC, SD & DEN to end their season.  Logic would indicate them losing at least 2 of those last 3 games.

I don't even want us to beat the jets. We're out of the playoff race after last week so it doesn't even matter. We may have a shot mathematically, but realistically were done for this season. We're better off getting a top ten pick and drafting some impactful offensive players.Going 7-6 in the next 3 weeks would only push our pick back to the late teens. We have big holes at o-line and wr and the only way to get probowl caliber players at those positions is to draft them high.Especially for a team with or cap situation. The only games I care about winning this season is the steelers game on thanksgiving and the bengals game.

I want us to beat the pats and the steelers and I could care less about anything else. the playoffs wont translate to a super bowl, and our current roster most likely wont translate to us running the tables, so whats the point? get the highest draft pick possible and cya next year..

The team will never give up, and draft picks are not a sure thing. The problem I see is the team's new leaders have consistently approached the games from an intellectual angle while lacking the emotional fire to ignite the whole team. They need both to win!

Wow, what wonderful fans BAL has post-SB. Apparently, the Ravens are so bad now that they should should just give up on the season, a la Jacksonville, to secure a slightly higher draft pick. Never mind that the last 3 SB Champions were WC teams...

Even in sports predictions I trust my gut more often than not, and I'm feeling this three-game run. Five if we can beat Detroit. I know we just have to focus on winning one, but I think this team is improving despite the results.

This game against the Jets is do-or-die and the team knows it. I think they come out like they did against the Bengals. I'm [use your imagination]-scared of the blitzes they'll bring, but if Marlon comes back we can beat them on the ground like we did in Chicago: make them spread out to cover our short passing game, and THEN use the space to let Ray Rice start moving the chains.

For our defence, stop the run and hit Geno early and often. Even if we win by them scoring fewer points than us, I'll be satisfied.

From there, bring on Steelers Week. :D

We aren't out of it yet, every game is essential though. Im just not confident that we can win those games. Why? The Bears defense is at the bottom of the league at stopping the run, we couldn't get two yards to win a game. Green Bays defense isnt all that great, they stoned us cold in goal to go TWICE...at home!
The Coaching staff has made a foolish call to throw the ball at the end of the first half in several games...which has backfired and lead to points for the other team..those free points are always the difference.

To make my point more clear, this team is finding ways to lose games every week. Sad thing is that its been the same old story...and no changes have been made. To me, that is unacceptable. So, while yes they are still alive in the playoff race and for the record I DO want them to make the playoffs, I don't see them as a playoff caliber team right now. That can change though, I hope it does.

Haha, oh dear......

Over the next two weeks there'll be several games where contenders will be knocking each other out of the race.

On top of that, every side has their problems:

Miami: Can't get off the field (worse than us) and their o-line is abomination against Ozzie.

Tennessee: Were only going as far as Jake Locker would take them. Awksquid.

Jets: Are still the Jets.

Steelers: Winning again, but not even close to unbeatable.

Browns: Gonna Brown.

SD and Oakland: In the AFC West (guts).

I think every team is allowed to lose one game from here, maybe two. The Jets and Dolphins get two, maybe three. Can you see all of those teams winning out? Me neither. Lose to the Jets and we're in trouble with the cushion they'll open on us, but that's why I think we'll see Playoff Ravens show up next week.

Even the Bengals might keep slipping.

Let us hope Matt Simms doesn't come in for Turnover King Geno. Our D should score very easily on the VT alum.

The stars are alining for the Ravens, they just need to seize the opportunity.
