Man, when I first saw that the forum was open, I was just glad that I had a new and better distraction than MySpace...

...but right when I said that, the Ravens' official MySpace page opened up, and now I'm back, procrastinating on senior assignments and whatnot before graduation...

Sure, sooner or later there will be more sections dedicated to different discussions, but i think what we need right now is more members

It's early days. The forums have been open for less than a week.

Throw in the fact that it's offseason, and you have a limited number of people participating.

The draft was a good time to kick things off, but the boards will probably remain relatively slow until camp. Once the season starts, this place will probably be crawling with more quality active members.

Either way, I like the members we have participating on here thus far, and I like a lot of the discussion that's been sparked.

Too bad it's so hard to come up with some good topics that haven't already been created or brought up...

But oh well, I'll still keep working as hard as I can to try and keep this place interesting...even if I have to singlehandedly spark things up myself just to keep people talking...

I really wanna see this forum succeed and get off the ground quickly...

well really the main forum i get on is down right now, i think it got hacked(it's not a football forum). so i got on here to see if these forums were FINALLY up, and they were so i joined

There hasn't been a push for new members yet, after a little trial period, i'm sure you'll see the boards become advertised and pushed other places, more categories, topics etc.....

It has been a long wait for these boards, but one that should turn out to be worthwhile. I had sent an email to the site's admin team in September asking when the boards would be up and they said October. I understand how things can slip by for major additions to websites so I wasn't too concerned as October came and went. I think they said that they were focusing on the expanded video capabilities last year and put the forums off until later.

Now that they're here I don't think it will be too long until you see a ton of active users. All of the other NFL teams that have their own official forum have an insanely large amount of threads, posts, and users.

I'm really interested to see what happens to the other boards once this thing gets rocking. The Sun, Scout, and PF247 boards have been great resources in the past. While there should be a large amount of discussion on these boards there will probably be some elements of the other boards that will not translate over.

With so many people posting here it will be hard to know all of the personalities of the regular posters like you do on the others. Also the smack will be heavily moderated and while that may be a selling point for many people, I find some of the smack threads during the season to be hilarious. There will probably not be as much leniency for copyrighted videos, pictures, and torrent download links for games as well.

But even so I think this official forum will help bring in a lot more people to the discussion of all things purple and black and that's a good thing.

Well i'm glad this broad finally has a forum. Like other i hope there will be plenty of quality post/posters. I understand you can't keep people out but maybe if the main people that are here right now can set the example of the broad then others will follow. I love to talk Ravens just like the rest of you guy/girls. I love to debate things but i hate when someone turns to name calling when your view is different from there's, or you are accused of having shaded glasses or drinking pruple I need to find a new cliche because don't disagree with what the team or a certain player is doing enough. I just look forward to talking Ravens football good or bad.

p.s. I'm just a poster here nobody big or anything but if i could make one request from everyone here and the people that will soon be here. Can we please not go down the road of Hugger/Hatter with Troy Smith. That is one thing i can not stand while posting on other broads. I'm a Ravens fan and a pretty knowlegdable one at that(at least i think so), so when i say i think the Ravens handled Boller the wrong way i'm not a Hugger just a fan. When i say Boller could be better at something i'm not a Hatter, just a fan. As far as Troy Smiths goes lets all take the approach like Ozzie. He is a nobody on this team and has to prove his worth.

That was a great point about the huggers/haters. Those Boller threads split 2 boards I frequented with all kinds of name calling, and I've already seen one "Smith is our future post." We don't even know if he'll make the team being such a midget ya know.
