If you make the playoffs nobody really remembers the ugly wins. A Win is a Win.
Does anybody want to talk about that awful 9-6 win last year on the road in KC?
Oh, that's right, we forgot how KC should have won but we went to the playoffs and won the SB. Granted, lots of work to be done but I feel 9-7 will get a team in.

It is still easy to be negative about a lot of things but not sure this is a time to be negative. The Ravens know the areas they still need improvement in, and we were losing the close ugly games but we won one this week - so I will be positive. The Bengals are a decent team and we desperately needed to beat them and we did. I am happy we got the win. We have a long way to still get into the playoffs but our season is not over so let's fight and do this!

The Ravens are currently averaging 2.78 yards per carry, which is not just the worst mark in the NFL this year but the worst mark in the NFL in 60 years.

Until that improves, it's going to be hard to turn this season around.

i agree with Webb. This should have been a relatively easy win for the Ravens. Will this turn around the season, no. The Bears will be hard to beat this weekend.

I just had a bad feeling during the game that Joe was going to get hurt. I thank God it didn't happen, but this team is catching breaks left, right and center. Every time Flacco gets drilled and gets right up, we catch another break. If you think I'm lying ask the Broncos, Titans, Eagles... shoot, just wait until Sunday and ask the Bears! You have to protect your QB... there is no "ifs", "ands", or "buts" about it! Oh and run the darn ball for more than four yards a pop while you're at it! Damn!!!

"Despite baseless fan speculation, Juan Castillo was never the offensive line coach. His official title is "Run Game Coordinator". As of this moment, I've seen no evidence to suggest either title or roles have changed."

Does it matter? Neither are doing a good job!

Does it matter what Castillo's job title is? Point is Harbs has given him control of the offensive line and his result in the endeavor is indeed offensive. Tired of hearing this that and the other is being worked on, improved, and my favorite "tweaked" week in and week out. It is evident to everyone nothing Harbs and Castillo have been teaching to the OL has worked. Do something anything different. And Rice has to drop on the depth chart. It is painful watching his ineptness, not only running but picking up blitzes. He is going to get Flacco injured. Make BP the starter. We won Sunday, but that offensive performance is going to lose 9 out of 10 games.

Nop!!! because I seen the same dumb mistakes at the very end of this game in regulation that's been plagueing this team all year..

Maybe Im just being optimistic, but I do think this may be the turn around, similar to the Texans loss last year. I compare our lost to the Browns last week to that, not because it was a blowout, but because it was embarrassing. It was the final straw. Now our offense did not play well yesterday, but defense won the game. Last year in the regular season, many games were one because of defense. Offense was awesome in the playoffs, but they struggled regular season last year as well. So if defense continues to play at this level (they have only continued to get better), they may be the key to at least making the playoffs.
Offense needs to get something together, starting with zone blocking.

I would be optimistic and say yes but the ravens haven't had one impressive offensive performance in 9 out of 9 games . Even a terrible offense can have one impressive game out of nine but we haven't . Rushing attack is dreadful and ray rice couldn't play any worse if he had a broken leg and arm . Just being real , I was happy we got a win but I don't expect much from a team who has consistently been playing poorly on offense.

"It was a good team win" - Ray Rice.

Ray I love you bro. I even met you in a mexican restaurant here in Puerto Rico and you were the humblest, funniest person I have met, but man this was not a team win. This W was all on the defense. The offense scored 2 TD early and flacco only had to throw for 44yds to accomplish that. We all know the running game did not contribute anything to those 14 points. The D had the offense in great field position almost the entire game and in the second half the offense could not score a measly 3 points to make it slightly easier on the defense coming down the stretch.

Must be getting real frustrating for the defense to hold opponents to less than 20 points every week and have 1) such a lousy record and 2) the few wins we own have been nail bitters. (Houston game doesn't count that was all defense and ST)

Just a random thought. Im glad the offense could come together for 4 games last year to send Ray Lewis, ED, Birk etc etc away with a SB win. Ray had this army playing great defense for 16.5 years. I'm glad the offense bailed him out the last half season of his career. Frustrating to play so well and give your offense so many opportunities and watch them do nothing.

