Forearm is considered part of the hand, so it should have been a fumble. Had his knee or elbow hit, he would have been down by contact. Because only his forearm hit, the play wasn't technically over.
Hopefully the NFL will admit this call and review was a mistake . It almost cost us the game .

Please Raven coaches read this and tell me why you can't fix the run game.

Ok we won. but this was not a good game. After 9 games the same issue shows up every week, no run game. So I am asking point blank, what is the problem? is it blocking, Ray/Benard or coaching? Before this season Ray Rice was a top five running back. Now he is last with 2.7 yards per carry. Not to mention he can't get yards in the open field. I can not belive the coaches can't see the run games issues and they can't fix this after nine games.

Time and time again they have said there are problems with the run game.

Not much they can do about a lack of talent. They've changed the scheme back to what it was last year. Just a lack of talent.

This is the same line as last year minus Matt Birk. They added Monroe because Bmac was not getting it done.so why can't they run the ball if they went back to what worked last year?

I'm still really concerned because we are only playing one half of football.

Positive takeaways from this game------. The defense looked good and special teams is back on track.

Negative------The offense still looks terrible.

A win is still a win.  I guess

Pretty much status quo for the entire year except a few slip ups on STs (albeit awful slip ups) and the game ending drives the defense allowed to Jason Campbell and the Steelers offense.

I'm still really concerned because we are only playing one half of football.

Think this is the formula to expect for the rest of the way.

This formula is pretty much what to expect the rest of the way out.  The offense isn't going to get better.  You simply can't win a ton of games when your HBs are on pace for the worst rushing attack since 1953.

Did anyone else notice on the hail mary Sizzle and Doom were dogging it and not making any effort at all to put pressure on Dalton and make the throw as difficult as possible for him? Even if you don't get a sack try to collapse the tackles in on him so he has throw before he wants to (very long developing routes to begin with) or collapse the pocket enough that he can't step into the throw cleanly. I know Digz made a bonehead play but I really don't understand the thought process behind the 3 man rush just standing there and letting Dalton be 100% comfortable making that throw.

I though Sizzle and Doom both played good games but there was no point of them even being on the field for the hail mary the way they stood there. Might as well have had 3 more db's back there if they aren't going to even attempt any sort of pass rush. I'm scratching my head about that more then I am about Digz making a natural reaction on the ball.

Boy the front office has to be feeling wet in the pants over the money invested in this quarterback. This offense is so bad it makes me think fondly of the Kyle Boller era.

This offense is bad on so many levels I wonder who on the coaching staff is going to lose jobs at the end of the season.

What did you think of the OL in this game? I could only watch the first two quarters, but I thought it looked better.

Cant stand all of the wagon jumpers here. Always the first to fire everyone.

We WON.

After watching that game, I am CONVINCED
that our main problem is the Oline. They get ZERO push upfront, they cant pass protect.

I'd like to see Pierce used more with Rice in the slot. Rice may not average a lot of yards per carry, but he's still a playmaker and could be useful as a pass catcher.

We got a top 10 defense again and people are complaining about the offense, play calling and Flacco's play. Deja Vu all over again, did we get Cam Cameron back or is there a trend?...

Clearly you weren't around during the Boller years.

I couldn't agree with you more.  Its a shame the running game can't win us the close games.

YESSSS!!! We WON!!! What's there to complain about? I don't care how we got there. The Ravens played hard all the way through. We fought and found a way to win. That's all that you can ask of a team. We played against one of the best defenses in the league, but our defense showed that they are one to be reckoned with, as well. Our offense faltered at times, but they made the plays to win. Our special teams did what they had to do without penalties or mistakes and J Tuck was money.
I really would just want to feel good right now. We WON!!! Give them credit. They deserve it.

I mean...we won but we definitely should not be that happy..if you can see all of the problems we have then I don't know what to tell you but this run game/o-line is pathetic...that was a terrible performance by the refs as well..they should be embarrassed but we didn't play that well..

BTW we're going to have a problem for years to come with Gio...kid is something else

Most of us were in the "next up: Bengals" thread screaming "just win" "just beat the Bengals" "don't care if it's ugly, just win".

Now it isn't good enough lol

Did anyone see these guys on the sidelines? Screaming with the fans and making noise while the Bengals had the ball. They were in this 100% until the end. All of them. And they delivered.

I don't care that Diggs made a boneheaded play that let Cincy tie the game in unreal fashion. I don't care that the defense fell apart on that one drive that let Cincy pull within a TD. I don't care that the offense floundered in the 2nd half.

When it came down to it, they all did their part and pulled out the win. It would have been easy to become deflated and give up after that Hail Mary. They didn't. They got it done.

Now on to the Bears. Let's see if all that fire and hope can ignite something in these guys.

I was one that said; "just beat the bengals!"  and now i'm saying "just beat the bears!"  lol!

you see to me; a win (pretty or ugly) doesn't justify piss poor game play from our offense or defense.  but that's just me!  I want to see our boys look like and play like an offensive and defensive juggernaut and contender!  I want teams to be fearful of them...they are not!  I want teams to wonder how will they stop Joe Flacco and this "high powered and high octane offense."  they feel that they know how!  I want the analysts (besides Boomer) to pick the Ravens to win the game because they are just too much for "ANY" team to handle!  I want to see Ravens and Joe Flacco highlights on Sportscenter, ESPN and NFL Network of him lighting it up through the air instead of the constant reruns of all of his fumbles, int's, over and under throws etc.  the truth of the matter is that we Ravens fans are holding our breathes and clutching our chests whenever our boys take the field regardless of who they are playing.  some things got to change!  could THIS be the game?  don't know cause we've been saying that for 9 weeks now!  oh well!

Go Ravens....beat the bears!

You do realize that even if he lights it up in the air, ESPN will find that one strip sack or INT to show right? LOL

I know what you mean and I get it but right now, I'm glad we beat the Bengals. I saw something in those guys on the sidelines I haven't seen all season when they were shouting it out with the crowd. I'm hoping it can grow and ignite this team.

Now, just beat the dang Bears! lol

I guess all of that would be nice, but we were a "bad 6 and 2 team" last year winning ugly and we limped into the POs. Didn't bother me a bit when we weren't the favorites of the talking heads, nor did I feel any less proud when in February I heard Joe say "I get a car? Really? "

Winning ugly was the chance we had against pburgh, GB and the brownies. Those are the games we won last year, and if we could have toughed it out and won them this year we sit at 7 and 2. That's the kind of win that separates the champs from the chumps. Maybe this game(or games, they really had to win twice yesterday) gives them some heart and fire and brings improvement.

That said, it is frustrating to see zero improvement in the O line play and RR, especially Rice. Every touch, you knew as soon as he was challenged he was falling, bracing for the hit. Something's obviously not right and he should sit until it's fixed. Pierce at least looked somewhat positive in his limited chances. Give him the reps until Ray again proves he has some fight in him.
