I agree. Last year he showed us that he's a great back with lots of potential. He can do better and he sure deserves getting another season to show us that AGAIN before people give him too much bashing. So far McClain and Rice are getting the job done, so take it easy people.
I agree about giving him another chance next season to get healthy and be a good back for us. but i DO think he needs to stay out for the rest of the season. he's just not healthy. He was pretty much our ONLY offensive light last year. lets give him some credit... and faith.
I find it funny how some of you want to just toss a RB out the back door after one poor season. Yea its been frustrating at times watching McGahee run and get no yards but he is a proven RB in the NFL and I believe the Ravens with 3 good RB are better than 1 or 2.
Yea - he has proven himself in the past, but what can he do for us going forward? That is the question

you know what.. we do have to give him a break.. maybe today not his yr but be happy were doing good without him.. Diff story if we were loosing but were not.. but we should just start mcclain and have rice/willis as backup to give mcclain and rice some break throughout the game..
I HATE to say it.
I had every intention of being the LAST one on this band wagon.

I just have not seen Meghee do very much outstanding this season.
Maybe his hey day has come and gone.
Maybe his style doesnt fit with our O-line.
Maybe his blockers suck.

I dunno.
Rice & Mclain seem to have the job well secure.
I agree with your post. McGahee has not shown us much this season. I agree that his hey day has come and gone. What I don't understand is why he does not free up cap space if we let him go

You mean the franchise that held onto Jamal Lewis as he continously declined in our system shouldn't be allowed to try and cut ties with a player before things got even worse?

We sat and waited for Jamal to get back to form for a couple of years and went along with every single excuse out there, and altho I still respect the man and appreciate what he's done, we waited to long to try and get an adequate replacement for him. Willis hasn't done enough in a Ravens uniform for me to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Sorry about this guys. But as long as Willis is a Raven I will support him. Hes a great back that had a lackluster year. Forgive me but as much as i LOVE ray rice and Leron im going to support him.

I think he could have one more chance but shouldnt play anymore this seasoun plain and simple hes not helping or producing thats why he shouldnt play anymore this seasoun . They should just let him get the rest of this seasoun off to help him get himself togeather for next seasoun . But coach should start rice and have mclain the back up and shortyardege boy cause hes not a rb hes a fb .

I agree he deserves a shot last year he was our only RB production. This year it has been divided into 3 so obviously with 3 good backs he is not going to get as many carries as he had last year plus the injury. I say lets give him a chance he still gives us yards and thats all that counts at this point.

thanks

Basically if we want to win games this season Willis isnt going to give us the yardage we need, Im hoping he proves us wrong next season because I KNOW he'll still be here. It would be just STUPID to get rid of him.

Dont know if he will shake the injuries this year and finally get into shape by the playoffs, but Hopefully this season will be a lesson to him. He knows he better come into camp ready to play next year or there's 2 other running backs that'll put his arse on the bench

but at 100% w/ conditioning he IS the best back on the team

Meanwhile, running back Willis McGahee, who suffered a shoulder stinger and a mild concussion during a 24-10 victory over the Washington Redskins while rushing for just 32 yards on 11 carries and losing a fumble, didn't practice for undisclosed personal reasons. He wasn't listed on the injury report as being hurt.

What the HECK?! is Mcgahee just being a smartass? or is he being punished for fumbling the ball on Sunday? Do we have yet another Mccalister situation on our hands?

With an "undisclosed personal reason", you will never really know what it was unless the player tells the media. I have no idea if it is serious or not, but I find it hard to see a scenario where McGahee is here next year. BUT, with all that aside, I still think he could do okay for us the rest of this year, if he can motivate himself to run harder. He keeps running right up the middle and doesn't want to bounce outside- his constant injuries might be the cause of this. But last year, he bounced off tackle a lot and had great success. We need him in this game. As much as I like Rice, he might not play, and I find it hard to picture him lighting up the Steelers in the running game. I think everyone is kind of not giving McClain a fair shot. He might be able to pound the ball for some tough yardage Sunday. Either way, I can't wait!