If only this offense could move the ball and kill time. I am not asking for TDs consistently. If they could at least move the ball, chew time up and end up with a FG more times than not we would be winning a ton more games. I am not advocating for FGs, I am advocating for simply moving the ball, tiring their defense, resting our defense and we would win more games. TDs will come. But if we can at least hold on to the ball and look like a balanced team on offense and defense this team will finish at least 12-4 each and every season. Other offenses spend to much time on the field due to our offensive ineptitude.

Man it was great to see a victory!!
Although, after reading the article I have to say that I am not totally convinced that this was a complete turnaround.. I am an optimist and I believe in Joe, and Coach, we have a great organization that is why I an leaning towards saying we should have a turnaround. BUT I will not be convinced until we can put a complete game together. Not a fast start and a sloppy finish or the opposite. but a complete game from the first whistle to the last.

The broth has been spoiled by having too many cooks in the kitchen.  Broth being the offense and too many cooks being one controlling the run game and one controlling the passing game. Result: an offense in confusion and disaray.  We ran the ball last season without a run game coordinator, and our current offensive coordinator got us to the Super Bowl.  C'mon Harbs you know what you need to do!

I personally will be watching The Browns/Bengals matchup this week and be rooting for the Browns to harrass and hurry Dalton into making major mistakes. A Browns win would crush Cincy, and that would make me Happy! Our game against Chicago is just as important. Our Defense needs to continue to shine (God, I'm proud of them!). Our Offense needs to step up, and establish any kind of running game that is better than what we have punished with so far this year. WIN this next one for us RAVENs!

Without the overtime, I don't believe that our $20 million/season QB would have passed for over 100 yards against the Bengals. Flacco is making too much money. Rice seems to have lost it, but that's when $20 million QBs take the offense on their backs and start lighting up score board with 350-400 yard passing performances..... right? More than half Flacco's salary could be allocated to an upgrade at slot WR and/or OL. We have a $6-$7 million QB making $20mil & blowing up the cap space, as the team needs more play makers. This team won't be able to win more than 6 games without some help.

Jay Cutler may be out this week, but that doesn't mean that Flacco can rest. Chicago will still come out fighting. We can all see that the run game has evaporated, but that's when "ELITE" QBs pick their teams up and lead them to victory with their arms.....right? Flacco hasn't had a note-worthy performance this season or since the too Cool-to-Care Captain signed that Cap-Crushing Contract.

Flacco is having a normal season, same as it ever was. He has really bad games and a few bright spots. After watching him this year it's still unbelievable that we won the SB last year. How did Flacco have such a performance knowing how he usually plays? I also can't get that he sits largely by himself in the heat of the game. I really don't get that. No coaches, players, phone, nothing. It's like he doesn't realize what is going on. If he's our leader we're dead. Hope they show up in Chicago but this year....not so sure.

LOL. Are you serious? What makes you think Flacco hasn't gotten better compared to previous seasons? I remember when offensive plays or the line would collapse, he settle for the sack. Look at him now. He's extending plays with his feet, finding open guys down field and throwing pin-point passes on the run which is hard to do. He's also had some scrambles this season picking up first downs and what not. You have to understand the position that hes in. New offensive line/runningback coach, new faces catching the ball. This is a new offense and I didn't expect it to be great. They gave him lemons and he made lemonade. Yeah hes's had bad games but his play outweighs that. Flacco is a humble guy that doesnt let the pressure get to him. Why do you think hes so good in the playoffs and coming from behind wins. If we would have got the offense off the field last sunday, we would have won that game. He's a great leader and he doesnt have to be rowdy to show it. He brings that calm composer which suits very well with the Ravens. He doesnt buckle under pressure and that's why he won the SB last year. In all the games we lost or INT that he thrown, majority of it was not his fault. Receivers dropping or tipping passes for INT, defense struggling to get the offense of the field, run game is still horrible. If you ask me hes doing well for the season to be so bad

We win in Chicago if we have less then 6 penalties, Flacco throws for 230 yards and 2 TDs, Run Game gets 90 yards, Defense gets 3 sacks and 2 TOs while holding there run game to 70 yards. We also need to win the first quarter and 3rd quarter.

Someone earlier said that elite quartebacks pick up their team when they can't get it done with the run game. Well how many elite quarterbacks get it done when their line doesn't keep them on their feet? Also how was is contract cap crushing this year, I believe he is only making 8.6 million this year, aren't terrell suggs, haloti ngata both making more than him? And isnt ray rice right in at about the same as well?
