Week 10 - Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The under thrown deep balls still aren't a big deal to me. This one did draw the interference and the other one the other game against Pittsburgh that everyone complained about should have drawn an interference as well, the refs just refused to throw the flag, but they should have. The timing isn't perfect on those throws between Joe and Jacoby because he is throwing the ball BEFORE Jacoby is blowing past the defender, BEFORE he is actually open, so Flacco obviously isn't EXPECTING Jacoby to blow clean past without even getting touched and get that wide open, he probably expects him to be a little impeded by coverage down the field... Jacoby just happened to run clean past untouched on both of the plays I am talking about, but again, the ball is thrown BEFORE that happened, so how is Flacco supposed to know that he will be able to get that far down field unimpeded? The SMARTER decision is to throw it just far enough that if he is impeded, he will still get to it, and if he is unimpeded, he will get to it, and either way it COULD BE a catch or draw a PI, and he was exactly successful in that both times despite the refs not throwing the flag against Pittsburgh, though they should have. And if he instead just threw it into the end zone, what are the chances Jacoby can't even get that far? Then you are yelling at him for OVERTHROWING it. He just can't win with you guys, but the smarter decision is to throw it like he did because no matter what a play can be made on the ball whereas if he goes to the end zone there is a 50/50 chance at Jacoby never has a chance to get close to making a play on the ball.

It's amazing how early success and instill such confidence. We look like we got that swagger back and even the crowd is bringing it.
