Ed Reed

To those that say he should just hang 'em up...

So, you're in the NFL and have two potentially playoff bound teams fawning over you. One is ran by a defensieve genius and the other is (supposedly) the greatest coach of the modern day era. Both are going to offer you a milly or two and a heavily incentive laden contract. What do YOU do?

I'm jumping at it. Anyone who will pay you that much. Get your money while you can.

Ravens didn't resign Ed Reed with big money because they knew how injured he was. Apparently the Texans didn't know he needed that kind of surgery before giving him that money.

that's a little bit silly for a team's doctors to pass on that during a physical...

Yup play till they have to drag your old butt off the field if that is what you want. Screw the loaylists who think he should hang em up because the team he played for all these years did not want him anymore. He is and will always be a Raven and the Ravens best safety. However, Ed needs to make decisions for Ed and if he feels he still has even a slight desire to play ball, then he better do it now. He will not get another chance to relive his pro ball days and in 5 years he will not be playing anymore, no matter how bad he wants too.

Yeah our safeties are much better than last year.

Read that Little Napoleon stated the Ravens have no intention of signing Ed in any capacity. We'll just have to add that one to the litany of missteps the "managers" have made in the last year.

Of course Little Napoleon had eye-wear on. It was decidedly flowery in color.

Teach me your ways troll master..

"Little Napoleon"- that's awesome

Rex wants the Jets to be the Ravens so badly.

Or considering this is the second team he signed with that just happened to play Baltimore in Baltimore this season, he was trying to tell Ozzie he wants to come back.

It could be worse. After all, I never want to see Ed Reed wearing a Patriots jersey... * Shudders *

Oh, and Derrick Mason went from being a New York Jet for, like, 4 games, following his stint with the Ravens, to finishing the year with the Texans; and, now, while the destinations have swapped, it's dejavu, all-over-again, with Reed's situation.

no actualy then I would be laughing at tom brady ,, from young and gunslining  and prison to old needing to retire and busted

They already said they won't be signing Reed so you're proposing a hypothetical.

Don't know we'd have to cut anyone. Omar Brown could go back to the practice squad. However, if we had to cut someone the vote here would be Cleats. The sooner we send him packing the better. There's no way they'll do that at this juncture. There's some guarantee money  all, but at the end of his salary cap impact the position here is he'll be gone

I dont know why you  hate Matt Elam but I  think he's going to be very good player but thats my opinion.

Ravens haters(silly Ravens fans included who love to badmouth the team) will badmouth Ozzie if the Jets win even if Reed does nothing or plays terrible in the game.

Of course they did.  The NY Jets are where old Ravens go to become irrelevant.  Good for Reed ... get all the money while you can in your last days.  I love fans telling him to quit.  Fans sure are quick to tell other people what to do with their own money.

I love Ed Reed and the nostalgic guy wants me to see him in purple and black again, but we can not have Ed Reed's mouth running in the Ravens locker room anymore .... not when he can't contribute at the levels you use to.  I worry about Ed and the NY media.  Hopefully, with only 7 games left in the season, there won't be any time for Ed to be Ed.

Maybe the Jets will release him in time to sign with the Patriots when they're here on 12/22.

Yup. Nothing against 85 but he legacy isn't any where near Ed Reed. I wish he could just retire lol

He's already had his homecoming while with the Texans, so does he get booed this time around?
