[News] Game Recap: Bears 23, Ravens 20 OT

369 posts in this topic

Well its going to be along week. We have to wait whole week to get this bitter taste out our mouth. Bottom line is we gave this game away on the goal line an couldnt punch it in. Wow how disappointing. I have one question what was up with all the draw calls. like really we ran no screens. Our bunch formation was killing them. why didnt we keep that going. I dont know. An then Doom with that penalty. We are shooting ourselves in the foot. We need to do some deep soul searching. Look im not asking for a superbowl this year. But as a Flock member i demand we play like Ravens an as defending champions i expect to be .500 or better.

The wind was not in tuckers nor kochs favor. Call harbaugh stupid if you wish but he's not THAT dumb

In the 3rd quarter the wind was in Tuckers favor. That is why in the fourth the Bears had success throwing the ball because they had the wind in there favor. Support HarBoo if you want. I have watched football for a long time, and have never seen some of the bone headed mistakes that HarBoo has  made this year. It would be different if it was just one bad call, but we have 5 losses this year, all due to his bone head calls!

What really pissed me off was Gino, again. Torrey was wide open for about a second and Joe wanted to hit him, but the bad snap gave us no chance.

It's not even possible to express through text how outright ANGRY I am right now. Not disappointed, not sad, not depressed. ANGRY. I know it will pass but I feel like punching through a wall right now..

Im still wondering how daryl smith didnt recover that fumble on alshon jeffrey. Smith should have easily came out of the pile with that. Anyway that game shouldnt have gotten to ot. Offense has to score to end the game. Running on second down was horrible and i feel like the offense mismanaged the time and that led to the last play having to be rushed with only 11 seconds left. Horrible loss to say the least. The only chance at the division is to win out and the way there playing who knows if theyll beat the jets next week

Losing stinks, but lots of positives in this game...O-line had a complete over-all solid game, the defense is continuing to progress and not regress, and the young Wr's continue to make plays...The team in all 3 phases had one of the best games, in the worst weather conditions that we have had to play in this year....

I hate front runner fans that break their neck jumping on and off the band wagon. As bad as the Ravens played all year, their are losing by the narrowest of margins. Last season, Raven barely beat KC, needed 4th and 29 to beat Chargers, a missed FG to beat Cowboys, Lost to the skins and Steelers back up QB before winning the Superbowl. Ravens will rebuild and get strong. For now, fans should hope for improvement. The Run game improved today. Take the rest in stride.

Listen, except for the few Y'inzer flamers on this board. I think we're all pretty hard core fans here.  Let's admit it.  Things broke pretty much our way last year, form the 4th and 29 to the game tying TD in Denver.  The problem is, the Raven organization has sold us on a notion of "Playing like a Raven."  I've deen it from the defense this year, but not the offense.  The coaching staff too seems to think it's more imprortant to stroke player's egos in the media than to call them out for bad play.  The bottom line is, any Ravens fan who has to listen to the "6 rings" fall back from the Stiller fans expects a certain standard from the Ravens organization.  Despite what Harbaugh and others keeps telling us, they haven't achieved that standard.  It's time to start taking the moto "Play like a Raven to heart"...at least on the offensive side of the ball.

Where is rmcjacket that lambasted me when i said eugene monroe was not an upgrade over mckinnie? Eugene monroe got owned today.

yeah he did today but its one game  he had what 2 or 3 games shutout from his side. bad games happen everybody has one but to not call him a upgrade over mckinnie is just wrong. if mckinnie was playing he would have givin up 5 sacks from his side alone!

The game is not about the plays any longer. Games are decided by penalties. The refs control who wins or loses. To wit: when Flacco got knocked down there was no penalty. When Tucker got tossed up in the air there was no penalty. When it was the other way around the Ravens were penalized for some very questionable fouls including roughing the passer. In order to keep all teams in the hunt for as far into the season as possible and to keep the fans coming back to as many stadiums as possible the NFL has engaged in a program called parity, I believe its called, in this economy in order to maximize profit. I've heard so many announcers say it's a really weird season. They are right. Very weird.

He was playing against Julius Peppers, one of the best pass rushers in the nfl. Flacco only got sacked twice and Rice ran for over 130 yards. Doesn't seem like too much "owning" to me.

If you can't score on first and goal from the 4 you don't deserve to win. The play calling down there was a joke. 2 runs off left guard by Rice for 2 yards and then a botched snap results in an incompletion. Why not throw the ball down there all 3 times. Joe has got to take better care of the ball. The interception he threw at the end of the half which led to a FG was horrible. He had no chance at all to complete the pass, one man was in front of the receiver and two behind. Throw the ball away and punt to them and hope you can hold them. Two games, today and the Bills game, are losses that are on Joe. When you have more turnovers than TDs as a QB your in trouble. This just isn't our year. However in looking at all the teams in the hunt for the second wildcard spot I think a 9-7 record gets you in for sure. Will not be surprised if 8-8 gets you the second spot

Here are some positives that Ravens fans take look at for the rest of the season and hope for the next year.

1. Ravens offense stinks and et they are still in every game

2. Jimmy Smith continues to grow and be more consistent

3. Rice woke up today. Even though Bears run D stinks. It's still great to see Rice capable of explosive plays and running with power

4. Young receiver contributing. Doss, Brown, and Thompson are growing. If Ravens add a true possession guy, receiver corp will be fine.

5. Still mathematically in the playoff race. And even if they don't 5 out of 6 years is great. We could be Jacksonville or Tampa fans. Get top draft picks to add what they have and the Ravens are back in it and some of the bandwagon fans can jump on for another ride.

The call against D-ville was questionable, but so was the call on Flacco's slide.  The non-call a Tucker's "flop" wouldn't have mattered because there was only enough time to re-kick anyhow.  Don't blame the refs.  Blame an offense that only scored 20 points and gave Chicago 7.

Coaching doomed the Ravens this year. The Castillo hire and cutting but bringing back Doss and making him an integral part of the offense and special teams are the glaring mistakes. Harbs has had ten games to fix those and he hasn't.

The Ravens are losing close games but losing. The Ravens need to improve players for next year. Wild card is not out of reach but will need to win at least5 of six. I will take a bad year if that is what it cost to win a super bowl. Most fans will.

You forgot that we have a great kicker Tucker!

I agree and its sad I imagine how we could be if we had not broken something that was working well .
