[News] Could Sunday's Ravens Win Turn Around Season?

112 posts in this topic

Hmmmm. 1-4 on road this year. We have a horrible regular season road game QB over the last 2 1/2 years. No run game this year. How many games can the Ravens win by scoring less that 20 pts? Right now, someone explain to me why I should think the Ravens will win even one more road game this year. I'm not saying they can't, I'm just saying there is no good reason to believe they will. A 5-2 finish is a stretch with our schedule. That put's us at 9-7 which means we will need help to get a playoff birth.

Our brand of offense won't get it done, not against the likes of the Broncos, who score like 3 out of every 4 possessions....9 games into the season, and the offense has not shown any real progress from the first week....

You are right. No progress at all, which makes you seriously have to ask the question " Is Ray Rice done?". Before you Neg me hear me out and think.

Yes, the O-line is very bad, But have you ever seen him go down so quick? just by a hand on foot?

It seems that he cannot bounce it outside anymore? Does it hurt?

He say's that he is healthy, but if that is true and he is running like this?

This is what his 4th or 5th year? Look at all the punishment he has taken since he has carried the rock so many times, not to mention catching passes.

I love the guy and I know that the O-Line reeks. It almost makes me hope that he is hurt just for a reason.

GO RAVENS!

I wish this would turn the season around but I higly doubt it. The offense is awful. I hate to say it because he has done so much for the Ravens but Ray Rice is done. Any type of contact and Ray and is down. Even on the first down cetch in overtime, the old Ray would have juked the defender when he caught the ball and scorer or at least beat the tackle in the open field. I'm sorry guys but he has no explosion. Our offense is inept. Its almost like our franchise is cursed to have a struggling offense. Other than our playoff run last year. It was encouraging to see our defense get some turnovers. I wish we would continue to blitz like that going forward. That is when we are at our best. Expect a let down next week against Chicago. Its been that type of year.

@TheRavengers Well yeah, you kind of have to get playing time to ever do anything. For all we know, if the Ravens had given Kindle more actual playing time, he might have come around and impressed. But he didn't get it. Tyson is getting it now that Spears is gone. Which convinces me more than ever that we should have kept Boldin as a security blanket for the offense, because our D-line, I believe, would have been just fine with Ngata, Cody, Williams, Jones, McPhee (in his natural position), Tyson and maybe Hall. Canty is good, but we didn't "need" him either. The young bucks are what it's all about, and I see good things going forward with these guys. I just hope next year they have the good sense to let McPhee go back to his natural DE position, because he is not an LB.

I would like to think so but the fact is we didn't win because we played good. They lost because they played badly. Our D was playoff D but all the chances they gave the offense, all the short fields and saves they gave the O didn't amount to much and as long as the Offense can just shut down for an entire half we need to be looking for who we're going to get with our top 15 pick in the draft. Sad but true

there is a bungals headline on their crappy website and it is "The M&T Miracle" - haha. the last time i felt that way in M&T Bank after a play was the Cleveland FG game, Peyton Playoff loss , Boller Brady bowl 07 Rexs timeout, Potamalu stripping Joe around the end loss. Yesterday would have been in that category but we pulled it off!!!! Great win we got our moneys worth yesterday.

The question was asked if Ray Rice is done....Or maybe he is hiding an injury or possibly both...Either way he has been brutal so far and will the Ravens have cut him loose at the end of the season?

I hate this. It seems like since that since we won, the ravens staff is trying to spin this as if everything is fixed and we just need to buckle up fot the playoffs. In the meantime they've done nothing to address the real issues at hand. All they did was come up with a few trick plays as a smokescreen and then patted themselves on the back for a "hard fought win". This season is turning into a joke no matter how many wins we get, with the o line play, running game, and terrible coaching as the punchlines.

Oh wait, but I forgot... "fix bayonets".

With Rice struggles we need to start Pierce and bring rice in on obvious passing downs. Pitta should be back any week now so that will give us a treat down the middle so LBs can quit blitzing down the middle of the oline. If these thing happen we should be fine. I believe Rice is still injuried.

Love the win yesterday, but the offense is still in huge trouble. The defense won't be able to carry us like yesterday for the rest of the season! Rice needs to be benched. Pierce looked like him old self yesterday, but Rice looks like the air in his football tires are flat. I don't think they can be plugged and refilled with fresh air. It's time for Ozzie to go tire shopping in the draft next season. Thank you Rice for the 5 years of outstanding play, and 4th and 29. Don't kid yourself Ray, your Hay days are over!!

I wonder what is going through Castillo's mind right now. He has to know that his "tweaks" were terrible. But what is he doing to fix it? I mean our running game is horrible. I would have never thought it was possible to say Ravens and horrible run game in the same sentence. It is very disturbing to watch our O line consistently perform so badly in a game. I love my team to death. I bleed purple n black all day but Castillo's changes are killing us and I'm sick of it. They have to make some sort of change asap. We just have to hope that it's not late to make that change. But they did fire Cam late and we went to the SB so anything is possible but things have to change NOW!

The offense has to click and get going before we can turn this season around. That means getting the running game going as well as completing pass plays greater than 20 yards .

I think Pitta coming back is going to make a Huge Difference.

Don't forget, Taylor was the ONLY player to gain more than 10 yards. He deserves the biggest praise in our deteriorating offensive line

Last year was a bit different with that Giants win. We beat the Giants soundly in every phase of the game. That was the first time in a long time, that season, we looked like we could be something special.

Yesterday, we had 1 quarter of strong all-around play, then we basically fizzled out. I'd like to see a statement performance against a weak Bears D by our O this week. Our D is pretty darned good. I'm not worried about them so much.

@"ThPopeye the sailor man "The Ravens knows their back's against the wall,It's really up to them as to where they going,if they hungry enough then we should be Okie Dokie providing we don't lose anymore game this season,It'll all come down as to HOW BAD WE WANT TO WIN, 1 more loss and that will be all she wrote"

This to is not a case of "how bad we want to win" All our players want to win. Look at Jimmy Smiths reaction on the sideline after the Hail Mary! This is more of a case of "Not having the right coaching aka the right scheme" "Not putting our players in a position to win"

Turn around the season? With this offense? Child please. We have a 120 million dollar QB and we still need the defense to carry us to the playoffs. And with a road trip to Chicago this Sunday, all we can do is just hope for mercy.

@ The Mom Gene "I think Pitta coming back is going to make a Huge Difference."

We have to be cautiously optimistic. Pitta suffered a hip fracture, not an ankle injury or knee sprain. That's a major injury. At this point I just hope Pitta can regain his form even if it takes him another 12 months to do so. To expect him to be our savior on offense this season is asking a lot and might lead to unrealistic expectations.
