Week 10 - Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals

3,191 posts in this topic

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this team needs to get over their fascination with winning ugly.

that' won't happen until they get over the idea they have to be a ground & pound team.

Hear hear, that smash  mouth football nonsense is dead, and even if it wasn't this team ain't built for it.  Hopefully Ozzie is now building around Flacco as our franchise centerpiece, but we won't know that for sure until this off-season.

Beating us this season doesn't make you a good football team.

Well said. I agree I feel like any team wearing cleats can beat us this year! We just stink on offense so much it smells all the way to Ellicott City especially on windy days like today!

I totally agree man! I am watching John Harbaugh standing there and saying he is proud of the team and the way they played. This is the kind of bull that gets to me big time. He needs to own up to our play on the field and state how badly we played.

I don't know why this is a problem.

I am proud of the team and the way they played. The wind was horrendous today and the offense couldn't get anything done coming into the 2nd half.

The defense played great today (without Ngata. hmmm.) and had one fluke, boneheaded play that tied up the game.

The offense did enough to win the game at the end. The defense made the big play to put the game into the hands of the offense. These guys showed they do have pride, fire and heart today. A lesser team and that fluke, boneheaded play would have done them in.

I'd take an OT win every week. These things aren't worth messing with, as I'd have thought this year would be a testament to.

Two things are clear one pool pics are a must and no more "one player from the opponent would you want". that ensure us to win out .

Sorry, but you're off base.  Everybody blaming Flacco for our woes is making me annoyed because he isn't anywhere close to the root of our problems.  I am a Ravens fan through and through.  You think I'm going to root for Flacco if we goes to a different team?  Not me. I respect him as a player and feel bad for all the criticism he takes because he is put into a bad position a lot.  Your argument is ridiculous, because any one of us could say the same about you, only replace "Flacco" with "defense".  You defend our defense like some of us defend Flacco.  OK, whatever.  We all have our different perspective.  And in the post of mine that you quoted, I didn't say a word about Flacco.  You want to trash talk about Flacco all the time, ignoring the woes of the offense around him, that's why I make a point to give him a break and argue with folks who trash the franchise quarterback that this team has always looked for and actually has right now.  You tell me I'm not a fan, because I defend Flacco from the misguided criticisms of the likes of you, but you think you're a "better fan" because you criticize Flacco while ignoring the abysmal play of the other units on this team?  If you look at my posts throughout this thread you'll see me pointing out bad decisions, off target throws, etc. and yes I will put them in the context of how he is being set up to fail, but that's my perspective on how I see it, because around these parts if Flacco makes 1 play that isn't a specimen of absolute perfection, he gets called names and everyone says he sucks and is inaccurate, and that's just ridiculous and off base and that's why I'm careful to keep the discussion on Flacco towards the facts that his failures are a symptom of the team's failures, and NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.  Calling into question the quality of fandom of a fellow poster here is ridiculous and I'm honestly shocked at you.

I'll take the win and really did not anticipate it.

The Front Seven played very well.

The corners played very well.

The safeties played well.

The offense stunk.

Just a wall of text with the same excuse.

I espeically like this part: "If Flacco makes 1 play that isn't a specimen of absolute perfection, he gets called names and everyone says he sucks and is inaccurate".

You really believe that crap? 1 play? Keep pulling the strings buddy. This is the same argument ive seen since the kyle boller days, and the same people still does the same thing. Blame the D and glorify the QB.

We remain undefeated (3-0) against teams coming into the game against us with a winning record.  That's a good trend to continue considering we have Chicago, New York, Detroit, New England and Cincinnati again left on the schedule.

Need something to kick start this offense. I thought this was the week with the flea flicker and Tyrod run. I thought the innovative play calling was brilliant early, then we just reverted back to the same old

I thought today was more about a lack of execution than anything else on offense.  Play calling was actually pretty good, just everyone except for Torrey Smith played like crap today.

Hope you realize some crazy things would have to happen for 9-7 to make a wild card this year in the AFC. Its more than likely division or nothing with our current record.

Exactly, which of course is still much more likely than winning the division though, eh?

A win is a win and I'll take this one gladly but once again that was just a horrible game to watch. Our offense is, at the moment, the worst in the NFL(yes I am including the Jacksonville Jaguars in that statement) and watching our pathetic attempts at running the ball makes me want to cry. It is just sad to watch.

The Hail Mary SNAFU was just shockingly bad from our perspective but at least the team showed the heart to overcome that adversity, re-focus and grind out the win. I think the players realised that today's game really was win or bust.

In the long run I don't think this win changes anything, we won't be going to the play-offs this season. Our offense is too much of a liability for that. The season stays alive for at least another week though and that has to be a good thing.

Next stop Chicago.
