Btw, what was going on with Eugene Monroe yesterday?

Yeah....it was like McKinnie facing Miami's Jordan.  The difference being Jordan is young and dynamic and Julius Peppers hadn't had a good game in over a year, but Monroe was a tonic for that.   Miami won with McKinnie yesterday. That's right McKinnie and guess what, Pouncey, Martin and Incognito were out, yet McKinnie provided enough stability to get the job done.

Though as bad as Monroe played he wasn't the reason for the loss.

I don't know this, but I suspect we tossed the Zone Blocking Scheme yesterday. Our lineman were run blocking as we believed they should.  Its still hard to believe we lost that game as well as we ran.  That said, Forte got his yards vs. our defense too.

The Dumerville Personal Foul was critical. After reviewing the play several times it was certainly "Ticky Tack" and in this opinion shouldn't have been called.  But the referees are Goodell minions and he wants that called for liability reasons. Dumerville did not have to half shove their QB at that juncture. I'm quickly reaching the conclusion that if the Zebs are gonna call ticky tack nothing Personal Foul penalties, a defense should make them count, a la Pollard. Lay the wood. Make the hit big and extract a pound of flesh for the yards walked off.

The Flacco pick six was devastating.  It was a great play by the defensive end. Ray Rice made a poor block and that contributed but in the end it was Flacco's fault again.  Flacco is 12 TD and 12 Int or something close to that.  A 120 million dollar QB does not sink to that ratio without something being clearly amiss. The down the seam INT to Clark was completely misjudged. That play was a Boldin toss but Boldin wasn't down there to adjust.

Harbaugh's no chance challenge was also devastating. How in the world? He makes at least one Brain Dead decision a game.

Thats the game.

As far as the season, I believe Ozzie is older than his years. Having posted about his health issues the same day before the incident, I'm going to withhold for now until we know he's going to be ok.

Doss frustrates me so much, it seems everytime he takes a step forward, he seems to take 2 back the next play.

How many chances does he get?  Obviously he's just another talented guy that lacks the mental toughness to be an NFL starter.

I think Doss is taking a bit of a bad rap as well.

On the first one, he should have caught it.  If you watch that replay, the wind completely knocked that ball back which is why it hit his finger tips.  It was heading right into his hands.  He still should have caught it, but it isn't as simple of a drop as some are making it out to be.

On the second one, it was just great coverage by Jennings.  He got his hand in there and broke up the play.  That was an incredibly tough catch for Doss to make.

I'm not excusing him as the first definitely should have been caught, but it's not as simple as some are making it out to be.  Neither were easy plays considering the conditions in each scenario.

I thought Doss played well he was targeted 5 times  and caught 3  which isnt bad at all. I could be wrong but the guy seems to be a better slot receiver than Marlon Brown and  seems to be open alot more.

can't you say that about the rest of our receivers not name torrey smith. I think Doss has been playing fine he definately has step up his game and yes he has made some mistakes but it happens. Doss is currently one of the best punt returners in the league and in my opinion I think he's growing in to becoming a solid slot receiver

Eh, I don't trust him on PRs either, a la David Reed. His down side outweighs the benefits. And just because we have others with board hands doesn't mean we put up with Doss. Too bad Stoke hasn't been able to play. As slow as he is at least he is a dependable pass catcher.

He's not superman but he is a pretty good LT.

Julius Peppers is pretty darn good.  Wish we had D-lineman who could rush the backside like that.

HAHA!  It's funny because he's so arrogant.  Harbaugh is like Flacco...average.  They need alot of talented people/parts around them to look competent.

I think the question really should be out of all the receivers The Ravens have why is it always Doss that receives the most heat? Doss was targeted fives times and caught 3 how does that  equal bad hands ? Lets not pretend like Brandon Stokley hasn't dropped any passes either and I kinda doubt he would have help much if he played.

I think Doss will be fine he is not another David Reed and he's clearly a better receiver than Reed

Dude... every team needs a lot of talent.  Talent win games.

