First Timer ISO In/out advice for Vikings game

8 posts in this topic

The game Dec 8 will be the first time I've visited MT bank, I've only seen the team live every few years when they go to a city in the south or west and I travel as a visiting team fan.

I'm flying in Saturday noon and am booked in the Hitlton right across the street from Camden yards.  I' see two options:

Walk to game, leave rent-a-car at the Hilton, then after the game try to make an 8pm flight at Wasthington National.  Downsides:  The Rush to get to the airport, difficulty changing clothes (how well do long underwear and skipants work on a 3hr flight back home?)  Upside: save 1/2 day vacation, 1 night hotel.

Is it even reasonable to think I could get to National in the 2 1/2 hours it would take to get there an hour early and not have checkin hassels?

Walk to game, leave rent a car,at the Hilton, after the game drive to Dulles and fly home on a redeye Mondaya morning:  Downside: extra expense for hotel and car, 1/2 day vacation.  Upside, hanging out in Baltimore through dinner after the game, no rush to the whole experience.

Your thoughts appreciated, thanks

You can fly to Dallas from Baltimore (BWI) which is only 15-20 minutes from your hotel. Why not use that airport? I've flown BWI-Dallas a number of times.

When I checked a few months back, the latest flight out of BWI was 6pm while national had one at 8 pm.  I tend to stick to United or American because I have enough miles to fly free.  Also. because of the Wright amendments limitations on SW.  So American has an 8pm Saturday at National while United has a 7:30 am Monday at Dulles back to Dallas.

I'd stay the extra night to enjoy Baltimore and without the rush..

Or watch them roll up the sidewalks in New Oxford  ???

I grew up in Rockville but that's been since Jimmy Carter was president -- please explain, is this the location of a cool post-game party?

No, it's sarcasm. There's a good post game party right outside the south side of the stadium. Also, the bar in your hotel and the one in Camden Yards (between our stadium and your hotel) are good places.
