Look..i think its time ray rice be benched. Hes looked beyond pathetic and i dont see him suddenly coming to life. Just play pierce as a starter and try out scott. Honestly rice cannot do it and its time to say thanks but you need to sit. Sadly we overpaid him ..so we have that conundrum

Not a great game, but we got the win. Something does have to give with Ray Rice though. He's doing nothing in open space in the rare times he finds it.

don't wanna pile on Ray as I'm a fan of the "man" and the "player" but he's not giving much help in pass blocking either. As much as he says nothing is wrong, he looks to clearly have lost something and I think confidence is at the top of the list.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we seem to do ok in the redzone. We just can't move the chains to get there without penalties.

This is true.  Luckily our defense gave us the ball in the redzone today.

Yeah I mean not everything is 100% his fault, but he's not doing well at all. There were holes there today that he wasn't hitting, but Pierce was. And like you said, he's missed so many blocks. Something has to give at some point.

at least when Pierce hits the whole he goes for (more) positive gain, Ray gave us 2nd and 9 way too many times today

The O line still kind of sucked it up in both run blocking & pass protection this game. It did seem like some of the scheme was more what we used to run last season though. Perhaps we are phasing the new scheme out.

Get outta here with the neg nancy crap!

This is a huge win for this team. Division leading Bengals. I know we like to make fun of the Bengals around here but outside of Dalton, they are a very good football team!

We won people! A must win game and we actually won!

yea I the kid from the Bengals reminded me of the good ol days with Ray Rice. Explosive and hard to bring down with one guy. Rice missing holes has been a reoccurring theme from what I see this season. As you said it's not all his fault but in the few times could have got something going he just didn't seem to have any burst or interest in hitting the hole.

As much as I don't like it, I'm starting to be reminded of the 05-06 Jamal Lewis

The offensive line is GARBAGE.

We couldn't pick up one first down at the end of the game to seal it, instead we had to sweat it out.

OL and run game is jank.

That's exactly what I was telling my buddy today. Ray Rice looks like the dancing version of Jamal Lewis. Indecisive.

He redeemed himself in overtime; so, there's that.

Obviously, the o-line is still a mess. Juan Castillo has got to go, immediately! But, other than that, it might just be a good idea to activate Bernard Scott and Bernard Pierce should be the primary 'back. Because, Ray Rice can't be depended on too much, at this point.

I'm a big fan of Ray Rice, but have to concede something is amiss.

Agree also with my nemesis rmw or rwm, whatever....He's dancing when he needs to be accelerating.

How many yards did we have though? They sat on us. Don't know how we got a 17 point lead on them. But we'll take it.

Just checked the log...we had 189 net yards and they had 134 penalty yards.

Can we play all of the rest at M&T Bank?

The officials sucked, cut the officials.  Seriously, terribly called game.  Ridiculous calls against both teams.  Blatantly missed calls against both teams.  No explanations for calls that looked completely the opposite of how they were called.  Could not manage the game correctly either.  I give them an F grade this week.

This is shocking lol. We agree on something.

These officials were worse than our OL and that's saying something. They were terrible. The worst officiating I've seen in a long time. High school referees have been better. These guys shouldn't referee next week or ever again. They need to be fired.

Granted we didn't do our part at times, but I swear the referees let the Bengals get back in this game today.  That mess up with Darryl Smith's TD and no PI call on Torrey amongst others that skip my mind right at the moment.

I have to watch the game. I recorded it while I was at work. I saw last few minutes of 4th qtr smh and overtime.

But to see the final stats not even have 200 total yards is just pathetic.

1. The refs were so bad in this game. There was no consistency with the PI in this game. The spots were terrible.  It was ridiculous.

2. The announcers were hilariously biased. I don't know what it was because Dan Dierdorf usually can't say anything nice about the Ravens, but today, judging by his announcing it was like the Ravens were the best team in football.

3. Ihedigbo got greedy after the first two picks and almost cost us the game on that Hail Mary.

4. Ray Rice is done. There really isn't anything else to say about him. He simply isn't the player he used to be. He'll have to stay on the team until we can afford to cut him, but I'd be starting Pierce at this point.

5. The O-line was actually not that bad today in the run game considering who the competition, and there were some nice holes, but they got progressively worse as the game went on. Pass protection was pretty pathetic, though. There were a few plays where Flacco had plenty of time, but every deep ball we tried ended up being underthrown, and that isn't solely on Flacco.

Long story short, we needed turnovers and penalties to even have a shot at this game, and we won't make the playoffs, let alone make a playoff run like that.

actually most if not all of Joe Deep balls where overthrown bc of the wind the Wind  play a HUGE factor in this game.

The offense really needs to improve alot. Wow, this win was all about the defense.

Like more of the past decade, the defense looked good. The offense started well but sputtered.

The worst refs ever officiating today......AJ's ball was clearly a fumble; even the commentators ensured it a fumble...

I actually don't remember seeing any over throws from Flacco that weren't clearly being throw away. I might have missed some things, but underthrown balls were the problem I noticed.

The ground can't cause a fumble unless it comes out prior to contact with an opposing player. It's not a great rule, but it's there.

Forearm is considered part of the hand, so it should have been a fumble.  Had his knee or elbow hit, he would have been down by contact.  Because only his forearm hit, the play wasn't technically over.

Everywhere I've looked said that the wrist and forearm touching the ground count as being down.

Nope. The wrist and forearm are considered part of the hand.  It should have been a fumble.  The confusion is that in most cases when the wrist and forearm touch the ground, the elbow naturally goes with it.  In this weird case, the elbow did not hit at the same time and the ball was already out by time it did.
