Ok this topic is to talk about him and how you feel about his future with the ravens i think he needs to go and hes gone after this seasoun its not about him having injuries 80 % of nfl players have injuries. Its about him not wanting to play football because to me it just seems he doesnt want to play football and we dont need a player like that . How does everyone else feel about mcgahee know a days .

I havent seen Clinton Portis caugh up the ball lately. And he has every injury in the book. And to be honest I doubt he got injured on that last drive. He was probably embarrased on national tv. He has gone down hill and he will always be an unmotivated and injured back. I wonder if Buffalo will take him back? :P

I think every ravens fan thinks Mcgahee needs to go, we have 2 good backs who get the job done. Mcclain with yet ANOTHER td. Mcgahee is always injured, EVERY GAME. its ridiculous, i mean look at portis. he's a tropper to me for going out with the numerous injures he had against a terrifying ravens d. mcclain is a bruiser and fights for every yard he can get. and rice is our speed back. explain to me how mcgahee benefits us?

I say the 3 headed monster is really Ray Rice, LeRon McClain, and Lorenzo Neal.

I don't know where McGahee has been, and he just seems to always get injured...it is just sad...because he kicked butt against New England last year. He has it in him, we just haven't seen it this year.

The only thing I worry about with having only McClain and Rice is that we may need that 3 headed monster . Maybe pick someone up in the draft in 09. But Willis just doesn't seem to have it anymore....that little studder step thing he does hurts my head every time.

I agree now . Ive defended him over and over blaming his performance on not being 100% healthy. When will that be...ever? We have a slasher/receiver in Rice and a mauler in McClain. Heck even Neal can carry for those 1-2 gains. We should trade now and pick up a bruiser back for depth.

We dont and not only that he doesnt benifit us he make us worst, when hes in we loss yards and he just doesnt look like he wants to play because you cant get injuried every week, and when the coach didnt let him play last week he didnt care because he doesnt want to play anyway thats why he didnt say anything about it .

Come to think about it should be looking at our Conditioning Coach? I mean with all the long term injuries on the team, maybe he is babying them too much lol.

He dropped a pass, he bobbled a toss that fumbled out of bounds for a loss, he barely moved the ball when he ran, and he fumbled the ball, all behind the same line that Leron McClain ran behind (who rushed for 60 yrds+, scored a rushing td, picked up first down after first down, and came through in the clutch).

I seriously don't see Willis McGahee being a Raven next year.

p.s. Anyone still think we should trade Suggs?

Well I don't want to go off topic or anything but Suggs needs to stay IMO. But we will have to get rid of somone with a big paycheck to do the things we need to do next year. Willis wouldn't get much right now unfortunately for a trade.

It seems like we have this conversation after every game. That's a bad sign. If we notice it, the coaches notice it too.

It depends on his cap space, and how much his signing bonus was, IMO. If it wasn't that high of a signing bonus, and he doesn't have many years left on his contract maybe see if he is a worthy trade to someone? I'm all for it, but I want to make sure it doesn't hurt us bad because of a signing bonus.

Probably.

Honestly, this is exactly why McGahee should've been a team player and showed up for the offseason conditioning program like everyone else did. Yes, he may have been rehabbing his knee at home, but he could've done that same work in Baltimore with (probably) better facilities. So, unless McGahee was unable to walk (which I doubt), there's no excuse for him to not have shown up.

And a lot of McGahee defenders will say that his showing up overweight was a gross exaggeration or an overstatement...but do you now understand why a lot of people made such a big deal about it to begin with?

Why do players condition? To train their bodies to take punishment. Why do they punish themselves so early? So they can handle more punishment later in the season. Your body will take as much as you're willing to give it, and clearly, McGahee hasn't worked hard enough.

Fumbling indicates an issue with fundamentals. Dropping passes indicates a lack of focus. I could go on and on, but the man needs to step up. The team isn't paying him big bucks for nothing...

For the amount of production hes given us this year, we could use a 3rd or 4th rounder to replace him. Much like Dallas did with GT's Tashard Choice, just a well rounded back that will help fill in when needed.

I doubt anyone takes a flyer on him given his contract, if we can get a 4th rounder I say pull the trigger if the cap his isnt insane. I have tried to give him a chance (probably because I bought an authentic WM jersey last year) but its just every game he looks worse then either of the other 2 backs.

