Ed Reed

Too banged up to play this season. His hip made him extremely slow on the field. Would of been best to retire like Ray. That being said COME to the Ravens coaching staff NOW!!! Would be great to see him on the sidelines helping with the defense.

Our secondary is good.  It's actually one of the best parts of our Defense/Team at this point.  As a coach, assistant,  or coordinator maybe.  Or simply just to retire a Raven.

We'll host a ring of honor ceremony for Ed pretty soon.....

He's totally done as a player.....

PS: At least he got a  5mil as a Christmas gift from the Texans.....

He's not the same player on the field. Sign him to retire as a Raven after the season and maybe use him sparingly on the field? I could see him out there in some sub packages, but I don't think he would want that tbh.

NO NO NO. I highely doubt he would fit into harboughs coaching staff as well, I believe they butted heads and as was said before as a player he is toast and I think the combo of Elam and Ihedigbo are better than any combo with Reed in it currently

He's not nearly the same player, but for nostalgia, I'd re-sign him just as a situational player.

I'm a sucker for nostalgia.

Hell I'd bring him back just because he's my favorite Raven of all-time.  That's good enough.

I wouldn't give him anything more than the vet minimum.  It would be fun to chant 'Reeeeed' again.  The Ravens haven't given us much more to root for.

If we had a spot for him without cutting someone decent sure. Even if he cannot start right now, letting him rest, and coach up Elam the rest would not be bad.

After Sundays game he criticized the coaching staff.  I knew then he was done with them and they would soon be done with him. Lol...

And they gave him 5 mil, smh.

Can't imagine him playing anymore but would love to see him working in the Ravens organization in some capacity.

Yep. Would like to see him sign 1-day contract to retire a Raven. He's too riddled with injuries to be effective on the field anymore.

I'd be open for him to come back as a coach though, obviously.

C'mon, Ed. Bow out and let's start booking our trips to Canton.

There is a reason why he got cut...

For the same reason every Raven who leaves the team does, fails to do anything outside of the Ravens system.

Of course, age is apart of it for Reed unfortunately but even not healthy, his presence alone back on our defense would make quarterbacks think of where they throw it at.Now they may succeed but they will definitely think about not throwing it his way.

Resign him so the last jersey he ever wears is a Ravens one.  I didn't see much of him with the Texans but it appeared they started using him closer to the line than the centre field he was used to playing here the last 4 years.  Wonder if that did him in.  Thats alot more change of direction on his hip than Im sure it could handle.

Reed will most likely retire after this season.

We'll probably sign him on that one day contract so he can retire as a Raven.

For now, I doubt we're interested in signing a broken and unmotivated aged player who is way past his prime.

Come on, we even cut Michael Huff. I doubt we sign Reed when he can't even beat the 3rd stringers in Houston.

He will sign a contract with the Ravens. Whether as a retiring contract or veteran minimum to play special packages/mentor the young secondary. I'd love to see him be an assistant for the secondary coach or even possibly become the secondary coach one day.

Edit: I don't know if the NEXT contract he signs will be with the Ravens, but he'll re-sign with us at some point. I'm sure Belichick saw he's a free agent again and jumped out of his seat with excitement.

In all seriousness, it wouldn't be hard to find a roster spot for him if we really wanted him back.  The question is whether he'd be willing to accept a backup/mentorship role.  I doubt he does come back, but for nostalgic purposes, I'd love to see it happen.

I don't think Ed will sign with us, just to play as a back-up, so my guess is he signs with us at some point to retire as a Raven.