Know what Kansas City, Denver and Seattle all have in common?

Talent.

Total offense = 30th.  passing = 19th.  rushing = 27th.  scoring = 25th

Total defense = 13th.   passing = 13th.   rushing = 11th.  scoring = 24th

It's easy to forget how soggy and wet everything was, and I watched the wind affect the course of one of those drops.

The major problem in the games was the inability to score at the end of regulation to seal the win. Considering the wet conditions and sloppy field they played on, had they scored I would be satisfied with their performance. Collectively, everyone on the offense should have done just a little more.

I hope I'm wrong, but it seems that Tandon is destined to be another also ran in our race to find a slot receiver.

Gradkowski picked a bad time to botch a snap, albeit in those conditions is understandable, but still tough to stomach.  Smith was wide open.  Pitch and catch if Flacco doesn't have to move up to pick the ball up off the ground and throw quickly keeping the clock in mind.

4th and 28 at the Bears 32, a 50 yard FG, you got Justin Tucker one of (if not) the best in the entire league, your offense got stopped 3 straight times, and you go for it...

I agree, and pressure of the moment increased the likelihood of something bad happening and it did.

NTM the amount of mud on the ball after rolling around in that muck.

It was 4th and 8, and the conditions were horrible. The wind was doing both everything and nothing, and the pitch was slippery. If you take a shot, the snap has to be perfect, Tucker has to hit it perfectly in not ideal footing conditions and he's at the mercy of the wind. If you go for it and fail, it's exactly the same as messing up the kick. At the time I figured going for it was the right decision because there was less that could go wrong with Joe trying to pass for 8 yards, and I still think going for it was the right thing to do.

Sorry, I can't fault Flacco completely.

Where are our solid hands in the receiving department?

Yes, we miss Pitta, and Torrey is great, but other than those two, nobody seems to be able to hold onto the ball  for a solid catch.

Dickson is nowhere, Dallas Clark has dropped a lot of catch able balls, Doss is great on returns, and where is Jacoby this year?

I really like Marlon Brown, but he needs to stay healthy.

We have always needed security in this area, and when we had it, they dumped Boldin.

Still think that was a lame move, as he could actually  hold the pass.

Looks like Ray Rice finally got his mojo back, I think he was more hurt than thought.

High hopes for next week, although Reed knows our game plan.

Well, not to be negative nancy but temper your expectations with Ray Rice. We played a really bad defensive line Sunday...we are playing the Jets this week who have Richardson and Wilkerson. Don't expect a big game from Rice.

TE's: We are hurting without Pitta, but he'll be back next year.

- Dickson is an ok #2 b/c he's an underrated blocker and can make a big play here and there.

- Dallas Clark is not catching the ball the way he should and is a short term fix obviously.

WR's:

- Nothing needs to be said about Torrey, we love him.

- Marlon Brown has great upside and makes plays. He's dealing w/ rookie type injuries, he'll be fine in the long run.

- Jacoby will never be a #2 but I'm happy w/ him as a #3 who returns kicks and also takes the top off of the defense. On offense, he's always a threat for those long ball plays we saw in the playoffs.

- Tandon Doss I have mixed feelings about. He's got great hands but doesn't consistently get it done, jury's out on him.

With our draft pick gaining in value, I feel it's time for this franchise to get that 1st round type of stud WR. I know Ozzie didn't do well in this department in the past, but that was then. We have a capable QB now and if we could get an Elite type of receiver to grow w/ this offense we will be much better in the long haul.

The Pick 6 wasn't devastating. In fact, there wasn't a devastating play. A devastating play is one you don't recover from and the game then gets out of hand. We recovered from every bad decision and every bad play and took the game into OT.

The only play one could even begin to call devastating was the big pass play that Webb gave up because  it put them in position to win and we didn't have the opportunity to recover from it.

This was a good game from us. We made mistakes, all teams make mistakes, but we looked more like ourselves than we have all season. We lost and that makes us pick it apart but to me, there are a lot of positives in this game.

We'll see if I'm right over the next few weeks.