A "Top" rb gets outperformed week after week by this years 2nd rounder and last years 4th rounder.... not a good sign. I think its time we give him the official backup role, the emergency back role. Maybe he will get p****d in the offseason and rededicate himself, come in healthy and it will be a different season next year. But, as far as this season goes, I doubt he provides much help down the stretch.

He made so many stupid mistakes tonight.... Fumble, Drops, bad cuts...... I just dont see how you can put him out there expecting anything other then crappy production

Dude, it was absolutely painful to watch him play today. Can Anita Marks please shut up now about him being our "best back"..... i honestly thought he would be able to contribute, if we kept him healthy and such, and pound some big plays out in the clutch down the stretch......but it looked like he was trying to fail for some reason. Coughing up the ball twice, once leading to a touchdown--completely unacceptable. He's not a rookie. Joe's turnover was excusable, and the defense held them to 3--but McGahee's untimely turnover put the game within reach for the dreaded skins....and that is a painful thought to muse over for the next several years until we play them again. For now, thankfully, we own braggin' rights--but had McGahee had his way, well, we might not. I knew he was already gone after this year, but you'd think he's want to play well to get some bidders for next season. I bet he ends up at Cincy--the team notorious for the worst backs in the league. No complaints here. How about a Houshmandzadeh trade. What a bargain that would be, and to think how stupid that organization has been--we might have a very very good target. Someone call OZ!!!! AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS PURPLE AND BLACK---NO MCGAHEE IN THE STEELERS GAME!!! this is way too important!!!

I have an ubber crush on McClain :-) and I hope you all did your daily duty of voting a pro-bowl ballot for him (and REED, NGATA, PRYCE, LEWIS, SUGGS, KOCH, MASON) 2 more days......

now what am I to do with my 2 McGahee jerseys?!?!

Keep the jerseys as willis aint goin nowhere
if we cut ir trade him we will have 10 mil of dead cap next year so its cheaper to keep him as a backup, he sucks but hes a good 3rd string, we cant afford to cut him (literatly)

he will be a raven next year even though every ravens fan wants him gone

I am with you.

I hate how people just want to toss a player because they have one bad year (this is more typical at the rb postion).

Just look the potential he showed last year behind...honestly a pretty bad O-line.

And about Anita Marks...I obviously agree with her. She is actually smarter than I once thought.

For this season (which is likely his last here) we can use him when we need to and draft/pick up someone to replace him in a 3 head attack.

Hes still a better all-round back than McClain and Rice and if hes refreshed/motivated he will have a 150yard game against anyone. I have a feeling this is where Harbaugh resting him will come into play, sure hes always hurt and no longer a 30 carry every down back but hes still our big play back and we're going to need him healthy in the playoffs.

Personally I think o-line depth is the key here, if we get the line perfect then the running game will take care of itself.

he needs to just rest....maybe until next season so he can come out completely healthy! He can still run with the best backs in the league! I said it before, he had +1,200 yards behind a bad o-line last season. Imagine a fully recovered, fully strong, McGahee behind a young o-line that is gelling very well, we could have a +1500 yd rusher. Just let the man rest and show him some support. Nobody was saying lets get rid of Willis when he was the only offense we had. When he gained over 1200 yds in a season when they could predict that we would run just about every down. He was a monster last year despite opposition stacking 8 in the box against him. I agree with some on letting him rest, recover and recondition himself. We should see a better Willis than last year and this year combined. Just my .02

Next year McGahee and Boller are both gonna be gone. That's a lot off the salary cap. We get to keep Suggs. Hopefully the O-line'll be healthy by September.

I think the main reason he is the way he is now is because of missing the OTA's and stuff like that. I say we give him one more year, IF he makes all OTA's and camps and stuff like that summer and comes back in shape. I would like to have a chance to have the OLD Mcgahee leading our three headed monster next year.

The more back you have the better! McClain is very good in the middle but he is a full back, so next year if neal does not come back, who will be blocking? Rice will be a pretty good back as far as I can see. McGahee injured and needs to get on the bus with the off season program, that is his main problem. We could trade him for a 4th or 5th round draft pick, Hmmmmmmm! Then draft another back not knowing at all what we are getting or just keep him until his contract is up and allow the draft process to replace him as we go along. Maybe next year he will get on the bus, have a great season and then everyone will be voting him to the Pro-Bowl! I think we are way to critical of our player's! :o
